We want the doug doug plug plug
Hi doug
This has the plot of an entire movie.
In half the runtime
so much happened …
and in the end… was a stalemate .
@jvnicexx I didnt expect that at all, absolute cinema
A story of forbidden love, death, revenge, cowardly queens, a pacifist, and eventually... A draw...
Today I learnt that chess is more fun when 32 players and 1 referee are involved. Peak sport.
The proper way to play
i bi angerer meinig, ds schpiu zwüsche {Magnus Carlsen} u {Hikaru Nakamura} isch spannender
Usualmy its 2 players and 31 referee’s
yes 😅
@MakiBoo-cw6tv why is there an extra ref
This is a lot like actual war, everyone is enthusiastic at the start but near the end they realize the horror of it all and wish it to be over
and in the end, no one wins
Romance...
i am glad i was high while watching this
@SnailSnail-j5b All truly is fair.. in love and war
Having fought for in WW1, it is bizarrely accurate. I made out with an enemy pawn all the time just like what happened with Yolp and Americangamer
American confessing to yolp for him to immediately decline is the funniest thing ever
52:36 btw
* 27:33
You will rest in peace yolp fly high 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Yold gotta be the One with biggest character develoment
accidental stalemate is the funniest fucking way to end a nearly 4 hour game of chess
Props to Melus for ending the war 🙏
@shawke_neo ILLEGAL stalemate as well btw lmao
@moca-pocalypseoctohog3045 how
@Astiralist pawn moved up two when could only move up one past first movement.
@Astiralistthat pawn moved up two squares in the last turn when they can only move one after moving from initial position.
Stalemating after 3 hours of chess is the most accurate part of this Game.
XD
You spoiled the vid 😔
Every perfect game of chess ends in a draw
@ShiroSHH You shouldn't have been curious
@ShiroSHH Sorry you were forced to read the comments before watching the video. That must've been rough. I hope your captor releases you soon.
Why were all the knights extremely suicidal
The knights yearn for glory
Horses are suicidal by nature, only wanting death for what the world has done to them
historic realism
@e1123581321345589144 Eh, historical knights were nobles and were more likely to be captured for ransom than killed on the battlefield. Horses are also not suicidal- Generally speaking, the reason you don't cavalry charge in the front of a formation is because the horse doesn't particularly want to impale itself on a wall of amassed spears.
Probably French cavalry
49:35 "I smoke a cigareet" 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
I didn't know I needed this until right now
omg its chess
Omg it’s chess
Omg it’s chess
They set the board up wrong 😭
Omg its chess
I love how the white king starts out nice and benevolent and loving all his pieces, but slowly turns into the villain, demanding for his pieces to kill others despite them begging not to.
Those who are pure can only be corrupted, and the ones who are stained can only be cleansed
its the best way to represent both armys
And the bloodthirsty team was the one wanting peace
Funnily enough it even ends with him being the last piece to die (albeit accidentally as well) like it some Disney movie or something
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
45:02 Even his own team isn’t safe from his bloodlust
Thank you doug doug for letting me be apart of this masterpiece :)
its him
WHAT??
ITS THE LEGEND HIMSELF
HOLY FLIP
YOLP
You were such a great main character!
please tell me you and america talked after stream
You're so bald please dont go funny
yolp you absolutely carried
“I’m the queen dude” in a deep voice like that is unreasonable funny
the first trans queen in history
Just gotta put "drag" in front.
That's when I know the video is gonna be peak
@henningerhenningstone691 Elagabalus* in chess fr
*ik they were an emperor, and their gender identity is impossible to label due to them being very very dead
@henningerhenningstone691 I mean, why would pawns turn into queens when promoting.
The goofy eyes and the different tones of TTS voice adds so much to this sort of thing
I also like how the pieces wiggled around a little when they talked.
@chickencurry420 Yeah he always adds that to whatever he's having talk and it makes such a difference
"Don't look at me like that Lukasco >:["
"But you look so delicious :3"
I love how many different personalities the chatters give the moving .pngs despite the fact that the TTS has like, 5 voices and the same tone most of the time
DaAmerican becoming a rook to avenge Yolp, Cryo witnessing all other knights die, and Kelo not moving the entire game. Most cinema game of chess and I won’t be told otherwise
And at the end of it all, a stalemate. What a story!
