Watching these episodes side by side with Season 8 is so funny. The show has swapped out Thorne and Brooke has swapped out Ridge for Thorne.

I forgot this episode Taylor nearly die giving birth to her twin daughters. This sad episode Taylor could died giving birth to her twin daughters. She lucky she survives and gave birth to two healthy twin daughter's. It true Taylor suffer alot nearly die so many times. It miracle she survived and Taylor won't die.

Macy is reliably narrating to Thorne _exactly_ what the Brooke/Thorne relationship is all about and how it will end. And Thorne is objecting that Macy is underestimating his character, when in fact her read on him is spot on. In retrospect, this scene places Macy in the Cassandra position where she actually knows Thorne _better than he knows himself._ It will take him almost *two years* to realize that she was right all along.
Meanwhile, Brooke is showing her unreliability as a narrator by refusing to answer Thorne's question about whether she will go back to pursuing Ridge if Taylor dies. Because the next time Taylor dies, that is _precisely_ what Brooke will do. And she is already circling the delivery room like a vu l t ure.
Having watched the show up through mid-season 7, Macy should have walked from that idiot long before she did. Thorne was a moron well before Brooke was a problem and he was a fool even after she was out of the picture.
Good point! Macy seems more assertive as a character in this season like she's really grown into her own as a mini-Stephanie (calling Brooke "trash" for instance).
@@NewYorkNick0607 yes, Macy does take on some Stephanie traits and plot roles throughout this storyline (Macy as a "replacement" for Stephanie will actually be a _major_ plot point).
Macy calling Brooke names has to be seen in context. This episode is the *_first time_* Thorne and Macy have met since Macy found Brooke hiding under Thorne's bed. Today's scene happens after Brooke has been di s r espectful of Macy for a very long time (while Macy did _nothing_ to deserve it, other than being engaged to the man Brooke wanted) - making moves on Thorne behind Macy's back throughout his engagement to Macy, b a d m ou thing Macy in front of Thorne and undermining Thorne's trust in her, in s u lting Macy (and her family) to her face and wrongfully accusing her of being a spy and for being responsible for everything shady that went on at Spectra (which Macy knew nothing about), and finally showing up half dressed under Thorne's bed, on what Macy had expected to be the night before her wedding, and ta u n ting Macy about Thorne's (at that point virtually still non-existent) affair with Brooke.
So Macy's new assertiveness here is clearly justified in the writing - she's had a painful sudden revelation about Brooke and Thorne, and is reacting to this.

I think Macy pretty much always knew Brooke was trash from knowing what she's done but she always preferred to stay out of Forrester family business. Now, Brooke's affecting her directly so she's coming out at her. Macy isn't the nice mouse than Taylor is 😂. She'd call Brooke trash and not feel one ounce of bad about it lol.
@@TriniT21 there was this one scene with Brooke and Macy earlier in 1995 where Macy asked Brooke to be her matron of honor and Brooke refused because she had better things to do...
Other than that, I don't know if Macy and Brooke ever interacted prior to this storyline. Maybe that's why Macy has such a strong reaction to this encounter with Brooke - she has never dealt with Brooke, or anyone _like_ Brooke, before and is completely blindsided because Brooke plays by entirely different rules than Macy does. Brooke is competitive and has no scruples when it comes to getting what she wants. Macy wants to get along with people and "play fair".
Brooke has a lot of time on her hands between running 🏃♀️ between brothers and getting between amber and rick a real super heaux

Sadly though, we _just missed_ some great moments from the end of season 12.
Amber giving birth to Rick's stillborn baby and then taking her cousin Becky's baby home with her instead.
The fashion show with Forrester and Spectra where CJ made Kimberly's dress fall off.
Stephanie confronting Brooke in the Big Bear cabin (I believe these were the scenes that won Susan Flannery an Emmy).
Taylor learning that she was expecting twins and then contracting TB after helping a homeless man.
Macy finding Brooke hiding under Thorne's bed.
But luckily, we are here *just in time* for the twins' birth, and hearing Brooke sing karaoke!

