    I love trimming almost as much as throwing, in the early days all my pots or bowls had thick bases, at the time I dint mind as I could refine the shape in trimming, however now I think that learning to throw better is the way forward, trimming is the lazy way to get the shape. I'm enjoying throwing better pieces and just finish off by trimming is now, for me more rewarding, I love to watch people trimming a beautiful thrown piece, I've just signed up for another class in September and can't wait for the new term to start😊

      Throwing better is always a good start but there are still a lot of shapes and textures that need trimming to get :-)

    When you make your plates, what diameter do you cut them to please before raising the sides.. i have searched all your plate throwing videos but have not come across any size. Thank you

      The latest ones are approx 28cm

    the Big Ceramics Store here in America makes a plastic bat at 16 inches but with no pin holes. Or maybe hardware stores sell table tops that are bigger.