Doug moving the king into check but no one noticing so it ended in a stalemate 😭
Don’t forget Dziki starting out as a kind benevolent king loving all his pieces and then having a villain descent and turning into a cruel villain forcing his people to kill when they beg not to
One line that stuck out to me is at the beginning when one of the pieces said "Yolp is essential to our endgame."
Holy shit they were a visionary
Yolp taught Jdawg that ruthlessness is mercy upon themselves.
For when they chose to spare Yolp, they paid the price as Bizarre fell immediately after. From then on, they realised: being merciful to one's foes risks one's own losses.
📖🔥✍️📈
and i was apparently
@YolpKolpNO FUCKING WAY
50:28 doug immediately does an illegal move the moment hes given control. (puts neon in cryonami's hornse eating range)
@jaybokoblin *sigh*
😂😂😂
Lmaoo 😂frrr
@jaybokoblin lol I didn't see that at all, if he would have saw that maybe the game wouldn't have ended in a stalemate
40:45 he also makes the king take back, forcing black into a worse situation, when Yolp also could have taken and been more safe
The undrinkable brick will sell out.
personally i immediately grabbed it and the original. it will ABSOLUTELY sell out.
of course, doug's chat will always gravitate towards the most impractical or chaotic choice. running with that is all part of the classic doug style yknow
I personally will be ordering 4. 1 for me and the others for my 3 mugmugs
i bought the brick i dont drink from mmugs either way so now i have a doug doug mugmug brick and it has the same amount of use as any other mugmug from me.
As useless as it is, this is the dougdoug community so yeah it’s instantly selling out.
Shout out to Kelociraptor98 for NOT moving once the entire game
He was asleep
@chmkntaco eppy
@chmkntaco no i wasnt
@kelociraptor98 omg It's the legend himself.
@kelociraptor98 the guy
Ok but selling a mug with no drink hole is the funniest merch I could imagine
It's not even called a "mugmug" It's literally just called "The Brick."
@merelyamachine-ano, it's called the brick mugmug on the site
It's literally a brick with a handle. Brilliant!
And let me guess, I'm already to late to procure my precious brick-brick 😭😭😭
@MsNovaris nope! Go snatch it NOW NOW NOW
7:54 DaAmericanGamer was for Yolp since the beginning... 🥺🥺
Mannnn ur right 🥹🥺🥺
Can't wait for Gotham chess to review this chess game
@Tenshi786-e2y seriously. Please Gotham. I want to know just how bad this game went.
@entropysquid it was bad but when you think about each pieces mindset you see that it played out like a real war
Captain was a strategic murderer every move was precise and gave insane advantage
Yolp was a pacifist only taking when his hand is forced and taking detours to reach his destination
Each piece had a personality and played by it so in the end it’s not about the review of the game but of the players… o7
He'd look at Doug moving Neon into check at 50:26 and scream.
there were only 2 illegal moves though, no where near what chat gpt plays
(near the end the black king moved into check)
@benjaminoechsli1941 hahahahahahahaha
Captianjdawg was an absolute menace. Mans singlehandedly killed off a third of z team and bullied their king nonstop for over an hour
They chose peace one time and it lost them their most loyal man. From then on, they knew, war never changes. In order to win, they would have to become what they swore to destroy. Cinema.
They’re in the comments here somewhere
Yeah I like that he killed the fan favorite Yolp, the guy literally went after their ruler and yet everyone still said to spare him and forgave him for it. It’s crazy how easily Yolp could have taken advantage of American’s feelings in that moment to get the higher advantage which is what he actually did but upon not succeeding I assume that’s why he dropped back.
I'm glad he ignored the Dawson's Creek B-plot and did his job. He stood on business and left a trail of tears in his wake. Easy MVP.
beginning: “dude yolp you cant move yet stop being annoying”
end: “NO YOLP NOOOOOOOOOOOOO”
Literally
@Suspressable thats so sweet :)
I was crying at yolps death, jesus christ it hurts.
a perfect summary of how i felt during the video, little did i know at the start that yolp would end up being the main character instead of the comic relief
I hope Luna finished her homework
Rumor has it, Luna's still trying to finish their homework to this very day.
