@@georgetown8986 Not true anymore. The new 992.2 4GTS couple will cost around 240k with similar options I had with my MY22 911 turbo S. I mean a MY25 Pamamera GTS with good options is now around 180k. Porsche pricing is out of hand. I would rather go spend a little more to get a lower tier Lambo or Ferrrari at this price range.
Right, much to much! A more or less base 911 for easy 160.000 Euros. Crazy. New Gt3 is, low spec, more than 240.000 Euros. Last time i checked (12/2011) a 997.2 GT3 was 118.000 Euro. Sorry, but my income did not dobble over the last decade.
@. It has same 0-60 as my Cayman 4.0 manual @ 4.3 seconds. The new T has a 1 mph faster top speed @183 mph whoop-de-do, And is slower at 12.7 1/4 mile compare my Cayman 4.0 @ 12.5 1/4 mile. It’s also 142 lbs. heavier and is not naturally aspirated like my 4.0.
@@trigganometry168 This. Not to mention it being a less tidy package, and having the mass of the engine cantilevered out the back instead of in the center of the car. OK, it does have the multilink rear suspension instead of modified struts, and you can do paint-to-sample if that's important to you. I've always been more of a Cayman/Boxster guy, and the Carrera T certainly doesn't make me want to run out and spend about $40,000 for the equivalent spec of my 4.0.
I never understood why the 992.1 T was available with PDK. The whole point of the T was to be a drivers car. If you can't deal with 3 pedals, you aren't a T customer.
Its a parts kit base. There's nothing special about it at all. The drivers cars in the Porsche range are 4L Cayman GTS, GT4, Spyder, GT3, GT3 RS and GT4 RS.
"Drivers car" does it come with stringy back "driving" gloves. A modern driver - drives like this round a track (1) Left foot for brake (2) right foot for accelerator (3) both hands on wheel. This is safer, more effective, more efficient. If you can't drive you're a T customer.
You can change out the turbos on the T for the larger OEM GTS turbos, larger intercoolers, tune it, and have a monster of a car for the price at around 650 HP at the crank! That it what makes this car a deal.
@@mikesav9 The new base 911 992.2 has the turbos from the 992 GTS stock. Therefore so does the T. It's the biggest reason to upgrade IMO.... Tuneability. If you watch some of the base 911 press releases you will se it has something to do with emissions, we lucked out.
Would you have Porsha make this change? and what would the cost be? Would the rest of the parts in the T stay the same or may have to be upgraded as well? please advice.
Why do I feel like I am being manipulated by the Marketing Department? Needs about 5O more hp, no stick stickers, and 20k lower. I bought a 992.1s just for the additional HP.
Cool, but I’m really happy I got the 992.1 T …that analog tachometer is the crown jewel of the interior. The turn-key motion is the ultimate start of the driving adventure. I definitely use the 7th gear on the freeway to save gas. Plus I’m not a fan of the rear-wheel-steering feel…I prefer the classic 911 feel around corners. Sticking with my ‘24 T
I actually like what Porsche did with the T. The wheels, interior pkg/trim look nice and the 6 spd manual is prime. Still miss the analog tach and turn to start key. The base prices keep going up. All said, it's nice but I'm so glad I bought a 2024.
This is a 2025 model year car, but the footage must have been filmed a long time ago. The wiring for the lighting on the 6th street bridge in Los Angeles was stolen a long, long time ago and it's been dark ever since!
Fairly sure 5th and sixth gears are both overdrive gears. Most Porsche gearboxes I've repaired the input shaft is 4th gear and a straight through 1:1 ratio. Some manufacturers do use the input shaft as 5th making 6th the only overdrive gear.
Did anyone see any signs that it’s a manual only model? 😂. The 2024 version with PDK comes pretty close to the new GT3, less than half a second, in acceleration. Good choice for Porsche not to offer what use to be a “no cost option “ of a PDK, as it might take some GT’ers away from the new pricing structure? Those stickers and puddles lights are making the car a bit silly taking it far from the ethos of what the T was originally.
Porsche "So baut man Sportwagen." Price aside, this one is a very desirable sports car in a time when so many things, but don't listen to the wishes of car and driving enthusiasts. Danke Porsche!
Did I hear right? So the changes include only 9 extra horsepower and a 62 pound weight increase...but the 0-60 time is 0.9 seconds better? That's going to take some more explaining.
You should compare both , the T and the GT3, on german Autobahn or -much better- on Nürburgring Nordschleife and you will know what big big difference that cars make.
As a 35 yr PCA member who is retired, I can no longer afford to buy and maintain a 911. Porsche sales are down and I believe the enthusiasts are looking at other cars like a 2025 Corvette because of price value and more so reliability.
Just picked up my 992.2 Carrera in Vanadium Grey Metallic over Chalk interior. After options $152k! Same price as my 2020 C4S All new 992.2 will be $30k higher than its predecessor. i have a 991.2 rwd manual GTS in guard red with full carbon package & carbon mirror. 911 T doesn't appeal me as a drivers car at all enginr should have been a 4L naturally aspirated basically a gt4 but with shorter gear ratio. And make it lighter! 991.2 GT3 touring or 992.1 gt3 is much more appealing for the price
GTS PDK2 and ELETTRO TURBO is the real bargain of the 25 porsche line up. The T has a manual and a turbo.. you want manual? go all the way with a gt3 touring. turbo lag on the standard Carrera is not acceptable
I’ve driven 911s for 25 years one 993 turbo 3 GT3s. I’m done with them. The dealers just suck. The price increases are insane. If they’re going to charge me McLaren Ferrari or Lamborghini money I’ll buy one of those. Even in my little town there’s 400 911 drivers. Just bought a Lamborghini huracan technica. There’s less than 5 here .
I’m picking up my 25 992.2 on Monday paid $166,505 I don’t want a manual all my sport cars I had in my life were manual and where I live it’s always traffic so I was tired of Manuel
I am not that excited about that wooden gear knob at all. Actually I think they missed a big opportunity to make the T a more special and unique car. I even prefer its predecessor with the analogue rev counter and the twisting start switch, although the six speed and the bigger discs are really welcomed. The new car isn‘t faster and it is almost same but again with a higher price tag bit less options to spec it to your taste. Bye the way the gear ratio in the lower gears seem to be the same and so it is the acceleration. I also wished they used a different tuning on the engine with some additional horsepower. The new race tex fabrics are not looking nice anymore. And where are the folding bucket seats? Come on.

I just don't see this as a value proposition of any type? A 6 speed, okay great! Cayman has a 6, new vette doesn't, but the Z06, now there's a value proposition! This is an overpriced, overhyped garage queen!

Porsche 911 has always been a reasonably priced entry level vehicle for the masses. Just like the Toyota Land Cruiser, Range Rover, and G's.

Btw the used stock footage shows the 992.1 T model. I know there is no actual footage around but I think this is a little bit misleading.
