Key point for solo play if you go down and are bleeding out but not dead while inside the helicopter as long as you don't fully bleed out you will successfully exfil and keep everything you had and scavenged. Had a mad dash through bots that winged me as I got into the copter and was happily surprised by this.
The prisoner rescue contract is an oppurtunity to exfil, and by holding the ping button (on console) you can invite others to your squad and form a 6-man. Didnt see these mentioned and hope this helps!

Subscribed. Solid basic tutorial. I love this mode and have played nothing else since launch. I even play solo by keeping my goals simple and achievable. I don't always exfil, but I don't take my insured weapon with me, so nothing is really lost. When I'm with a group I'll use the insured weapon asap because I know I'll get it back before the session ends (pretty sure the cool down period is 120 minutes but I think you can reduce that time). Keep up the good work, looking forward to some advanced strategy tips.
If you lose your insured weapon just drop in do a few missions and exfil. It takes like 33 minutes off the cooldown and you can get your gun back in way less than two hours.

Tip for a stronghold. Sometimes the enemy's inside of it will open the door for you and try to attack you so instead of wasting your money on a key make them open it for you

I just simply wanted to know how to play the game and he didnt beat the hell out of me with promotions, gave me ALL the info I needed, and the vid was only 15 minutes for quite the coverage. I have made it a point to only play dmz solo for the fun of it. When it comes to playing that way it may seem extremely difficult, but you need to just change up your playstyle. When with multiple people in a squad the ai is forgiving because they have 3 targets to shoot at where as in solo they all hunt you down. You just gotta play slow, camp your corners and only take them on one at a time. Also it is a good idea to do some problem solving to come up with ways to cheese the ai. I was even able to get a weapon case extracted solo (it did take a few tries). The key is just being as safe and efficient as possible.
p.s. To extract a weapons case solo its alot of rng, but possible. You need to get lucky with case location spawn and exfile location spawns. I got mine by getting the one in the hydro electric by speedrunning to it and running over the juggernaut asap and getting the heck out of dodge in the exfile that was close by. edit: you can also easily get cases by simply camping the nearest exfil point to the weapon case spawn. I got a second one by jumping on the helicopter with a shotgun when they tried to exfil.
@@yaago ya know I would feel bad if it wasn't for that fact that full 3 man squads do it to me nonstop. If a full team had a weapon case and isn't aware enough to kill a solo player using a shotty than that's on them.

I REALLY like the concept and some of the implementation, but I'm just going to have to hold off until they make some changes to make it a lot more solo queue friendly. Even match making with 2 random players in the squad has mixed results, and no one seems to want to try to "assimilate" it's just shoot on sight and not working together.
Yeah I feel ya. I had a single anomaly were we actually teamed up with someone else. But one of their ransoms shot on sight at me. In the end we had a squad of 5.
I literally had better teamwork with ENEMIES who recruited me to their squad than my ACTUAL squad ( who ragequit the second they got downed by AI ). DMZ is a spectacular gamemode but the playerbase just isn't there yet. The randoms in my squad think it's some fast paced arcade game and not Tarkov so they get their back blasted and expect me to save their asses. If you don't have a squad full of real friends, DMZ is nearly impossible.

It"s neither of those things: being the last one standing is NOT an objective, and there are consequences for failure. Once the people who "get" it become the majority, MAYBE it'll get better overall.
@RuDuffEnough WellRu I feel the proper compromise is to start them dirt dumb easy at the very beginning and then ramp them up over time. Would help everyone get their bearings at the start, but give a greater challenge the longer players stay.
@RuDuffEnough WellRu fair point about late starts. I think I didn't play DMZ until day 2 or 3, so I've only known the rough AI. Here's hoping the tweak it soon, I really do think there's something great here.
Might wanna mention the fact that once you get down to 5 minutes before radiation starts the exfils no longer work. I just had the craziest game with my buddies and we had to literally boat across the whole map reviving each other to get to final exfil.
Must be glitched for you. After many many games…… if you call the exfil and the help is visible before gas gets there, it works. If helo is not visible after calling and gas arrives, then you got hit an alternate. The last helo waits for like 70 seconds.

Ive been loving DMZ and ive been playing just me and my boy no fill ( DO NOT USE SQUAD FILL, they will just steal all the good loot and leave you behind) and we have won almost every fight. armored bots need a hard nerf though. my biggest issue is with keys( where half of them go and a 3 use key gets used in 2) and the big ass safes in strongholds that you cant loot for some reason. also they should make it to where you can store extra backpacks and armor vests or at the very leasts allow you to sell them because it does allow you to stow extras but that has 0 use