5:07 someone in chat "MOVE TO KYOTO"
KYOTO AT ALL COSTS
I understood that reference.
If Neuro ever fought his chat in chess it would be a massacre. I look forward to it one day.
KYOTO KYOTO JAPAN OMG IT HAS TO BE KYOTO
WHEN IN DOUBT! KYOTO HAS NEVER BEEN WRONG
Yolp and Daamericangamer arc was beautiful and heartbreaking
the tragedy of yolp being murdered in cold blood after finally reuniting with his lover in the enemy backlines was the most important storyline that led to the eventual peace through stalemate
the beauty of Yolp finding the potential in daamerican,
cinema
Ending it with Daamerican becoming a rook was the perfect way to end the story, Yolp was jealous because they could choose to be anything, but in the end they chose Yolp.
@epicgamernoisesintensifies6238 Don't make me cry
@epicgamernoisesintensifies6238Absolute cinema
I miss DaAmericanGamer :(
the enemies to lovers arc was incredible
we love you yolp
how is it in rook heaven
@freakyteto i just keep moving forward, and sometimes to the side
DAWG THEY COMMENTED SOMEWHERE HERE
FIND YOUR LOVER ROOK
Doomed forbidden chess yaoi wasnt something I was expecting, but at this point I should’ve.
I think it's yuri or atleast straight because all chess pieces are female, I think. This is because a pawn can become a queen, therefore all pawns are female.
@AbjadepI'd argue otherwise, and say that all chess pieces are gender fluid because they cannot just become a queen, but also a knight, bishop and tower. But that's just a theory. A gender theory.
It's at the very least straight because American transformed like Sailor Moon.
Yolp's gender remains to be seen.
@Abjadep that assumption doesn't consider the rest of the pieces. And king and queen are gendered terms. So king is definitely male.
@gabeitch9142tho their beginning sentence is incorrect ("all pieces are female") because of he existence of king, I think what they meant is that all pawns might be female because one of the options to transform is queen, but can't be king.
And since we can't gender a god damn tower, a horse and bishops are of unknown gender, that's the closest hint of how we could definitely the gender of the pawns
17:40 My sacrifice was not worth it in the end 🙁
A LEGEND
Thats my daring
O7
DARING I'M YOUR FAN
IT WAS FOR THE STORY O7
That was the most creative advertisement for a mug I've seen, can't wait to ship them all to the Chinese embassy.
W comment
Anyone see the “handmade in Rhode Island” when they showed the watermelon mug?
I must know what that’s about
It’s filmed like an old smosh video
Peak reference
"Why am I in this commercial" killed me
They say the pefect game of chess always ends in a stalemate. They are correct. Absolute cinema.
Not stalemate, draw. 🙂
Incorrect, Z Team still won because of Doug’s incompetence
@gulyascsilivelthat is what a stalemate is.
@Slice_Of_Melon im not good with chess, how is it a draw? as i saw it white won cause black cant move cause white pawn moved to checkmate, how does it become a draw?
@L@LuXoR330white pawn didn’t checkmate, the idiot moved so that black didn’t have a valid move, but wasn’t in check, so it’s a draw.
52:07 Dzikii03 getting banned by accident was so funny. Perfect way to end that.
This might be Doug's best video. The way the chatters make actual characters out of the pieces with whole story arcs. I laughed harder than I had in ages and actually got emotional at the end. Major props to all who participated!
hes one amazing DM with a hella big fun chaotic group
same
@pob098true his dnd videos were great, I wanna see his chat vs Napoleon in chess except they’re the chess piece this time
@grandpa8877 that’s an actual great 2 for 1 sequel idea I wish this was a higher comment instead of a reply
Frrr I fell in love w/ literally all the characters it made their deaths sad especially Yolp’s 😢😢
Yo, it’s me the horse Piplo 🐕
Piplo the goat
Cool
:O
yo, it's me the horse cryo 🐦
@Cryonami cool
Yolp had more plot relevance than thanos
Excuse me wym by that🤨
Now we’re just saying stuff
"#$@& YOU" had me rolling😂
17:44 “I’m not a coward, I’m Daring” that goes hard
Huh, this actually puts an interesting spin on chess, because of the nature of how each team can collaborate which move to make. It changes the priorities of the game, do you sacrifice yourself for the powerful pieces like normal, or do you potentially sacrifice a powerful piece do kill a pawn that has been making a lot of the smart choices for the other team? There needs to be a website like that of Codenames or Garticphone so that this version of the game can be made public because it is very interesting
What Is This,Marcel Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu?
