Classic G-Body Garage congrats to yall boys for rescuing the grand national. Long live the g-body, we are still driving my wife's 85 monte carlo (non ss) that she got for a high school graduation present. Keep up the good work. 👍👍✌✌
my dad told me in the early 70,s nobody would ever be restoring cars built in the early70,s and beyond because of all the little plastic bits and parts would be hard yo find cause of all the crushing going on but now im hunting and gathering parts for a 2001 eldo` this buick is a great find I hope you find cars suitable for parts happy hunting.
I love turbo Regals. I have a 1987 WE4 (similar to the GN only with different seats, badges, bumpers, rim,and brake drums are aluminum on the WE4 regal) I bought it brand new when I was 17 (actually my mom signed the dealer documents because I wasn’t 18 yet and she lent me every single dollar to buy the car cash and let me pay her off in monthly payments with zero interest. Rip Mom I love you for doing that and teaching me the value and respect of money. Because honestly paying back that loan really taught me how to grow up and be responsible at a very early age. Because I treated it like an actual car loan and whenever I got paid the first thing I would do is hand her, her car payment. Then I paid my rent second. Even if I had to be homeless and live in my WE4 I made damn sure my car payment was paid to her on time. Every time. This car was one of the key tools used to force a wise ass 17 year old kid from Brooklyn ny to grow up. And it worked. My mom was the only person who would give me a chance to buy a car and pay it off because I was just a kid with no credit but I worked 30 hours a week and went to my last year of high school. Then I did 2 years in college and when I was 20 1/2 years old I was appointed to be a police officer (a job I really didn’t want but was the first city job to call me). then as soon as they called my I rolled over to FDNY and became a firefighter where I worked the rest of my career. As well as running my own DJ business. So the car was titled to me only. I got lucky the dealer said they filed it as me only paying cash for it and the dmv didn’t catch it ,So I’m still the one and I only owner. 31 years later I still have my original nys title certificate or origin that says “new” and when I moved to Florida in 2015 that title says “new” as well because I’m the original owner so I acquired it new so I was real happy to still have it say new on the Florida title as well. Ok, now I don’t know why but mt mom kept literally every receipt and document that I ever got with this car. I remember I was going to throw away the passenger side window sticker but my mom said she wanted it. And she kept everything paperwork wise I ever received for that car. Every receipt from every oil change. My mom kept everything. I had no idea why she did this. But I always gave her all my car receipts and recall notices that I got in the mail. She kept everything. On June 4th 1997 she passed away at the young age of 56. A few days after I buried her next to my dad who passed when I was 13 (ironically he passed away about 4 months after he purchased his brand new 84 Regal T-Type that was white with blackout trim and maroon bucket for interior. He ordered and had to wait quite a few months for his car but having that car was all he talked about). My sister still owns it with about 27k original miles on it. So my older sister and I find 2 track folders full of receipt and documents one was everything paperwork wise that I got with my WE4 and apparently my dad did the exact same thing with all of his cars and my mom learned from him. But omg today. I live in Florida and people literally go nuts when I bring me WE4 (Which is one of only 1547 very limited production cars that were only made in 1987) vs 27590 Grand Nationals produced in 1987. I’ve gotten cash offers at almost triple of what I bought it for. I’ve been told by a very noble person in the grand national following whom has written many books about these cars that my mom literally added 10k in value to my car by saving the original window sticker, bill of sale, pre delivery inspection sheet, build and broadcast sheets, and just a bible size folder or paperwork that it is very nostalgic to a collector to have all of this paperwork that 80% of the owners either threw away or it got lost when cars change ownership. He told me that people are actually paying over $100 just to get a nice quality reproduction window sticker from a company that makes them. Man let me tell you I was blown away when I found all this out. My mom knew. I don’t know how but she knew. I have absolutely no desire to sell my WE4 Grand National ever but I love the fact that she saved all me documents. I have the window sticker and a bunch of other Buick documents that I got the day I bought the car in frames along with my original warrantee book and maintenance coupon book that I put on display at shows especially the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona. Sorry for the long story. Hearing about you saving this car reminded me how my mom used this car to save me from a very bad lifestyle of jail or death which was where I was headed. So I felt the urge to share. Have a blessed day everyone. Mom we miss you everyday
I have owned these G body turbos since 1979 ending with my last 1987 GN. I know these cars inside and out. Every nut, bolt, screw and are my passion. Happy to help where I can and am thankful you saved it from the crusher.