Darn I wanted to see the first year of the Amber storyline. Also isn't this the Thorne/Macy/Brooke triangle you dislike that ruined the couple?
@@NewYorkNick0607 yes, the Amber storyline will already be at a point when Becky has just been shipped off to Paris to keep quiet about Little Eric being her son. So we miss a lot of that storyline.
I have a love/h at e relationship with the Brooke/Thorne/Macy triangle. It creates some very compelling, high stakes, high energy drama but somewhat at the expense of characterization. It has some quite interesting structural ideas (the "trolley problem"). And it creates this strange feeling of "unreliable narrative" in the _writing itself_ that I mentioned earlier, with the show telling one story and most _characters_ on the show saying the story isn't true.

Absolutely delighted that you are making 1999 available, one of my favourite eras of the show (though I wish 1997 hadn't ended so abruptly). I can't wait for Becki and CJ and Morgan. It astonishes me that this show has had the same head writer all this time and yet it was so good back then and almost consistently terrible for the last 15 years. What gives? Was Bill Bell unofficially giving story consultancy?

Stephanie's hatred of Brooke Forrester goes all the way back to her mother Beth Logan😮 because Eric Forrester love Beth before he ever loved Stephanie Forrester 😮
The original obsessor and stalker Brooke, really, she should not have been at the hospital, Stephanie and Eric should be. So, right there, Brooke only got Ridge by default. Ridge only married Brooke when Caroline and Taylor died. Even in 2023, they had to get rid of Taylor so Brooke ended up with her "destiny" Tridge had it all, looks, personality, and chemistry, too bad, they are no more.

IKR? I think he'd had some thing going with an undocumented worker named Claudia a year or two before this, then he'd been with Taylor before they found their way back.
From what I've seen of this chump through season 7, whatever hesitation Macy has about this engagement are most likely well earned.
Edit: so yeah, he's accusing her of knowing about CJ's sabotage of their show being the reason he ran to play hide the salami with Brooke

@@KariIzumi1 Thorne didn’t deserve Macy he never believed or stuck by her.She on the other hand believed he was an innocent man when he was accused of unaliving Ivanna .Even though the evidence was stacked against him.She risked her life getting the evidence to free him and put the real k- er behind bars.
@@KariIzumi1 Brooke had been talking to Thorne about Macy, trying to undermine his trust in her, and when CJ sabotaged the Forrester showing, Thorne assumed that Macy knew something about it (which of course she didn't).
Hunter tylo did a good job in this scene playing Taylor Forrester giving birth to Phoebe and Steffy Forrester she almost died but she survived😮 the show wouldn't have been the same if they would have took her off😮

Love how Taylor and the other one, would always demean Brooke, not believing she is good enough for Ridge as if he was better, and when they are close to death they feel generous and suddenly Brooke is safe and good enough to be with Ridge. I don't even know why Brooke bothers with them and feels sorry for them.

@@galoutlaw8089Well, if we exclude Caroline's frustration, anger and being really uncomfortable as she said, with Ridge's obsession with Brooke's personal life for 2/3 of their marriage (the rest of it she was dying so it would be of poor taste to have him occupied with Brooke) and Taylor's frustration and fear Ridge would leave her for Brooke (because she knew he married her on the rebound the first time) not to mention the rest, Ridge hasn't done divorces, until he decided to divorce Taylor to be with Brooke.
Well, why was she stalking Caroline in the hospital at all back then? No one's asked Brooke to be so obsessive about Ridge either. Why is she even there in the first place? To be Ridge's forever third place? Oh, poor Brooke, always the victim...😂🙈
@@marn25 The problem with Brooke is that she often misunderstands Ridge's guilt and sympathy for love. It's Brooke's delusions that make Taylor and Caroline insecure, not Ridge. The writers have made Ridge very committed. Sensible viewers who actually saw how Ridge interacted Caroline/Taylor versus Brooke know the difference between love and sympathy.
Taylor is asking to take care of her husband once dead. She knows Ridge can be happy with Brooke but of course she knows Ridge is already more than happy with her alive.
Okay, I just went from season 10 episode 194 to season 13 episode 1. 😭 I'm so confused. My mom always watched B&B and Y&R so I've seen a lot of these episodes but I barely remember. What happened to James, Maggie, Shelia and baby girl? I see that Brooke is sucking faces with Thorne and Macy is still in love with him. WHAT HAPPENED TO CLAUDIA?! Where's Clarke the shark?
