I know the Song is by Olivia Rodrigo but Wow Tove Lo, She made it her own too in her own style and it is too good, She is a Quality Artist it hurts me that she is so underrated. I LOVE you Tove Lo
I feel like the original sounds like a petty response from a young person who doesn't understand what they're feeling or what's happened. This version is like someone who knows exactly how she feels and is angry and sad and is in mourning over her loss. It's so POWERFUL and mature.
this is fucking amazing! her voice is adorable, it fits her perfectly. the musical arrangements are mind blowing! i have played it like 20 times already, cant get enough of it!!
Hearing this in Tove’s voice was the first time I was able to really hear and be struck by the lyrics. Especially “I lost my mind// I spent the night crying on the floor of my bathroom.// you’re so unaffected, I really don’t get it”. She really embodies this song. Takes on a much deeper hue. Thank you Tove ♥️
She gave new life to a lyrics that is indeed very painful and deserved something more than teen pop. We’ve all been through that: rejection from a person we love and cherish with all ourselves while seeing them moving on easily. This song is a masterpiece
@@darukona7218 I was talking about the original song, is a kind of pop-punk that reminds you a bit of Avril Lavigne and similar artists back in the early 2000. Of course it’s far from the clash 😂 this cover is synth pop
I love Tove Lo version, but the truth is that most of Olivia's songs are 'more than pop' as you said. This one (good 4 u) is not made in more dynamic production...
Damn! She took a rock song and turned it into a freaking balled! NEVER thought I'd cry during this song BUT congrats Tove Lo you made me cry during this song.
This proves once again how incredibly well crafted Olivia’s songs are, you can transform them in all directions because of their strong core. I don’t think most people realize she’s much more than a nice voice and pretty face. There’s not even one miss on her album, that’s so impressing.
@@saam3712 no she didn't, even Paramore don't think she stole from them. I get if you're not a music major or really into a specific genre that songs can sound similar, but I promise nobody that can read music thinks that she stole it.
This is amazing! The song hits very differently in this rendition to the original. How it was sung, and arranged it gave me the same vibe as Robyn's Dancing on My Own.
Olivia sings it like, :Boy, bye, I can't be botherd, which I really admire the "punk" attitude she brings to it. Tove Lo is not just singing the song. She is feeling every word of what is passing over her lips and she is making sure you understand her point of view. Excellent song and tbh, I'm really feeling this version a little more. I find myself singing right along and feeling every word myself. We're so lucky to discover both versions!
Now I’m thinking if I prefer Tove’s version instead the original one. Damn this is too good. Olivia’s obviously awesome but Tove’s brought another vibe to it. Amazing loved it
Obviously a fantastic performance and great cover but the way tove lo knows her camera and makes it feel like a live show is incredible Just a one of a kind artist I love her so much
It’s insane how much she made this her own song. It’s like a completely different song. I love the original but this version really feels impactful and mature, again, that’s not a knock on the original, but there’s just something about Tove Lo that she can really make something raw and heartfelt.
lol dreaming i love party one and original but saying its bette than original is an idiot. every original song in the world cant be beat by a cover. original is original. But this one is good it just ignorant seeing people saying its better than orginal. HAHA IDIOTS
I hate how many people are saying it's so much better then the original. I wish people could appreciate things without comparison. One couldn't exist without the other. It's artist expression and appreciation. I doubt Tove would want this type of reaction, rather just appreciate it for how good it is as a stand alone peice of art rather then downgrading the original artist, who was basically a child when she wrote it by the way. Both are masterpieces in their own right without the need for comparison. Two beautiful versions of a very good song

Yeah this is the comment lol. She slaps
No crumbs
Ive heard this song so many times but when Tove sings it I actually listen to the lyrics. Toves a legend! Her voice is so pure and different
Same here!!
Really the first time the lyrics really hit.
OMG THIS!
Heard this song a lot and this is the first time I really LISTEN to it. And these vocals? Unbeliavable amazing!
YES OMG SAME!! Never even knew what the song was about until now!
Because her voice doesn't sound Sour to the ears like the original singer 😂😂

wow, this comment explains exactly why i can't *feel* olivia's music despite some of her songs being lyrically good

The synth break in the middle just spoke to my soul!
Best cover I've seen; actually transforms the song into a distinct style and explores different ways the song can be great!
the tone of her voice when she sings the line "if you ever cared to ask" gives me chills every single time.
Yes, that's weird, me too!
She just made this song better🙃
She made this song another song
Holy shiiii! She elevated this song so beautifully, only listening to this version moving forward, wow.

she's the only the person that made me enjoy this song.
She definitely needs to release this as a single