I ran across a 1975 gmc c30 pickup with 83k miles on it that was sold for scrap by the original owner. My best guess is that the owner stopped driving it after one of the blades came off the mechanical fan making the entire truck vibrate pretty bad. A carb rebuild, battery, radiator, and brake booster later it runs like a dream. It's far from pretty but still has a lot of life left. Can't wait to see you get the grand national up to drive able condition again.
I love hearing about people rescuing old cars and restore them. I have a 95 Buick Century that my 11 year old daughter and I are restoring. I rescued it from a field four months ago. Since I have had it…. We have replaced the stock V-6 with a bored out 350 V-8. Then her and I painted the car a pearl white with a purple metallic flake and we tinted the windows as dark as we could legally have them. We also replaced the automatic transmission with a 4 speed
I have a 87 with t-tops 41k original miles bought it from the original owner. Car doesn't have a spec of rust on it & runs like a top!!! Good luck with yours.
I own a 1984 Buick GN the baby GN I call it and love it any way. I bought this off a guy that I thought he did not do justice to it with some problems when I got it. Now I have it 10 years and I got the parts to fix it and I was ill and not myself. I hope this coming this coming to get to working on it and get it back on the road, I do miss driving the car. It is a fun car to drive. I am glad you rescued that 1987 GN from being scraped and have fun on the rebuild.
Stephen Schafer i had a 87 cutlass in mint condition, t tops, 350 rocket, custom paint and wheels, stereo, the works put it in my girlfriends name for cheaper insurance. We broke up she drove thw car to a scrap yard in pa, they crushed it on camera so she could send me the video. The car was worth 8k without a doubt. Gave her 180 lousy bucks for it.. brian got lucky here.
I'm glad they saved the car I have 1980 Monte Carlo fully restored it was given to me for my graduation present in 1998 by my uncle when I got out of high school I will keep that car until it's time for to leave this world and then it will be my sons car always loved all the g body
That's incredible. It's like you got to visit a parallel dimension and return from it. Somebody needs to put smoked glass into one of these Darth Vader Buicks, along with smoked headlight covers and replace the stainless radio whip with a black one. You get the idea.
That's a kick ass ride you now have in your hands Brian. Too bad that the current paint job is horrendous. Like you had said I would have preferred to buff out the old paint and go from there if necessary. Looking forward to future videos of this car!
I thought I was the #1 Buick lover. I'm glad I found your RUclips Chanel because I have a obsession with All Buick Regal's and Grand National's and T types. I have a 86 Buick Regal that I had restored. I replaced every single part or had reconditioned to like new. I can't wait to see your other videos.
Your channel has opened my eyes to a whole generation of cars that I now love, they're plentiful, affordable and easily hotrodded, your knowledge of these vehicles seems endless, great channel, thanks for all the fascinating content
Great to see it saved from the scrap heap. I was a mechanic with Buick when that car came out and that car made the word "Turbocharged" a good badge on a car.
So glad they saved it, but I agree the ham-handed paint job didn't do it many favors. And couldn't they have gotten the emblems back in the right spot?
Brings a tear to my eye, reminds me of my 82' Sports Coupe in the same condition that got sent to jail aka the tow yard because I screeched the tires running around the block for the first time after getting it running, RIP. Nice save, I'm surprised an employee didn't snatch it up.
I know the old basterd that junked the car I asked him for 3 yrs to sale me that car he knew what he had and wasn't going to sale it . When I found out it was gone from his yard I stopped one day when some one was cutting his yard and asked what happened to the car that was sitting over there they told me his old butt passed away and his kid's live up North came down junked the cars sold furniture and thins and now it's a for sale sign in the front yard of that house
Awesome find brother. Glad that it me was saved! Me and the wife actually drove to Georgia today to pick up a grill for my turbo C10 project and on the way back we passed a T-Type on a flatbed that was identical to the one my father owned when I was young. Love these cars...
