Uh Dashy is a scorned ex teammate. He's been lashing out at the people he thinks we're responsible for getting him dropped. Why is that so hard for people to understand? This is not the first time he's had a bad breakup with a team.

Six of one half a dozen of another, think like clay said, a lack of communication between Dashy and Rambo, neither one wanted to back down so there was a lack of compromise and both dug into there respective positions

If anything there was a lack of communication between the rest of the team based on the fact that nobody else was speaking up and decided to just spectate while the arguments between Rambo and dashy were going on.

Not really feeling like Optic anymore. Still love the team but after all this I realized I was more of a Dashy fan than a fan of the logo or whatever.
I think the reality is is that Rambo is not good at the personal side of coaching except maybe with Ant. And while Dashy has had his issues, his talent should supersede these petty stuff.
And the communication issue is on Brandon to a certain degree but he should’ve felt more free to communicate, that to me is a team culture issue. Which the coach should have a handle on.
Yes he should but if what he thinks conflicts with what everyone else wants and thinks then replacing him is more than fair you cant nuke a teams setup they like because one of 4 talented players isn’t happy

@@yeahrightok.3975 dashy wasn't on optic for 2 seasons, he was there since bo4 lol and technically when the franchising thing started scump's team became Chicago huntsman but optic was still a team and I'm pretty sure dashy was on that team, then huntsman went back to being optic and they got their dashy back since during the next cod their team was scump, dashy, formal and envoy so I'm pretty sure dashy has been there much longer than 2 seasons lollll
Honestly man, with everything coming to a boil and spilling over, I hope this gives a new path for communication and teamwork now that everything is on the table. We got our team moving forward and it is nasty. If these guys agree to grow together they can catch a W at champs no doubt. Stoked for the rest of this season
Dashy was labeled a bad teammate and had 2 different coaches come out and say he didnt listen, before Rambo and Shotzzy even joined optic.

As coach Rambo said “this game is left-stick not right-stick”, positioning and rotations is what he coaches, not if they can shoot their gun straight.

I think Ray and all of the CDL coaches need to be playing 8's or even moshpit in order to understand situational aspects more. It would make a lot of things easier when it comes to communication. Or the coaches could do there own 8's (league for lack of a better term) with each other.
ray was grinding out ranked play last year and so were other coaches like crowder kinda the same but not at the same time

You should record both for sure why not but I can understand it a little in the moment to watch the minimap because it's not possible to watch 4 POVs at once and actually take in what's happening to talk about between maps, there definitely are things the mini map doesn't pick up but that's also part of the point of using the minimap - watching POVs and retroactively hyperfocusing on "if Dashy had won this gunfight we'd break the hill" or "if Shotzzy preaimed here instead of sprinting we'd be in a 4v3" etc etc realistically all that is circumstantial and anyone can critique plays and indivudal mistakes after knowing the outcome, every single map they'll ever play there will always be a situation where they didn't win a gunfight and if they did the map would of been easier, sure if they won every single gunfight it would be simple but that's not realistic so watching POVs and analysing guns fights doesn't do much imo - if you trust the skill level of the team all those mistakes from watching a POV are mostly irrelevant over the course of a season what matters is the thought process of how they play the game - the strategic side of it which in COD is mostly limited to rotations, setups and set plays in SND which are most easily seen on minimaps - I can see why Dashy didn't like the minimap if you watch his POV you can tell he's insanely good but he's also a baiter and a killwhore he always has been and its worked very well when he's playing at his peak but on the minimap that probably doesn't look too good.

@@kenethernandez6246 shotzzy is an open minded player that is teachable and doesn’t look at the game in a black and white sense. that’s why he can be critiqued by ray and just look at the minimap. the POVS isn’t anything but the comms, the minimal gives you everything you need POSTMATCH to know what mistakes you made LEFTSTICK wise. obviously you can say oh i lost this gunfight here.. that’s what brandon’s complaining about then why use the POVs? Sounds like he’s still being selfish and uncoachable as a teammate. The only thing that has changed about ray is that his confidence as a coach has been taken and he doesn’t want to imprint himself on this team as much, which sucks because he feels like he ruined a great team, which is incorrect. formal said last season rambo ray was the coach he wanted to have and that he told the players what they needed to be told. now he’s useless? lmfao.

And dashy was the best player in vanguard last year, everyone kept calling out ant for playing too fast? he probably got more critiques in scrims for playing too fast. but brandon had to be defensive whenever ray told him something “oh i was one shot here, stunned, couldn’t chall w seth” yea that’s the point, if you took a long route, waited for seth to go in the first place, not lineup. they’d win that fight. i’m talking about the pred 1v2 in control champs map 3.

Shottzy has been my fav Halo player. I cant wait for the inevitable Halo return. Scump and Nade during Bo2 were the guys who got me to follow esports and I find it fitting Shotzzy is the guy who is Scumps last legit teammate.
Dashy was literally the best player on that team potential wise. In Vanguard he was the 2nd best player in the league and was the runner up for MVP

Agreed. Ant is an amazing player and talent but I couldn’t even imagine working with him when things aren’t going well from what we’ve seen of him when talking about these topics. It could be he’s different behind closed doors and he’s just speaking all this nothing to protect his team and Dashy. But this entire situation stems from the team letting this tension fester since the vanguard major 1 win combined with frustration from Illey’s injury. A coach and a player are having problems and the rest of the team basically decide to not say or do anything about it until the team environment is long dead. Good vibes won’t hold a team together through adversity you spoke super facts

Focusing on one thing rather than multiple isn’t a bad thing by any means. I hope dashy comes in w/ an open mind and doesn’t just have a negative outlook on the coaching methods from the jump.

