I don't feel so bad now after hearing how your trip went on the San Joaquin. Launched out of B&W on Mon. and did pretty much the same run all the way to the end of Whiskey. No bites, and the only fish I saw were the ones the seal lions were eating. Gonna try again this coming Monday. Any idea what the water conditions are above Termious?
A friend of mine went few miles further than me and said the water got gin clear. Said he could see more than two feet and it was green. Two 16" stripers and didn't graph any either.
When the Sac river side is high and going fast it will back up the SJ side and it will look like high tide all the time. As the sac side goes down it will start to move on the outgoing tide.
Yes when I was a kid 10 to 20# stripers were common but there are still a lot of big stripers around. Habitats have changed as water conditions have changed also. I'm finding the bigger fish in shallower water eating squawfish.
If your kayak has an electric motor and CF numbers you need to get it decontaminated as they put you in a data base for the golden mussels. If kayak has no motor then you don't need to have decontamination done because no CF number to put in data base. Crazy because a kayak can carry those mussels too! Anything that floats or even birds can transport the mussels.
I fished the San Joaquin and the Mokelumne today. Your report is 💯% correct... no striper there!
I didn't graph any stripers either but they could move into the SJ river soon.
Thanks for your support and your time 👍👍👍👍👍👍🎏🎏🎏🦈🦈🦈🐠🐠🎣🎣🎣🎣🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🙏🙏🙏

Yes if you don't have an electric motor on it you can launch.

Can you fish Orville without decontamination?
Yes you can but I would call the lake and ask because they can close to anytime.
🙂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I fished the outgoing tide and it doesn't seem like the water is moving fast enough for Striper on the San Joaquin side. 🤷♂️

So crazy back in the day limits of 23" to 30" was normal. My personal best was 37" out of grantline canal

Hey Alan, since the boats cannot launch in some lakes do to the golden mussels, can fisherman launch there kayak?
Only if it does not have a CF #/motor