Great story, I agree with how you feel on the paint and handling. Feels like the car found the right man though. I reallly like your intro with the junk and that emblem coming to rest! Hard work!
Love the concept of rescuing nice cars. Excellent project car. Use Rust Check when uncovering corroded anything. Makes future work so much easier and preserves original parts. Love Grand Nationals!
Good to see this was saved also good to see a different gbody on the channel. I have did a frame off on two regals now. Glad to see pull a part was smart enough to save it
I bought a brand new one in 1987. Watched the truck drop off four new GNs at the dealership and I drove all four and bought the fastest one. Chipped it and added a few other mods and it was pretty stout. I would drive it around on Sunday's just trying to catch something interesting to race at the stoplight. The factory shocks were cheap and the front seats I thought weren't very comfortable but I kept it a couple of years anyway before selling it.
Got my 87GN burnt like bacon.10 feet away look great, melted windows t-tops.went trough 4 engine harness finally found one clean uncut..new transmission stage 2,3"down pipe new fluids coil runs like a champ. Best $2,000 I ever spent . BLAZE IT
This reminds me of my tractor I pulled out of a junkyard and there was nothing wrong with it! Only just the safety switches were bad and it ran like a champ
Always love this year body style and the find a Grand National you scored big time no matter what condition especially the way this one looks so keep it enjoy it and congratulations
Very nice car, I am back tracking from your newest video on this car, thank goodness someone like you is saving these iconic rides, looking forward to more
Out of all of the G Bodies that you've features on the channel This one is probably the most sought after. And I don't recall seeing a video of you actually owning one of these so it's really excellent that it finally happened.
People do the weirdest things. I am Restoring a classic Glastron Scimitar right now. There were only 500 made, and only 50 left in the US. This one has been neglected, but I am bringing it back to life.
Wow amazing opertunity and friendship with pull it.. one can only dream to end up with this car or spend a small fortune obtaining one. This is my dream car, i know its not the iconic dream car of others but one dsy i hope to hand the keys over to my son of one of these.. congrwts on the car wnd best of luck wuth the restorwtion process. You ever decide to give it a admirable home id be more thwn happy to love thwt car for the rest of my life.
Do take care when others see your Grand National. Soon you may have many eager local carheads salivating over what you have. I'm sure they'll have many repeat questions.
Years ago, if my old memory is correct, there was a GNX at a dealership in High Point NC that I passed by a couple times a week. They had a price of 30K on it. I followed it for about 5 years as the price finally reached around 20K. The price was above my pay grade. But, I hope it found a good home. As far as a G body, I had a 1986 Monte Carlo that I loved but it had to go when I got to old to keep it up. Also, I used to know of a one owner Dale Earnhardt Edition Monte Carlo in Greensboro NC. Love them G bodies.
Doc Grit I remember seeing that car when I was a teenager I believe, It sat in the showroom for years, I used to see it riding with my dad through Highpoint to Thomasville
Hell Yeah a new build!!! And the people that scraped this poor beauty sounds like my father in law he does not care about cars one bit he buys a car and drives it in the dirt scraps it and repeat and had done this to a few awesome cars a couple of camaro el Camino plymouth satellite and a ford Fairlane. I'm ready to see this ride come back to life
Good job saving that car. That is one of the most iconic cars to anyone that has the passion for them that is my dream car some want corvette or mustang. Not me to have a car that was blowing the doors off of everything it came across and truly being the last of the American muscle cars and the only v6 to every be considered to be a muscle car that is a great find can't wait to see this build
Enjoyed an extended test drive when I was 18 back in 87, nice car, better than parents 79 cutlass that was stolen in 81, but hard to beat the torque of a 455
Very good car im glad it didnt go in a Shredder my uncle has one he rebuilt the engine himself and races it every year and that car kicks ass. His is a 1987 grand national with 600hp to the rear end the only thing stock on his engine is the block
Man you come up on some stuff man...I have always loved this car it's in my top 5 muscle cars..Great find man you gonna make me come see you and help you out..Wow!!!! So happy to see you doing this...I'm blown away.
good on ya man for saving that classic, i visit scrap yards often too like yourself and for me and others its so painfull to see classics sitting there getting parted out and crushed. i have seen a few years ago a 69 road runner stripped and going to the crush then just two years ago i saw a 67 for fairlane convertible getting stripped. i wish i had like an acreage to to save some of them.
