Science and religion both had failed when I had a psychological crisis. I longed for meaning in my life in this god forsaken world, was on the brink of suicide. No amount of therapy could help, until I ventured on a philosophical journey, I was redeemed from death, poverty, isolation, you name it.
There is no way not to philosophize - in life, in science, in society ... We always have to presuppose some kind of answers to ultimately unanswerable questions in order to be able to lead our lives, to do science, to live together ... Questioning and discussing all those silent assumptions is what I would call philosophizing. I think it is not wrong to strive for some kind of unity in one's philosophy. But I don't quite understand what you mean by "unity of being and thinking". I would love to see a video on this topic, though.
I've never heard an apology of philosophy that I've found compelling. It's audacious to say and I wanna keep an open mind on these things, but it all just seems too quixotic for me.

Russell's view of philosoohy's limits makes sense to someone who treats philosophical problems as scientific problems.
