obsessed with the southern pronunciation of “horror” and you starting the video by saying you’re a romance reader. Immediately my brain made the joke of “well you’re not switching it up bc you’re still reading ‘whOr3’ books” 😂
i’m from washington and this comment just made me say “horror” so many times to figure out how i say it but im pretty sure i pronounce it the same as her 😭
I say it the way you described, and my southern husband makes fun of me for it. He says it like "har rur" lmao
For some reason I absolutely love that your library just says LIBRARY lmao
I laughed out loud
its like the universe knew you were gonna spill kombucha on "Misery" and that's why there wasn't any at the library lmao
YOU WOKE UP THE KID YOU WERE BABYSITTING LMAO
HAHAHAHAH I WAS A CHILD I WAS SO SCARED
Not you sending the little boy to check out the noise 😂
“this is not an enemies to lovers situation”’😭
i keep hearing a diff word than horror 😭
me too lmao. I've been looking for this comment
stop heather bc why was my heart beating faster with the creepy song you played reading misery LMAO
HAHAHHA
The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires audiobook narrator deserves their roses👏🏽👏🏽
the mother thing discussed at 4:04 is harlow’s experiment on attachment! i studied it during psychology but its actually super interesting
THE ROACHESSSS, literally when me and my book club read it all of us had to randomly get on a group call and go “AHHHHHeeehhWHHHWHWH” together
Southern Book Club Guide is one of my favorite horror books. It’s so unique and fun! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!!! ❤
NOT ME COVERING MY EARS AND SCREAMING AT THE ROACH PART BECAUSE I WOULD DIE IF THAT HAPPENED TO ME IN REAL LIFE.
I need recommendations of youtubers with this vibe, I loved her omg
I have a severe phobia or moths and butterflies and one time when my husband was out of town there was a moth flying around my bedroom and I slept on the couch because ABSOLUTELY NOT
I’ve been trying to find some good horror recs so this is perfect ! 💜 also your editing style has been chefs kiss lately
Finneas trying to understand what the f was going on, soooooo cute ❤
You got the case ☺️
That pronunciation of horror now lives rent free in my head
Love your chair with the matching foot stool, looks so comfyy
you said romance rut and my brain said "rut ro"
The braids are everything ✨
no but the backgroud horror music is sending me
I literally hatttteeee horror anything, but last fall I read “southern book clubs guide” and LOVED IT. His written is soooo good. I cannot tell you why I have an attachment to it I just do.
I’m so excited you read The Southern (etc etc, because I have to look it up every time I try to remember it) lmao) !!! I recommended it! I can say each of your reactions were literally the same for me; straight skin crawling, turning away, gagging, just Icked out, and in genuine horror at points! I’m so glad you liked it, it was one of my favorite reads last year, so happy you enjoyed it as well!
no like the music you played while reading misery scared me 🥺 i could never read horror lol
The edits you used while finishing Mother Thing🤣🤣 I am hollering, that’s exactly what I told myself !! Love your humor
Tender is the flesh and a certain hunger are some of my favorite books so now I’m hella intrigued
Omg you didn’t mention that one scene towards the end of ‘Southern Housewives’; IYKYK!! I can’t wait to see you read more horror. Horror is just the best!! 🙌🏽
This video is hilarious, one of my fav ones you’ve done for sure! Ilysm 😂
keep going!!!!!! first time watching and i truly love the vibes
The Dallas t-shirt is a mood
just started Misery this week. I LOVE IT.
I'm in a Romance book rut as well and this might be fun
Ahh! I’ve been checking all week for your new vid 🥰
I loooovw ur reading vlogs downnn
the southern book club takes place in my hometown and whenever i drive through that neighborhood i get intrusive thoughts about the attic scene 😭
I loved this!! 🤍
I did my senior thesis on Misery. It’s my favorite horror film. I love it ❤
You saying, “I think I’m gonna head to Barnes & Noble and get it.” Is the reason I’m now a subscriber. Lol
Heyyy been patiently waiting for you to upload 😌💗
As a female who can see things like ghosts, feel them and hear them, and understand their pain… I would honestly freak out if my kids pointed out some shit but also I can feel the room so I would know weather to get the holy water or not
I have a fear of bugs tho, it’s funny how I’m not afraid of as ghosts as I am as bugs.. like wasps, June bugs
I am absolutely loving the addition of the horror music lol. 11:35
made my week for sure
I’m a huge Stephen King fan, and I’m so happy you Misery!
If you want another horror book challenge I’d recommend Pet Sematary by Stephen King, and also the original film adaptation from 1989!
But if you do ever want to read more Stephen King without any / or too much of the horror element, I’d recommend Billy Summers, Fairy Tale, Elevation, 11/22/63, The Outsider (this is mostly a crime/mystery with some horror if I’m recalling correctly), and then after that one Holly (which would also be a similar mix of the two genres, more so crime imo).
Anyways happy reading! ✌🏻💛
Have you read dolores claiborne it’s my favourite king book :)
(W)hora books. 😂😂 omgosh, i love the way you say it.