My cousin pulled an intake and carbs off of a 1963 Super Duty Catalina that was setting a junk yard by my house in the '70's. He hung on to the factory "bath tub" tunnel ram and carbs for about 20 years and sold them for a couple thousand in the late '90's. He said the car was complete with aluminum bumpers, fenders and "Swiss cheese" frame with no damage at all. He was only 19 and couldn't afford the $200 price the junkyard guy wanted and the engine had a rod knock anyway he said. So he paid $35 for the intake and carbs. Wow what that car would be worth today.
G body are hard to find I’m glad you saved that car I have one question I have a 1981 Buick Regal with a 3.8 and I would like to do a tbi swap or a efi system is have a hard time find a system
Purchased a 1982 royal knight El Camino 6103.00 miles. Car was owned by collector. Fully loaded, buckets console pwr everything. Showroom new in and out. Still has original TA radials and rally wheels. It has a 305 4 barrel rated at a 140 hp. I would like to put in a new LS3 motor and thm 400. Along with a tire and wheel package. Should I do this or will it destroy the value. Or should I just keep OEM. thanks.
Keep it original and mod another El Camino. There are plenty out there but only a few that have been left untouched. So many of these cars get cut up DAILY. Keep that one as it is and cruise it.
Thanks for your advice, I changed all fluids, belts, hoses. put a replica correct Delco freedom battery. Removed original window sticker. Was a high priced at $13579.00 in 1982 dollars. Replaced original tires with raised letter eagle GT tires. Original tires looked new no dry rot still too old drive on. Same collector has a. 1988 Monte Carlo SS black with gold stripes, a rare combo only in 1988. Fully loaded with T -Tops and 7285.00 miles. Seller is 85 years old, finally agreed to sell it to me. His family is making sell his collection of 26 cars which are stored in a climate controlled warehouse. As long as I am alive I would never allow that. thanks.
ive seen one donated to the kidney foundation .. 300$ to the grand national and motor missing and interior missing.. a project that never got finished and somebody died and it was stripped for parts to the bone but the frame was totally rusted out.. floors rusted out and doors flapping... i went thru our bad Canadian winters here in Quebec. / Ontario
Noticed you said you were close to Cleveland, if you need any GN specific parts or knowledge, we have a shop here in Clinton Township, Michigan that specializes in Grand Nationals. I bought my 86 and my 87 from him, it's called Aggressive Performance. Owner is an amazing guy and will help anyone and everyone working to keep a Turbo Regal on the road. Definitely going to follow your page for follow up on this. These cars have a fierce and loyal following, and for anyone here kicking around the idea of getting one of these, do yourself a favor and do it. Even 100% stock these cars are simply amazing, and nearly as easy to tune and build as a LS based engine, but it is more expensive, obviously.
Bruce is honestly the man, I've known him nearly a decade and some of the cars built in his shop are amazing. Also never any issues with his tunes, always safe on boost levels and fuel mixture.
Awesome, well good luck and feel free to pick my brain too if need be. these cars are a passion of mine, and I want to see as many of them on the road as possible.

Classic G-Body Garage hey would you be interested in buying a 76 k10 short bed project with a 79 cab and title?
Tyler Russell I would if it was original. Thanks for the offer!
Classic G-Body Garage why don't you restore it 💯% ?
Classic G-Body Garage congrats to yall boys for rescuing the grand national. Long live the g-body, we are still driving my wife's 85 monte carlo (non ss) that she got for a high school graduation present. Keep up the good work. 👍👍✌✌
Classic G-Body Garage u
Great to see it wasn't crushed or parted. Have a friend with one in his garage that he bought new with 25,000 original miles.
