Man, whoever did Solar shows how hard this song is to nail. She had to go into falsetto to hit the high notes Solar belts at the top of her range at the end of the bridge. Completely changes the feel of the line. Not that she did poorly at all... just shows how difficult the song is to hit.
When you take into account that the bottom group we're technically still trainees on a survival show when they sang that and how young they are, it becomes so much more impressive how well they did! I'm sadly not surprised with Heejin's falsetto needing to come out. She isn't the best belter and they've been singing a lot lately due to their tour. I'm surprised that their companies picked weaker members of their vocal lines to sing such a difficult song. I feel like with the right line up of LOONA and NMIXX members they could've easily hit those notes and harmonies.
The thing with Mamamoo is that they not only have technical abilities but their voice and stage presence are so powerful that perfectly fine groups sound weak covering their songs. Even though these groups are really powerful singing their own songs.
For real, Mamamoo have *BIG* voices and an even bigger heartiness in their performances, which can't be found in many groups following the "as perfect as possible" formula. Mamamoo become carefree as they become engrossed in their performance, which a lot of groups can not manage to do, and this makes the difference
Watching this reminds me how Mamamoo was, and still is, on a different level. These girls here gave this cover their all and no doubt have boundless potential to go further, but the contrast in vocal prowess between them and Mamamoo is very stark. Not forgetting Mamamoo released this song barely 2 years after their own debut.
Their age at that time : Youngchae(the girl with bangs) - 15 years old, Riwon(the girl in ponytail) - 14 years old, Jimin(the tall girl who did the Highnote) - 14 years old, Boeun(the girl with wavy hair) - 13 years old. Three Trainees(Riwon, Jimin, Boeun) debut in the group called 'Class:Y' as 1st place(Jimin), 3rd place(Riwon), and 6th place(Boeun), Sadly Youngchae did not debut with them
The bottom one nailed most of the adlibs and vocal riffs, still not as powerfull as mmm but they sound strong and confident and thats what mmm song is all about, so good job on that. The top one needs to loosen up a bit I think, they seems a lil tense, some even sounds a lil hesitant to sing. Prolly an impromptu performance with not enough time to practice? They nailed the choreo tho. Are they all rookies? Sorry idk any of this girls are but I think they did a good job at covering mamamoo. Tho I won't say decalcomanie is THE hardest mamamoo song since they have many that are much more complex and harder vocal wise, but it is one of the most difficult songs to perform live :')

They practiced together at least once over a month ago and only met again for the performance.

Wow the bottom group did pretty well! Mamamoo's songs are definitely not easy to cover. Some parts seem to be a little stretched (belting for the top group and high head voice for the bottom group). It would be nice if they can change the songs up a bit and add some adlibs to make the song more for them. Anyways, glad to see different groups/singers cover Mamamoo's songs.

the bottom ones were only trainees at that time ( 3 of them have debuted now ) and their age ranges between 13-15 they're super young, it's definitely not their peak they still have years and years for improvement, but look at them singing 100% live and nailing it ^.^
im so proud of heejin and hyunjin. they did so well eventhough they were freaking exhausted due to their ongoing world tour. sullyoon and kyujin did so good as well.

I definitely preferred the bottom group's version. Neither group was going to reach MAMAMOO's level of polish and veteran technique, but the first group felt so robotic and guarded. For a song that's about letting go of your inhibitions, even if they were a little pitchy, the second group's energy was right for the song choice.
As a Moomoo, these are very very good covers! I do think their voices still lack a certain maturity edge to them (which is what makes the original vv iconic), especially since this song leans more towards the sensual side. Although I think the group on the bottom has minors in it???? I might be wrong but I think I saw someone on Twitter said that. In the case that was true a big eyebrow lift 🤔for the people who chose this song for them knowing its lyrics. Nonetheless, great job to these girls! I remember watching the bottom group's cover a while back and being so impressed when I heard they were rookies? or trainees still maybe? very impressive live vocals, especially for such young singers! the had the ad libs, the power, even the stage presence necessary for decalcomanie! They did good. But they lack adlibs and harmonization which is the ultimate weapon of Mamamoo. Solar Roar, hwasa whistle,moonbyul deep voice and poetic rap and wheein highnotes equals perfect Decalcomanie.