I see some people here complaining about playing solo. Out of the maybe 10-15 successful exfils I've had, I've only had one bad experience where I had a weapons cache and as soon as I hopped on the exfil helicopter, i got gunned down by a squad. I actually enjoy it a lot though!
Massive potential in this game Mode imo... 1. Pvp/pve toggle 2. Give more time 3. Squad skins 4. Nerf the freaking Terminators (just a little) 5. Pvp/pve toggle (GTA like)
I played duo with my bro in law. Random dropped out, and a duo with another random. Wiped a few squads that were aggressive towards us. I think duo is the sweet spot if you only have 1 friend. If 2, better yet.
Unless you have real life friends to jump in with you don't bother. It ain't worth the time and dudes camping radiation zones or exfils, I wasted hours on Thursday playing solo and with squads of randoms.
If you have a mic its pretty easy to make friends. The social menu was hard to get access to when it was broken but a workaround was the channels menu. Its what ive done. Only been playing dmz over since it came out.
Same for me. I played full evening and just felt I've wasted my time! Solo felt pointless as you just got killed by exfil camper squads and squad play with randoms was rough
Another pro tip here…. First hand knowledge. I unlocked the m13 by my buddy dropping me his, and I exfil with it, and it unlocked. If someone in your group has the m13, bring it it. Drop it for your buddy and let them exfil with it will unlock it for you. and that saves you from having to fight the chemist and from getting 3rd partied. It works.
Been playing this since release but wish I knew about this to point newbs at. I have played with hundreds of players who still had the original missions selected and usually not even completed.
I have a clip of my friends and me getting into a firefight at an exfil, calling a cease fire and extracting with the enemy team. It was a pretty tense helo ride lol
Solo is harder in some ways but easy in others. I tried a few games with randoms who kept triggering the ai. I’m on tier 3 missions now all done on solo.
They should let's us do finishing moves on the Ai, also I wish that the change how you use the cash you extract with, they need to give us a buy station option in the loadout menu before you deploy at the very least
I play with friends or solo never with randoms. When I tried randoms it was one of the most frustrating experiences. Friends is fun and the cooperation is great while solo is tense and challenging.
Another great tip….. warehouses have lockers, lockers have crap tons of loot. Down in the port, there is crap tons of level 2 gear. Get supply drops and Youlle find high value items and level 3 gear
Great video. I had a weird bug or something where I successfully exfil’d but my insured weapon was moved to my contraband slot and I couldn’t use my insured slot for 2 hours. I think it happened because I switched to a contraband weapon and switched it back to my insured weapon in game. For some reason it recognized it as a contraband weapon when I went back to the weapons tab

FYI The 30k keycards when you use them or get near the location that your going to use it (literally as soon as you get next to the door and unlock it) all hell will break loose with the bots before you even open the door. I got murdered by 50 bots and they just kept coming and coming before i even got inside.
This is one of those modes where it’s cool and all, but I simply don’t have enough time to do all this once I turn on the game. Lol I like to get started and be done aka get kills, have fun. This is a lot, I’ll stick to MP kinda takes the fun away with to much to do.

I've been getting alot of frame rate lag but the mode is okay so far. I don't like the cool down timers on the insured weapons. I understand the blueprints being lost but not loadouts. I'll like it better when they get rid of that.
Blueprints? Like the caution tape one he had? You don't lose any insured weapon. Not to mention its SUPER easy to get the timer down when you extract with a healthy amount of cash. I play 2 matches of DMZ and I have my insured weapon back...
Have a lot of trouble with this. There was one group of 3 today which anihalates everyone on the map every time they are on it. The games were so short and there was mainly downtime.
Just having a lot of badluck with DMZ. The misions are not working and bugged out. Not getting rewards for the weapon crate exfil unless it is only for the person who has it. 999 ping 72% packed loss etc etc I hope that they make some improvements fast.

Its been reduced to 60 min (1 hour now) and yes, you reduce that time by exiling with items.
If you run out of weapons all together, and don't want to enter empty handed, you can toggle on a set of two random weapons in the load out menu
and get the shittiest weapons they will give you lol

First faction missions are cake walk but once you get past that your gonna need a squad for sure

It most definitely was glitched. Alot of people left not realizing there was a final exfil. We were just stuck in radiation the whole time lol

Picked up an RPK, greased a dude with a tricked out LMG and extracted. Mine now ❤

The handcuff contract is a free x-fill
Dont be afraid to use the “free weapons” option if you need to. Its unlimited uses as long as you dont have a weapon slot off cooldown.
Go to the smaller strongholds if you're solo

This is one of those modes where it’s cool and all, but I simply don’t have enough time to do all this once I turn on the game. Lol I like to get started and be done aka get kills, have fun. This is a lot, I’ll stick to MP kinda takes the fun away with to much to do.

Wholesome moment, I was playing dmz earlier and an enemy team met my team at the exfil, the other team suggested we joined together and we all exfiled no harm done

I've been getting alot of frame rate lag but the mode is okay so far. I don't like the cool down timers on the insured weapons. I understand the blueprints being lost but not loadouts. I'll like it better when they get rid of that.
Never gonna happen. It’s a risk/reward game mode - that’s the whole point. We’re lucky we even get an insured slot at all in this type of game mode.
Blueprints? Like the caution tape one he had? You don't lose any insured weapon. Not to mention its SUPER easy to get the timer down when you extract with a healthy amount of cash. I play 2 matches of DMZ and I have my insured weapon back...

Have a lot of trouble with this. There was one group of 3 today which anihalates everyone on the map every time they are on it. The games were so short and there was mainly downtime.
me being a person who has beaten far cry 5 a couple of times on pc: this dmz thing will be easy

tip, use recon drone to flush out exfil campers
Just having a lot of badluck with DMZ.
The misions are not working and bugged out.
Not getting rewards for the weapon crate exfil unless it is only for the person who has it.
999 ping 72% packed loss etc etc
I hope that they make some improvements fast.
It’s almost more advantageous to group up with enemy squads and just farm the map.

DMZ is fun I only played it because if you extract with a weapon you haven’t unlocked you can unlock it in multiplayer
Does the XP go hand in hand with Warzone and same with the XP towards leveling up guns and account?