For real. It also allows for errant personality flavor to add a bit of chaos into the game. Instead of min-maxing each move, personal rivalries and vendettas crop up, and some pieces end up acting out of their own interests instead of those of the team. What started as a meme game ended up developing to be a fascinating exploration of team dynamics!
The only problem with making a game like this automated is… who is the ref? Who has the final say in actually moving the pieces? The king of each side? But then how would the game allow for pieces going rogue and adding excitement?
It could be that everyone can decide to move and its randomly selected, and those who hold off their own movement gain more and more move priority until they decide to move. Sounds sick.
Call it CHESSROYAL
After reading the above comments I kinda feel like making this into an online game would be impossible, at least not in the same way it played out in this video. Doug Doug himself is an essential part of this. Maybe they could use an AI referee? Idk, i feel like that would take a lot of the fun out of it. They could also pick a random player to be the ref, but obviously that would lead to shitty refs trolling 90% of the time, and that would just be incredibly frustrating. And you cant just ban trolling all together, because Doug Doug allows a sensible amount of chaos which is why this stream is so entertaining, but it would be difficult to design straightforward rules for an online version that allow a little chaos but not too much. I feel like you just need a human referee with common sense and a good sense of humor for this. Doug Doug should just do these streams annually, or even monthly. Seems like so much fun.
@Hawksearcher maybe like the pieces themselves have the final say in what they choose but there's like a discussion time where they can't move and like pieces on one side can decide to kill their own pieces (in cases like deciding to rebel against their king or to execute disobedient pieces)
32:35 "i understand survivors guilt now" lmao
So good 😂
Thank you doug for letting me participate
Cool, what moves did you make?

My Goat. Ggs.
@adbloxPawns really are Potential Men (or women or enbys)
My goat 🐐
The Enemies to Lovers to Enemies to Lovers story was beautiful.
This is a beautiful narrative of chess pieces engaging in brutal warfare, gaining revenge for fallen comrades, demanding blood, losing innocence, falling in love with the enemy, only to end with a technical draw. Never before have I seen a more amazing war film.
This is genuinely one of the best pieces of DougDoug improv i've ever had the pleasure of viewing. The overall goals, actions, emotions, and morals all combined into one giant act of violence and prejudice that eventually culminates into the main plot of love and forgiveness, followed by grief and vengeance, and culminates to the final and grand act of tactical suicide as the Black King is left alive but with no one and the White King never won the war. Both sides lost, and the only thing that's left is broken relationships, and broken kingdoms.
@ReinsofGaul5053 "The only winners of war are those that war no more, the dead"
It would make for a fire war movie :D
@ReinsofGaul5053 as a lover of literature... this should've been a shakespeare play.
Since nobody said it, Captainjdawg was an absolute menace
@LASAGN4 your avatar is cute whose the artist :3
Was moving like prime omniman, a dreadful duo with her king,who was also ruthless
mvp
Truly my goat
@stratorallis youtube keeps deleting my comments,but i put in my channel desc,thanks!
I miss Yolp :(
SHES HERE
ITS DAAMERICANGAMER POG
the greatest loss of our generation
You became the thing you loved most.
Wassup
32:27
The image of Cryonami saying "I understand survivor's guilt now" has genuinely made me understand why survvivvor's guilt is so horrible.
It's the thought that, maybe, if you had simply done something different, that you could havve savved their life. They could still be here, with their family and friends.
Goodness gracious, man!
Never thought I’d enjoy a two minute ad so much that I’d actually want more of it.
@LitoTheBear ikr camerawork was so good I would actually watch a pokemon movie filmed like that.
@AtomixTigerand the effects
it waz perfection
"Why am I in this commercial" spoken like a Lion
E
parkzer truly is a lion
Well, he is a cat after all
@hisupwassup according to the book
the lion does not concern himself with advertising
Since nobody has said this, Parkzer's absolute disinterest in roleplay is as hilarious as always. Also Yolp was awesome
Where was Parkzer?