They did great, but no one does it like Mamamoo. They have this richness to their voice that is unique to themselves that other groups just don't have. There aren't many vocal powerhouses like Solar out there, so it's hard. These groups are lovely, they just sound weak covering their songs because Mamamoo is just THAT much of a vocal powerhouse that it's hard to match.
I prefer the original not only because of the ✨best vocals✨, but also because in general MAMAMOO have more deep voices (what I like more). Also, Délcacomanie is SUCH a masterpiece! 🤎🖤❤️💛
Both are good covers with some personalization but both groups avoided the same slide up(dirty glisendur) as a group. Mamamoo usually nails that together in a close harmony.
Both performances are great honestly! Vocals and dances are absolutely amazing, however, just like everyone else is saying, Solar's high pitch is hard to hit. Solar being able to hit that range of note just shows how good of a vocalist she is and the power she has in her voice to bring it out.
NMIXX did great with performance LOONA focused more with vocals that's how hard to perform this song you definitely have to choose which one you'll have to focus. so I recognize and salute how these 4th gen groups work hard to prepare for their performance.
I'm glad that I could hear someone do Wheein's whistle note towards the end although it still wasn't as perfect... I still can't get over mamamoo's vocals even though I've been a fan since stary night era. Hoping to see some power vocalists in the new generation... but imo nothing can replace mamamoo. They are the only ones who can sing their songs the best.
Wow, it occured to me that Mamamoo must of worked really hard and that they're irreplaceable. The covers doesn't give me the same vibe the original did. It takes a lot of practice to conquer this masterpiece. The girls did their best though. Props to that.

They actually all did exceptionally well! They hit the notes with ease and they all had pretty powerful voices. The reason why it sounds weird to us is because their fach isn't the correct one for this song. It's a more mature song and they're all kinda light lyric while MMM have thicker tones to their voices.

MMM got 4 distinct voices, and 4 of them powerful in different ways. no one can copy it and thats why you wont feel bored even you listen it 100 times. but with groups that have similar voices, even though they can copy all the adlib, they cant copy the vocal colors that MMM can create

You can see that the top one prioritize the overall performance balance on choreo, vocal, rap etc because it's a big concert, while the one below focuses on vocal that's why the choreo is limited (idk what show is that but probably like music show)
The thing these two groups lack is the different colors in their voices and the harmony. But they still have long way to go. Even Mamamoo said this song is one of the hardest for them. I won't say they sing bad, they sing wonderfully in their own way, but this song is and only for Mamamoo imo. With Mamamoo, you get Solar's power belting, Moonbyul's deep voice and growl, Wheein's powerful yet soft honey voice and Hwasa's sexy sultry almost moany voice. The color's and depth of their voices compliments the song. But salute for their bravery to sing this song.
I mean it's almost like they're not even all lead vocalists. I'm fairly sure only Heejin and Sullyoon are lead vocals. While I think Chuu, Jinsoul, Lily and Haewon would have done the high notes better, it's important that they show off non-main vocals too sometimes.

They did great, but no one does it like Mamamoo. They have this richness to their voice that is unique to themselves that other groups just don't have. There aren't many vocal powerhouses like Solar out there, so it's hard. These groups are lovely, they just sound weak covering their songs because Mamamoo is just THAT much of a vocal powerhouse that it's hard to match.

Both are good covers with some personalization but both groups avoided the same slide up(dirty glisendur) as a group. Mamamoo usually nails that together in a close harmony.
Both performances are great honestly! Vocals and dances are absolutely amazing, however, just like everyone else is saying, Solar's high pitch is hard to hit. Solar being able to hit that range of note just shows how good of a vocalist she is and the power she has in her voice to bring it out.

I'm glad that I could hear someone do Wheein's whistle note towards the end although it still wasn't as perfect... I still can't get over mamamoo's vocals even though I've been a fan since stary night era. Hoping to see some power vocalists in the new generation... but imo nothing can replace mamamoo. They are the only ones who can sing their songs the best.

Wow, it occured to me that Mamamoo must of worked really hard and that they're irreplaceable. The covers doesn't give me the same vibe the original did. It takes a lot of practice to conquer this masterpiece. The girls did their best though. Props to that.

They actually all did exceptionally well! They hit the notes with ease and they all had pretty powerful voices. The reason why it sounds weird to us is because their fach isn't the correct one for this song. It's a more mature song and they're all kinda light lyric while MMM have thicker tones to their voices.

You can see that the top one prioritize the overall performance balance on choreo, vocal, rap etc because it's a big concert, while the one below focuses on vocal that's why the choreo is limited (idk what show is that but probably like music show)

The thing these two groups lack is the different colors in their voices and the harmony. But they still have long way to go. Even Mamamoo said this song is one of the hardest for them. I won't say they sing bad, they sing wonderfully in their own way, but this song is and only for Mamamoo imo. With Mamamoo, you get Solar's power belting, Moonbyul's deep voice and growl, Wheein's powerful yet soft honey voice and Hwasa's sexy sultry almost moany voice. The color's and depth of their voices compliments the song. But salute for their bravery to sing this song.

I mean it's almost like they're not even all lead vocalists. I'm fairly sure only Heejin and Sullyoon are lead vocals. While I think Chuu, Jinsoul, Lily and Haewon would have done the high notes better, it's important that they show off non-main vocals too sometimes.