Thanks Jonathan, love your videos as well.
It wasn't new if it had 25k on it but good story anyway
He bought it new, then put 25,000 miles on it. It's now sitting in his garage. It's black and shiny and says voom voom!!
+CIA Assassin can't read
my dad told me in the early 70,s nobody would ever be restoring cars built in the early70,s and beyond because of all the little plastic bits and parts would be hard yo find cause of all the crushing going on but now im hunting and gathering parts for a 2001 eldo` this buick is a great find I hope you find cars suitable for parts happy hunting.
Yep I heard the same story. Good luck with yours too! Thanks for watching.
Very cool story bro your Mom sounds like a great lady. So nice you and your sister honor your parents so much.
As a '87 GN owner I have 2 words for you. Restore it!
Nah, have fun 1st. Just get it running 100% & go make some money.
I have owned these G body turbos since 1979 ending with my last 1987 GN. I know these cars inside and out. Every nut, bolt, screw and are my passion. Happy to help where I can and am thankful you saved it from the crusher.
I finally found someone that appreciates G Body's like I do!
They are great cars.
Count me in too. I’ve owned my four speed ‘79 Malibu coupe since it was new.
Great find and rescue. As a G-body owner, I can say these cars are becoming hard to find, glad to see this one got a second chance.
It will live again! Thanks for watching!
I ran across a 1975 gmc c30 pickup with 83k miles on it that was sold for scrap by the original owner. Sweeeeet score! One man's trash is another man's treasure! That's the mother load!
Thats pretty cool PullAPart has the heart to save a car like this. I know any other small ma and pa yard would just part it out for their own money
Stephen Schafer i had a 87 cutlass in mint condition, t tops, 350 rocket, custom paint and wheels, stereo, the works put it in my girlfriends name for cheaper insurance. Beautiful and what an awesome score! Sucks about the scuff n shoot paint job. I agree it looked way better all factory!

Awesome!
That was a once in a life time moment. Can't wait to see the videos to come from that car
Thanks for saving a iconic car
Got my 87GN burnt like bacon.10 feet away look great, melted windows t-tops.went trough 4 engine harness finally found one clean uncut..new transmission stage 2,3"down pipe new fluids coil runs like a champ. Best $2,000 I ever spent .
BLAZE IT
Iconic car. I’m glad you are going to resurrect the GN and bring it back to the road.
So true! Thanks for watching. More to come!
This reminds me of my tractor I pulled out of a junkyard and there was nothing wrong with it! Only just the safety switches were bad and it ran like a champ
Lucky son of a gun that's an awesome score, fingers crossed that she's a solid ol girl and can soon see the streets again👍
Always love this year body style and the find a Grand National you scored big time no matter what condition especially the way this one looks so keep it enjoy it and congratulations
Thanks for Pull A Part for deciding to save it.
No.brainer. That is a keeper!👊
Very nice car, I am back tracking from your newest video on this car, thank goodness someone like you is saving these iconic rides, looking forward to more
Thanks man much appreciated.
Out of all of the G Bodies that you've features on the channel This one is probably the most sought after. And I don't recall seeing a video of you actually owning one of these so it's really excellent that it finally happened.
Never owned one. I am excited to work on it.
I wanted one back in the day, but could not even afford the regal turbo. The GNX is the one to really have.
Don’t know what to think, but thanks for saving it
Thanks 4 saving it I miss my g body's
I had a 87GN....best car ever in my book. Frame off restoration should be done on the Scrap National.
It will be getting a mechanical restoration to get it running and driving, back on the road.
People do the weirdest things. I am Restoring a classic Glastron Scimitar right now. There were only 500 made, and only 50 left in the US. This one has been neglected, but I am bringing it back to life.
Awesome! Yeah gotta bring old cars back to life.
And suddenly I am way more interested in your boat then this car...
This is a cool project but right now I'm more fascinated by your boat. You should start a channel on it's restoration.
He is! Check out his channel! He got my sub for an amazing 80s super boat.
Great find! Thanks for helping save that classic
Thanks!