@m0dnaR12 the ad. his only line was "Why am I in this commercial?"
@timfunnydragon commercial*
the black horses were so sad... they just wanted to eat grass together and be happy :(
The Yolp and Pawn subplot was so beautiful... A grand play of tragedy and comedy.
The Romeo and Juliet we never expected
That was the main plot
And romance
Good lord
WHAT?
bro is lowkey
This would be a crazy guess the elo
This is way too funny
Cinema
It's crazy that the one person advocating for peace, the one person who wanted to live, was the first casualty of war. The war spares no one, not even the most innocent, not even the bishops 😢.
Edit: It's even worse, they were corrupted. They were forced to kill. They weren't even allowed to keep their innocence. This man of god died a killer.
Political assassination
They weren't the first death, they were the first to kill, even worse!
@AshBunnyForrlyfePolitical corruption
Their resorts to peace, at least, came true in the end with the stalemate. 🫡
"A perfect game of chess ends in a draw" - DougDoug
As a chess player, this is by far the most painful thing my face spheres have ever observed. 10/10
"Face spheres" is so funny, oh my god.
Black going first, that hurt the most
it was brutal
White had so many oppotunities to gain a huge advantage on the first game 😭(Didn't watch the 2nd game, it was too painful)
My 2100 brain is dying
*52:24** Some may call Melusinelefae dumb (including themselves), but I think they were a visionaire. They were the only one that could, and DID find a way to end the war, and to teach us a lesson: Always look out for stalemates when you're on the winning side. I didn't know they were "mates" where a queen isn't checked by an opposing piece, but now I know*
@alexpuhringer3721 for sure yeah and it was the best ending
@alexpuhringer3721 nah i think it was a slipup considering the "i might be dumb", where they got too overconfident and paid the price. anagnorisis.
@TamWam_nah it was fs a content play
The fact that the Pawn rook wasn’t a part of the mate was so poetic to me. They really were about peace after all.
Nice username bro
These new DougDoug video intros are lowk fire
🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😄😄😄
ProAnikah, that's an ad.
Yolp I loved you since the beginning. Your eagerness to run freely around the board was inspiring, your haters-to-lovers story was beautiful, and your death was crushing. Yolp, you are forever in my heart
This video is a perfect depiction of what going into war is actually like
- everyone is eager at the start
- realize perfect coordination is impossible so everyone loosely cooperate with each other instead
- actual battles and deaths are actually much rarer and fewer than everyone expected
- the realization that war is actually more busywork than fighting settles in
- the war begins to drag on and either side can't make significant progress
- the war ends up going on for far longer than either side expected
- people either start losing interest in the conflict, forget what they were originally fighting for, or realize the whole conflict was a pointless mess
- the war ends in an indecisive situation where neither side actually won despite committing and losing almost everything they had to offer
- both sides are worse off after the war than before it
peak
"No country has ever benefited from prolonged warfare." -Sun Tzu, the Art of War
cinema
I guess you could say it never changes.
@HumanoidDerpling funny that i bought the art of war a few days ago
Okay besides this video having one of the best storylines in cinema history, HOW THE FUCK DID THEY STALEMATE
Because Z crew never loses
they had about 10 different chances of checkmating throughout the game and missed them every time
Well, besides the illegal move Doug immediately made at 50:24, you cannot move the king into a contested spot. If all moves around a king are a contested spot, they cannot move. This does not become a loss in Chess, but rather a stalemate. When the pawn at the end moved up in the last move, it contested the one legal move available for the king. When it became the kings turn, no legal moves were available and the game ends in a stalemate since their turn could not be completed.
@Diap3redbunny i dont play chess how is that fundamentally different from 2 rooks closing in a king onto an edge area?
"A perfect game of chess always ends in a draw"
Yolp's character development will be studied for decades to come as a masterclass in acting
i hope they do, i really do
@YolpKolpIt's the legend himself
Can we get an animated cinematic of this game lmao
7:07 "Half the comments of this video are all gonna be telling Doug white always moves first in chess" Actually there are weirder things we wanna talk about
such as the undrinkable brick
@TheLilium117have uh, have you had a drinkable brick?
@monkehoard yes
@monkehoardtbf most bricks are very porous and can hold a fair bit of water so you could in theory drink from a brick if you soak it and then suck the water up.