Loving the mood music 🫣 lmao
Love this video!
I'm also so scared of roaches. I'll cry immediately seeing them. Gimme spiders, but not roaches. They have no right to be so durable 😂😭
From the audio version of The Southern Booklovers Guide to Slaying Vampires, I still here him calling PATRICIAAAAA.
My first horror book was the Shinning, and OMG it's fantastic.... Now I'm curious about Misery....
I've been waiting for this one
Immediately going to grab the Grady Hendrix book! The only true horror book I have read is his other book called The Final Girl Support Group. Word of caution: I thought, as a lover of 80s/90s horror movies, that it was really good but it does get very gory and I could not read it anywhere near bedtime
Not quite the same thing, but I’m terrified of bees and I had a similar moment when I was an Au pair-a bee got in the room, and I looked around and realized I was the adult and had to do something to get it out 😅
I had no idea what I was getting into when reading the Southern Vampire book and I was shocked lol! I did love it! I too have a fear of roaches too! And scorpions which my house does get, esp in the warmer months.
Anyways, you might like the book Devolution by Max Brooks. It’s not horror but it’s about a neighborhood that gets attack by Sasquatch. It’s crazy and esp good on audiobook. Sounds weird but I really liked it!
As a Canadian I simply cannot imagine just casually getting a freaking scorpion in my house that’s so scary
im crying this is exactly how i read misery
I highly recommend "House of Hunger" by Alexis Henderson, "Dracul" by Dacre Stoker & J.D. Barker, and "The Weight of Blood" by Tiffany D. Jackson. They are honestly my top 3 favorite horror books of all time!!
That part in southern book club was so gross! I cringed so bad! Also dyingggg at your baby sitting story that would be me!!
i actually feel you with the fear of roaches but for me it’s stink bugs
I would just like to say in the clip where you are talking about kids being creepy there is something in the background that looks like something is standing by the room
IM GONNA CRY
yay!! i’m so glad you liked my suggestion
Motherthing was so unhinged, I ate it up. Not a lot of horror though
hehe excited for this vid!! ❤❤ probs gonna start misery after this
I would recommend Seed by Ania Ahlborn for horror!
I’ve heard Soyth Book Club’s Guide is an incredible audiobook but now I’m nervous bc roaches haha
okay but can we talk about how GORGEOUS you look in the thumbnail????? Like 😍😍
Thank you 😭🥹
I have to know where you got that egg chair with the blue cushion and foot stall from
You are exactly what I want to look like ughhhh you’re so beautiful
*wakes a toddler up* hey can you go check that if you don’t mind 😭😭 SAME
I’ve just started getting into horror too but my tolerance for gore is wayyyyy low
Hey did you delete your old videos in the bus??? I loved re-watching those! 🫶🏻
I love reading the title of the book in the story. I just finished reading Wolf at the Table by Adam Rapp and the title was not mentioned. 😐☹ I really thought reading this title in the story would have been good. The book is great though.
Have you read Mexican Gothic ? I think you’d like it it’s horror with some romance in it. It’s more about a haunted house and weird atmosphere/people.
Similarly There’s Rebecca too which is one of my favorite books and has these themes too.
Hey have you shaered the way in which you take care of your books? I need some help regarding to that, I wanna avoid mold and humity.
I only casually read so I haven’t read many authors but….. Grady Hendrix has got to be the most intense author I’ve encountered 😂 like Stephen king level intense at least for me 😅 have you read How to sell a haunted house by Grady Hendrix? That one was crazy and weird. But this was a wonderful video! Misery has been on my tbr for too long now 😆
please do a vlog of you reading ania ahlborns books they are INSANELY GOOD
“It lacked something” and that something wasn’t kombucha
Pleaseeee read Stephen kings Salems Lot it is sooo good and spooky!!!
girl i’m begging where is that chair from 😭
ps. read wall of winnipeg and me cause of you LOVED IT
I got it from Facebook LOL
Give us Horror recommendations plz🥺
SPOILERS: The ice pitcher scene in misery made me feel cool water running down my head..... Thats how far i got tonight lol
As a fellow reader. I do read horror. These are really mild compared to more books out there. Should do a week where you just read splatterpunk. Plus, no hate. Romance books are bleh for me. No real story going on and its pretty much the same in every book.
if i took a shot for every time you said horror... i'd need to have my stomach pumped
LMAO
Literally
You say "horror" funny 🤭
Do you think reading the book would be enjoyable even after watching the movie?
I think it’d be a better experience tbh! I liked it better than the movie!
The roaches still make my skin crawl. Love that book!
I can’t do roaches either so when my husband is deployed I use the Dyson to suck them up.
Heather I love you girl but I feel like you kind of spoiled part of Misery 😭💔 can you put a text blurb on the screen next time that says “potential spoilers” or something 🥹🫶🏻
As a mother…. Kids are creepy as hell
Definitely don’t read metamorphosis 😂
🤓🥯☕️
Please read more horror lol
