In question and concerns regarding vehicles like T64, M60 and others the '83's game designer reply on discord was: "but since someone asked last week, the vehicles we were including were: UAZ 469 M151A2 Jeep Landrover Series III Ural 4320 Bedford MJ M813 5 tonne truck M60A3 T64B Chieftain Mk 9 AH-1S ECAS Cobra (I think it was this model, it's been a while since I've thought about the helos) UH-60 Mi-24P Lynx Mk1 and before anyone asks why trucks rather than IFVs, it was purely a scope thing. Trucks needed less art and were easy to setup whereas armed and armoured vehicles were a lot more time consuming, so while IFVs were preferable they lost out when scope cuts were being done, along with APCs, anti-air platforms, etc, etc"
whats interesting about this trailer, at least the first seconds of it, is that it looks like combat is happening close to chornobyl, as we can see what appears to be the Duga radar station, the iconic ferris wheel, and the CNPP more further away, and i assume the firefight is happening in the red forest
Looks interesting. I was a British soldier, stationed in West Germany during this period. I still remember the reg of my CP Landrover. 58 GJ 33. The REME fitter converted the back so, when set up, I had a desk to write on and storage for radio logs, maps, contraband and most importantly, headache pills! I would have to listen out and operate 5 different radios, the secure radio emitted a “beep!” Every second, hence the aspirin. Fond memories though.
3rd Infantry Division, V Corps in USEUR/7th Army had 2 battalions of M-1s with the 105mm main gun in REFORGER 83 and they ran all over us (1st AD) in the second half of the exercise. No Bradleys were in the FRG at the time, but were in Stateside units.
1:33 the m60s where are A3s you can tell by the wind scarcer 2:06 the T-64B entered production in 1976 and since the game takes place in the ussr itself i could very much see it in-game along with the T-64A as it was more common
Better late as hell than never? I have concerns because this game began development pre covid in an entirely different shooter landscape. As fond as my memories are of Tripwire FPS games, Squad and PR have really spoiled me when it comes to combat in a communication heavy game. 83 has had 6 years to cook and that trailer looked very rough.
Communication heavy game doesnt mean microphone only. Everyone can make a wall of text as tutorial (HLL), force people to use mics only and figure it out themselves (Squad) or make an actual interactive tutorial with both non verbal and verbal comms (RO2). Since '83 is accessible realism it will go closer to RO/RS route which you dont have to worry about.
Arma Reforger / Arma 3 #Full on modding support / full on sandbox Squad #Streamlined experience, right into conflict Hell let loose #Most immersive, detailed to the teeth you probably know why i wrote those titles here, you can probably add a few other games from head that fit here and has a unique twist. But yeah we dont really need a new "upcoming military simulator shooter" If you offer the same experience as any of these above, there is no incentive to play / buy it because you dont have anything new to offer Its good to have competition, but when you only offer the same general thing instead of revamping it in such a way thats its way different experience, you just wasting your valuable talent. Description of the game: "The game pits two large platoons of players against each other in massive maps, fighting over a number of objectives that have a tangible impact on the battle as a whole when held by the victorious faction. Players will have access to a selection of real-world infantry weapons and equipment, as well as a selection of powerful land and air vehicles which can decisively turn the tide of a battle." For me that sounds very plain, generic. But i might be completely wrong? What you guys think?
We'll have to see, the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm games were very good and still felt unique in the vast market of tactical FPS games. That being said, I'm gonna tamp down my expectations and whatnot, see what they do with the game.
@@PhanPhantasy I know the first M1s entered service in 1980 but i am NOT sure when the first Germany based (or REFORGER) unit received them; although i would think it would be a primary destination. With 1000's produced by end of 1983, i cant imagine they weren't there...but i cant say 100%
Awesome to see that '83 is being developed again, I kinda forgot it existed after I heard it was initially being cancelled
holy shit red orchestra 1 and 2 tanks but mid cold war with m60 and t55 hell yeah.
awesome 83 is back.

I think thats a T-64B because it has no coinsidence RF bulges on sides of turret.
Road wheels are slightly too big but yeah definitely a t64b. Plus you can see the missile guidance antenna box.
nvm saw it the box is part of the fcs ye it's a T-64B
it will be fun to have some M60 vs t64 action, it tickels a niche that usually only get filled by modded arma
ghpc exist and has both T-64A and B along with the M60A1 and A3
weather you buy it or not that's up to you

Btw you said at 2:03 that we won’t be seeing the M1 because it’s ‘83, but the Abrams entered service and deployed to Germany in 1981. Look it up.
Yes, someone already corrected me earlier. I was probably looking up the M1IP instead of the earlier one.

No Bradleys till '85.
Nice! me definetly checking this one out as once i was a member of Baor back in 83, cool.
That's cool, what did you do?

let me know your thoughts or questions!
Nice video, lots of interesting questions hope the devs respond ;)

i really hope they suceed with the game and find a publisher!
Sad part...1983 No Abrams with 120mm gun xD
M1 with M833 no diffrence in my option
@@RUWQEIRSA M833 wouldnt be available in high numbers by 1983, or available at all
No DU armor no 120mm reinmettal L6 gun also problems with early engines and filters the early Abrams where a hot mess
@@jesseterrell2109 not L6 its L44
Also no M1IP...

I think that is an M60A3TTS. See the barrel shroud and the second crosswind sensor on the turret. M60A1 doesn't have it

Looks like the tank sight shots are Gunner Heat PC.
That's because I did use Gunner HEAT PC as footage.

this. it looks the same as rising storm 2, the game that released in 2017

This gives me heavy GHPC vibes
Probably because there was clips of that game featured in the video.
Ah, commander teamkilling the whole team with arty on cap point returns
I thought this game got cancelled!
...this game isn't dead ?
Why wouldn't we see an M1 in 1983? They were deployed to Germany starting in 1981 I believe.
You may be correct. According to the Canadian Army Trophy, they were there starting in '83, but the M1IP was a little later.

If it plays like rs2 its still gold.

Arma Reforger will never get tanks and any other tracked vehicles
cold war? boring.
Less boring than all modern and futuristic shit
what do you want? cliche and overused ww2 setting?
