How have , or did, you pass the spirit of rejection onto your son? Was it because he's different from you? In other words, more like his Father than his Mother? This is a very common problem, as children are either more like one parent or the other. Very rarely a perfect 50-50% mixture. BUT, is this a spirit of rejection? That is something else.
Follow the teaching and do it. Repent, confess, and ask for your son's forgiveness and restore the relationship between you and him. Think of your son's salvation of his soul. Repair the heart of that young man and pray God's will and grace and guidance for both of your lives. Be blessed
