Great tutorial, please do more analog 4 videos. I’ve had my mk1 for about 9 months and I absolutely love it. Definitely would like another tutorial focused on A4 percussion sounds!
It is! Give it time to grow into - it's depth was to me very appealing and at the same time sometimes a challenge. But it's of the instrument that will stay with for ever 🩶
This is the best tutorial on dub techno Thanks so much 🙏🙏 You have injected new life into the A4 ( after all the hype on Digitakt 2 and Digitone 2 A4 a brilliant machine It would be nice to have a series of around 5 tutorials on Dub techno for the A4 and have it on patreon Maybe your tutorials could just focus on the A4 making the videos a speciality like Ezbot does with the OT Thanks 🙏 ❤ Love your work
Thanks for the kind words! Super happy you turned your A4 into a dub chord machine! I haven't seen all of EZbots videos, could you describe more what you would find helpful and what the 5 videos would cover? Because maybe I'd do that 🤔 however I'd have the videos on Gumroad as a course where all the sample and sound packs are atm.
@ I’ve been following Ezbot for more than 4 years and his various Efx templates have totally changed the complexion of the OT as a performance mixer. The OT is now a live performance tool besides everything else it does The A4 is an almost forgotten piece if great machinery from Elektron as most are busy with the Digi Boxes and with the MKII’s out, even further. However you could bring great attention back to the A4 with your tutorials, like the one you created on dub techno. 1. Basics of creating dub techno chords 2. Adding copying to another track and creating great pads 3. Using just one track for drums by micro timing and nudging the snare n hi hats Thereby keeping one track free 4. Copying the patterns and altering parameters to create a performance 5. The EFX track 6. How to make a dub techno kick snare clap 7. Making your set shine with the performance knob 8 Adding External efx 9. Percussive elements in Dub Techno 10. Melodic Dub 11. In conjunction with the OT Just an idea. Have these topics covered with 5 or 6 tutorials Include sone sounds Include some project files Sell the package online Later move to Melodic Techno Deep Tech Ambient Maybe DnB if it’s your scene “ Let the A4 be the Machine to perform “ series Cheers 🥂
Thanks! Digitone 2 is definitely on my gear list for next year. HydraSynth I have to say sounds weak in comparison to a Virus! Plus the Virus is 16× multrimbral = 16 super powerful synth under one hood. Can't wave the flag for it hard enough 😅 So, Virus I can recommend 10000000% .
Great tutorial! I love my A4 for Dub Techno and have been experimenting with similar chord tunings recently. Your tip for adding a very subtle pad version underneath the main chord really pulled the track together.
Thanks! Yes, the pad creates a bed for the main chord and fills the space in between. How loud you make is of course up to your personal liking. How would you use this tip in your own productions?
@ I liked that it was very quiet and blended with the reverb and delay of the main chord so that you wouldn’t really know it was there until you mute it and notice it has gone.
Nice one man! I think I requested this a while ago. Man I love my A4, I was thinking about selling it at some point before i dug deep into it and discovered the beast it is. Kind of underrated imo. Dub chords on this synth are to die for..looking forward to see the full tutorial. Thanks man
Seems like almost every A4 owner was on the verge of selling it at least once! 😅 glad you kept and grew into it! And thanks for nice words on the video! Part 2 is almost ready... 🙏
Thanks @robertocaba5915, there is a preset pack for the A4 coming with 150+ presets and 3-5 demo patterns. If you've got the demo pack you'll be notified when it drops 😎☄️

Nice one! Just got the A4 a couple weeks ago, primarily because of its “modular in a box” reputation. I love it so far. So flexible and it sounds great. Would love to see those A4 drum synthesis videos!
Thanks man! Yes, it's such a deep and flexible instrument. The drums tutorial needs some rework - I'll let you know here in the comments when it's ready. What drum sounds would you like to see? 🩶
@@AndreasRoet Would love a kick tutorial, there's a bunch of good ones in the free sound packs from Elektron, I've been planning to spend some time reverse engineering them. I'd like to learn how to do 909-style rides too. And maybe just general, miscellaneous, synth percussion tips and tricks?
how do you make the screen of the A4 magnified? (I want to make videos myself, and struggle with the readability a bit.) Is it a camera function, or post production?)
@AndreasRoet still deciding between cam corder and my dslr (nikon) there is a option for a psu for the dslr. I would use davinci free license to cut the stuff. Really liked your clap, i am on A4 since 2013?, still love it, one of the best maschines out there.
@AndreasRoet I don't really have a budget for equipment just yet, as I'm still only half-way through my acoustic treatment work, but I'll keep an open mind.
Disagree. Internal modulation isn't doing anything functionally different than a patch cable. It's a lot easier to tame than analog signals, but it unlocks the same ability to generate movement.
Awesome tutorial!! Thanks for sharing, please more on the A4🙏
Thanks man! Do you have anything on your mind you'd like to see?

Great video. What other synths would you recommend for rich dub stabs / chords?
Nord Lead and Virus, pretty much any of them will do! Of course I can only recommend what I have played 😄 older instruments may need additional FX

Not modular on any level it’s a very soft metaphor
Agreed, you can't freely connect anything with everything - still, it has a very sound design friendly design 🐐
Disagree. Internal modulation isn't doing anything functionally different than a patch cable. It's a lot easier to tame than analog signals, but it unlocks the same ability to generate movement.
Wish i'd not sold mine....
Wish you didn't give away, too!