Oh to go back to the previous owners and let them know how badly they screw up. Would be so sweet.
Awesome stories!
Doc Grit I remember seeing that car when I was a teenager I believe, It sat in the showroom for years, I used to see it riding with my dad through Highpoint to Thomasville
this car was such an icon, it was even featured in a lot of different videogames, like Gran Turismo... a baddass car to say the least...
I'm ready to see this ride come back to life
I can't wait to show you guys the progress moving forward on each video! Stay tuned!
One of your best vids yet!
Thanks!
My dream car as a teen was a GNX. I would love to own one today.
Awesome save! Cant wait to see more of it.
Wow Brian. What a score.

Owned a new 87 was a beast to say the least and sold it to a collector 20 years ago. Would like to get my hands on a 3 digit GNX.

Thanks!
I am glad it ended up in the right hands great find congrats.
Thanks brother.
Im happy he was able to save this car. A Buick GNX was crushed during the cash for clunkers program.
Cash for clunkers blew my mind. Lol i seen 2 GN's and many other sick rides at the junkyard. Sickining
Yeah that is bad.
Nice find ! And glad she’s in good hands ! Keep them videos coming
Oh man so glad it's alive and not buried with the scrap cars that r worthless throw a ways
Good find even better that you got Pull-A-Part to give it up
Good job saving that car. That is one of the most iconic cars to anyone that has the passion for them that is my dream car some want corvette or mustang. Not me to have a car that was blowing the doors off of everything it came across and truly being the last of the American muscle cars and the only v6 to every be considered to be a muscle car that is a great find can't wait to see this build
thanks for watching for your comment. Much more to come!
I’m glad you saved it!
Thanks for watching!
His is a 1987 grand national with 600hp to the rear end the only thing stock on his engine is the block
wow.....its the right car for the right guy. Go for it.
Looks like a good project hopefully Brian can start uploading somewhat regular videos especially with that new shop.
ricochetey I agree! Haha

Man you are a hero!
Pull A Part is the real hero. They decided to save it. I will be breathing life back into it tho. More to come!
It still has a heart.
Glad you saved. Hope there's no mold inside. What a great model car.
Its a little musty inside but not bad at all. Its an old car.

thats a pretty car when I was younger and in school I would draw cars that had that side profile lol
Can't Wait to see what you Going to do to it
Wow. I can't wait to see how this turns out. Will certainly be watching this closely.
Thanks for watching!
good on ya man for saving that classic, i visit scrap yards often too like yourself and for me and others its so painfull to see classics sitting there getting parted out and crushed. i have seen a few years ago a 69 road runner stripped and going to the crush then just two years ago i saw a 67 for fairlane convertible getting stripped. i wish i had like an acreage to to save some of them.
glad to bring this one back to life.
What a gem
Lucky Score! What a Great classic ride
One of the best
As long as I am alive I would never allow that. thanks.
Wow!!!
I did found a 1982 regal from the original owner for 1400.00 and I felt lucky enough.
Looking forward to see your progress, maybe one day we can line them up! (at the strip or Mexico...lol)
ive seen one donated to the kidney foundation .. 300$ to the grand national and motor missing and interior missing.. a project that never got finished and somebody died and it was stripped for parts to the bone but the frame was totally rusted out.. floors rusted out and doors flapping... i went thru our bad Canadian winters here in Quebec. / Ontario
Cool car Glad you are saving it :)
Me too!
Love these cars. Will follow if you do decide to restore or build it.
I don’t know why this popped up in my recommendations but god I loved this video , subscribed👍
Glad it popped up for you! Thanks for subscribing. Much more to come on this one!
Mark K Bruce made my Z28 one of the fastest NA ls cars in Michigan.
Bruce is honestly the man, I've known him nearly a decade and some of the cars built in his shop are amazing. Also never any issues with his tunes, always safe on boost levels and fuel mixture.
Awesome thanks for the info and yes i am 2 hours from Detroit.
Awesome, well good luck and feel free to pick my brain too if need be. these cars are a passion of mine, and I want to see as many of them on the road as possible.
Really nice car.. seems like yesterday when they were new.