Someone should animate this.
someone should do like a full-blown anime intro with custom music
would be a movie i'd pay to watch
As a chess player, this is by far the most painful chess media I have been made to witness. simply lovely.
@ReinsofGaul5053 New copypasta?
CINEMA
✋😐🤚
This is exactly why war is never worth it in the end. 07 to all the fallen soldiers, you will not be forgotten, but your deaths will be in vain.
@CaptainJDawg You were the most out for blood. Even history’s monsters learn their lessons
@totallyadifferentpersonOkay, but what if instead we shed *more* blood
Why is my goat here😢
You were the villain future audiences will love to hate
bro's up there with darth vader fr
50:31 Illegal move as the horse can take the king
you're right wonder if it would still finish as a stall mate
That’s what I was gonna say
1st illegal move was moving pawn backwards
@crimsonshepherd9438 when?
How is it a stalemate and not checkmate? I'm bad at chess.
Can't they just move the new rook to 2 spaces above the king and then the king is in checkmate?
“Yolp died for my sins” 😭😭
1:10 "HE'S ALL BRICKED UP!"
HES WHAT?!?!?!?
@DanTheMan31YT AYOO-
@DanTheMan31YT same here
@caleb-U2b-stuff WHAT
@sapphirei90yes
I've never been more stressed out by watching a chess match. Maybe it's the fact that every piece has a voice, or maybe it's the fact that so many of the pieces are suicidal. Either way, I mourn for them
honestly i hope this one gets a sequel
YES!
We can rest knowing that the horses got to live in peace eating grass in the heavens together.
8:12 doug:"do any of you know how chess works!?"
doug 5 minutes ago: *repeatedly calls the king the queen*
6:16
I like the idea of a chess player having to yell at their own piece that they can't move
There's a game where it's basically this video called Anarchy Chess but unfortunately it's on roblox
@thebenjiball0 Unfortunately as in the roblox algorithm sucks? Or unfortunately it's on roblox as a whole?
That's basically the concept of wizard chess in Harry Potter
@thebenjiball0 they made a game about anarchy chess???
24:13 IT'S YOLPIN TIME!
❤
@YolpKolp You and daamerican were definitely the best part of this video
@ModernHero509thank you 🙏
@YolpKolp You were my favorite, _W_ 🔥
“Chess played perfectly is a draw” 😂😂😂
Now _this_ is how Fire Emblem was _meant_ to be played.
You know what’s so ironic about that? Doug’s fans are so insanely chaotic and destruction-happy that I feel like they’d be far more willing to play as Kaga intended than the reset-worshipping actual fire emblem fandom ever would 😂
Seriously, we have such weak wills for perma death in a series that’s supposed to be played with it in mind, I genuinely bet that dougdoug’s fans would never back down. Now I want Doug to do a fire emblem playthrough.
@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 fire emblem but every character is twitch chat when
@psga5555 This is probably doable with FEBuilder
@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 Pavise has two series, one for Awakening (complete) and one for Fates’ Conquest route (close to final chapter in highlights) that shows what INSANITY chat plays Fire Emblem is.
@psga5555i mean a streamer I watched named guardianzet did an FFT playthrough where all the units got named after his chat just that said units were all set to being A.I. lots of stones were thrown.
That was genuinely the funniest ending to any stream ever. Peak
Absolute cinema
3:05 and just like that dough broke chess's rules before the first move is played
e
@piksqu4654 dough dough
Context for those who don’t know chess rules, white always goes first no matter what
@TheC0urtJe5ter If there's one thing EVERYONE knows about chess, it's that White goes first
@Madagascar-ty1hs I’m just explaining for those who might not play chess
I want this animated now!!!
18:45 Mintuu missed the golden opportunity to instead say "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" smh
Could we talk about how good of an early villain Minttu was? Like holy, they would have gotten a pawn checkmate if they had survived
5:19 the queen with the deep voice got me lol
Close enough, welcome back No Game, No Life
I loved the arc between Daamericangamer and Yolp, a one sided love story, then it turned into another one sided love story again, then they love each other again, making the queen rethink of ending yolk, but the queen's strict bloodthirsty king wants only victory, it ends in the queen giving in and killing Yolp, leaving Daamericangamer at grief, making him carry the legacy of Yolk being a rook, then the game ending in a stalemate with Daamericangamer grieving at the end.
