    Rohit was mad at Pant because he swatted the ball after he couldn't reach it, instead of collecting it and throwing it. According to Ponting, Marsh could have been in trouble if Pant had done so.

    I still don't understand how in the 21st century a major sporting event can have one set of rules (reserve day) for one semi final match but not for the other semi final.
    It's daft. Either have a reserve day for both or neither.

    • @7ChaosBlack
      @7ChaosBlack 3 дня назад +3

      The reason why the first semi-final has a reserve day, while the other doesn't is because the playing conditions are different for the matches.
      You're right though.
      Either reserves for both or neither.

    Rohit is brotherly figure, cares for youngsters but doesn't like "Garden mein ghoomne wale Bande". He "Ben stoked" Pant not because of catch but Pant did'nt took a shot at wicket after catch dropped ahead, even when Marsh was way out of crease. Instead Pant threw ball nearby without looking at batman in disgust. Poor game awareness is treated disdainfully, esp. by players from Mumbai Old School. People respect him and Rohit just wants World Cup. His stock and fan following has gone wayyyyyyy up after 50 Overs world cup.

    I fail to see how boycotting Afghanistan helps anyone. It's not like Taliban will be like we need to let our women play because no one wants to play with our men's team, instead it will just ruin the careers of the Afghanistan talent.
    Taking the full nation status back might be a better shout but then too it's not the Afghanistan teams fault but they'll suffer none the less.

      South Africa were banned in 1970 or so. For apartheid. That team had steam rolled Australia in Australia and home. Up till today people say those players and that team was one of the strongest ever. They willingly accepted apartheid was unfair and agreed with the ban. For the next 20 yrs no South African could play internationally (unless you changed your nationality like Kepler Wessels ).
      So if SA could suck it up because of apartheid while being right on top of the world rankings at the time, Afghanistan must suck it up too. All is fair in love and war

    • @AbD_tta
      @AbD_tta 3 дня назад +1

      @@sudika108It's not the same case as SA.
      When their women's team disbanded in 2014, at that time it would have made sense to boycott the Afghan team, so as to create some pressure. In 2020, Afghanistan was trying to rebuild their women's team when the Taliban took over and now the Taliban has imposed rules against it. It has become a totally different situation now.

    • @sudika108
      @sudika108 3 дня назад

    When the ICC released the fixtures a few months back, not 1 board , journalists, ex players complained about it and everyone accepted the scheduling.
    But past few days , suddenly the British journalists, ex players etc are coming out in wat looks like a coordinated move to attack ICC , BCCI and the Indian team and accusing them of being bias .
    If England wins the SF, all these so called concerned people will forget everything and start to mock the Indians.
    But if England lose, expect the whole group to erupt in anger and start attacking fiercely.
    The British will never change their behaviour if their team lose.

    I don't think the Afghan men's cricket team or the board members of the Afghan Cricket Board can be blamed for not taking a stand for the women. Afghanistan is not a democratic country. You want them to literally risk their life so women can play cricket? At least Putin pretends that people jumped out of windows when he wants to get rid of someone. Taliban won't even pretend. They'll openly hang people who oppose them.
    You can blame the ICC. The only thing they can do is remove the full member status of Afghan cricket. And that will be tragic. But perhaps necessary.
    If anyone holds clear blame for this situation it is the United States of America. For abandoning their neo-imperial project and letting Taliban take over.