The difference between this approach and the optic podcast approach of explaining the situations that unfolded is why optic initially got so much hate. This is the better way to explain situations to fans compared to sponsored, tip-toed podcasts that half-ass the explanations and leave the viewer pissed that their time is wasted.
Not just time wasted but it sounded like all the blame was put on Dashy which is somewhat true. They did put it all on Dashy until Dashy spoke out and everyone realized it was multiple peoples faults

Recording no POV is actually braindead. So much nuance to the game is lost. Did a trophy block a nade? Is this guy prone ? Was this player even visible on this cross? Are we losing gun fights because we're getting pre aimed? Was this guy snaking a heady? Did we get broken out of a hill because of positioning or did one of our guys just get absolutely gunned? Did we just get really bad timing? Etc etc.
I feel like you guys didnt have Dashys back and also didnt respect his input on things sometimes but there is two sides to every story
There’s a difference between having someone’s back and replacing the one person on your team that doesn’t fit into the system like at the end of the day of the other 3 are happy with the way the team works but dashy isn’t why would they change what they were doing

because dashys lying. He got dropped for out of game problems they said (nothing to do with rambo). Dashy said in a vlog 1 month ago he would rather be at the hq with formal than scrim at the optic offices. He never took his job seriously and formal allowed him to slack off, thats why theyre both pissed.

(formal was on that team and just said on stream coaches are useless btw) Envoy went on the flank after being dropped and said the team never listened, they never went into private matches or watch vod. Agreed that there is no win situation for Optic but if Optic speaks first it does mean Dashy gets the right to respond especially for what he feels was done wrong to him.
One thing I want for this season is for Brandon to get picked up and absolutely smoke OpTic. The way OpTic went about things with the podcast/process is crazy. I love OpTic but come on man OpTic went about it the wrong way.

So far, hearing from both sides of the story seems like a simple but most important aspect to every relationship, communication. Rambo and Dashy are both unwillingly to compromise to each other, and it became a "toxic" environment. The silence that dashy mentioned was most likely Dashy harshly critiquing Rambo structure to play the game. This made the entire team sit in silence, and Dashy talking for 80% of the time.
Rambo fining dashy for stuff is rambo fault
Rambo skipping practice to bowl is rambo fault as well, but it shouldn't be a problem. Dashy was just mad and let his emotion get the best of him on this section.
OPTIC making excuses is true as hell. Scump is the poster boy for this. Just say yea, we suck and we are doing our best to get better.
The thing is, Rambo didn't fire Dashy. That was the players decision not Rambo. Dashy just venting on the only person with a smaller following so he can get away with the slander. The guy didn't want to take criticism from any coach from Teepee, to Sender, to now Rambo it's always the same with him. Guy needs to grow up and figure out that everyone not gonna bend over backwards for him and his comfort.

I don't know why you're all picking sides and acting like you can't like the other side anymore. Realistically what did Dashy even say about Rambo? I watched his rant he basically said Rambo thinks recording minimaps is better than POVs, Rambo would be on his ass for being late, Rambo would tell Hecz if Dashy was late and that Dashy got most of the criticism - I don't remember anything else but we were told all this while Dashy was on the team they said time and time again on the podcast Hecz, Scump and Rambo all said that Dashy has a problem with being late and that he's been fined for it and they'll be taking it seriously going forward(after picking him back up) - that's exactly what happened so what's the surprise here? What changed? He was late and got fined - someone who doesn't have a problem being late didn't once and didn't get fined that's not unfair that what happens when your on your last chance - also this is all taken strictly from Dashys POV and somehow he thinks it's excusable to miss practice because he had to stay up all night to get a haircut at 8am - how does that make sense? Go to sleep like a normal person and wake up early don't stay up all night and go to bed after 9am because you needed to get a haircut. I'm not sure what you guys watched but the clips I watched from Dashy basically said nothing we didn't know. I could explain the minimap thing but it's long winded - essentially comes down to you can see all the necessary info about setups, breaks, rotations and trades from the minimap without hyperfocusing and nitpicking on individual plays - if you watched a POV what extra information are you going to be able to relay to your team? Nitpicking that is Dashy had hit shots in this gunfight they'd break the hill or if Shotzzy had preaimed here rather than sprinting they'd be in a 4v3 rather than a 3v4, well yes this is obvious in retrospect but is completely irrelevant over the course of a season - telling someone to hit their shots or get better guns kill doesn't help anyone but they can be helped with strategic thinking and working as a team which analysing the minimap does help with - you can't get that knowledge from watching a POV and it's impossible to watch all POVs in a game at once - if your scrimping for 4 hours a day it'll take you another 8 hours to watch back all POVs and analyse plays - that's not practical. There are certain aspects where it's useful like if Rambo asked why didnt you try to trade this kill but you were stunned etc etc but just watching back games in their entirety doesn't do anything but lead to nitpicking missed shots/bad gunfights and retroactively telling them how to play specific circumstances different at that stage the coach has gone too far - anyone can tell why losing a gunfight is a bad thing you don't need to be told that but maybe you do need to be told your position in a setup isn't optimal for crossfire, there's a gap in SND setups, not in a position to trade and have the coach comes up with set plays to try out but analysing POVs and critiquing skill does nothing but bring toxicity.

I love Brandon. But I think everyone was tired of his attitude, mentality and teamwork. He’s an amazing talent, but simply not what the team needs in terms of pretty much everything else.