But for a brief moment, the queen did spare Yolp... only for Bizarre to pay the price for their actions, and from then on they refused to show another ounce of mercy, becaue ruthlessness is mercy among themselves.
@TamWam_ The queen was ordered by the ruthless king to execute Yolp, despite the queen's staggering attempts not to end Yolk, she was finally unfortunately gave in and followed the king's orders, thus making Daamericangamer's lover gone in an instant.
47:48 The queen also said it though... They spared Yolp earlier only for them to immediately kill Bizarre, so the queen killed Yolp to avenge Bizarre 😭
Tis simply the tragedy of war 😔

I have never wanted a useless brick mug more in my life
50:28 Doug casually putting the king in check
@konatea was screaming at my screen when I saw that happen
Yeah I saw that too, I don't know about this stalemate after that, kinda illegal move
it is an illegal move, but he could have moved back to e6 by the time the stalemate happened anyways
Glad someone else saw that
49:36 "i smoke a ciggaritt - white king" gotta be one of the coldest lines ever
I love that he got eaten.
"this must be the longest game of chess" is such a crazy thing to say about chess
Right? Some people used to play by mail with months per move.
@Syvtek even championship would take a couple of days a game
The red versus blue speech by the first horse to die was hilarious
So, the characters:
- Dzikii, the psycopathic White King
- Neonthenoble, the friendly, somewhat unlucky Black King
- Jdawg, the White Queen, clever strategist
- Yolp, Black Rook, initially bloodthirsty, who falls in love with a Pawn
- Americangamer, White Pawn, initially ready for war, who falls in love with a Black Rook and chooses pacifism
- Cryonami, the traumatized White Knight
- Bizarre, the White Pawn who just wanted to move
- 16jpleasants, the peaceful, high spoken Black Pawn, who moved last
Twitch Chat accidentally created full blown characters and it's both awesome and funny
@steamyram could you put the names for the ones you haven't already?
@Erik_The_grate no problem!
@steamyramthanks
- Stardustliv, a pacifist whose peer pressured into being the first to kill.
- Kelociraptor98, the Pawn that never moved

And he sacrifices… THE KING?!
This was literally peak. More character development than any movie i saw. Lots of emotions. We start the game with Stardust asking for peace, which is a nice foreshadowing to the end. The white king and Captainjdawg were hateable, but great villains. We have a twist villain in the form of Velie_, who was just confused and right before death realizes their wrongs. Yolp, the comic relief, turns out as a powerhouse, creating one of the best arcs of character development, and his love story with daamerican was incredible, it was enemies to lovers done right. The horses were incredible, and so were the bishops. We also had amazing pawns. The rooks were side characters, but great at their roles. The black side had a story of hope and determination, even when loss was clear. By the endgame, Kelo sadly falls to the dark side. At the start, we think it's just a battle with no right, but by the end, we can clearly see the white side is the villain...except for Daamerican and Cryonami, who finally realize Stardust was right, and peace was the best option, even though they sadly only realized way too late. Yolp, again, was amazing. Most deaths, even the early ones, were really emotional and enough to make a grown man cry. Vicere was a great strategist, and did all of their best efforts. And the end...there was truly no better way to end it. Sure, we lost many good characters, but in the end, seeing that all of that was irrelevant...really makes you take a reflection about life. Now, we pray for our good, fallen soldiers, as they hold hands and eat grass in heavens.
The best time to stop fighting was at the very start. The second best time was when they stalemated. Nothing can bring back those that were lost, but by white refusing to give into their fury at the end, there is still hope for their souls.
@griffinski8978 yes, that is true. While it would be better to choose peace at the start and so many lives could be saved, choosing peace in the end was better in the long run. If the white king agreed to truce at the start, in the end, other white pieces wouldn't have learnt that war is bad and left their bloodthirsty behavior behind. The outcome not only made some of the white soldiers realize peace is the best option, but probably also many of the white pieces around the world. We lost many good men and women, but we're now many steps closer to peace
i love how philosophical you can get when the premise is seemingly so simple, it truly is a microcosm for larger society/humanity
