They are sturdy enough to even freeze in the freezer, for cold drinks. And they aren’t painted - the colors are worked into the clay. I paid less than $35 for each piece. Perhaps around $100-ish for two mugs and two drip coffee saucers. And I ended up buying a huge “man’s mug” (beer stein-style) that matches everything, perfectly - for not much more, if more, than the other mugs. And I thought the prices were rather reasonable, for what I had purchased. I couldn’t imagine buying a mug, that is a standard mold - that is exactly like the ceramic pieces One could purchase, when going to those “paint-it-yourself” ceramic activity places - for freakin’ nearly $100USD. And the thing is.. It wouldn’t even be that difficult for her to create her own molds, of basic cups, either. Finally since that customer is that dissatisfied, I would offer her a credit for the price of the mug with your shop so she can get something she likes better and she can keep the mug.

Honestly, I think something like that has happened to all of us, at some point. The whole 'too embarrassed to back out' thingy. It gets even worse, when you have a kid with you and have to navigate the whole 'it's because the thing isn't worth it, not because *you* aren't worth it' aspect. And there's not even always a right or wrong answer. Sometimes, the overall experience is worth spending more on 'the thing'. Touristy stuff, Christmas markets, romantic dates... you'll always overpay there for food and drinks and little trinkets, but you also (hopefully) make good memories in the process.

I’m literally starting a reptile business and i literally plan to have both high-end reptiles and affordable pets and bundles because as someone who’s spent thousands on reptiles i know how expensive it can be and want to give people the opportunity to get a reptile without losing an arm and a leg.

When I went to the shore, I picked out (not a lot) of candy and, after ringing it up, the employee told me it was $50. I absolutely had the choice to tell them I didn't want it. I thought about it, but I felt awkward and paid, way too much money for what wasn't even $20 of candy elsewhere. They say instead of getting mad you when you let people overstep your boundaries, take it as a learning experience for next time. I don't think OP did anything wrong by posting, but the self-righteousness people have on her behalf is too much.
Honestly, I think something like that has happened to all of us, at some point. The whole 'too embarrassed to back out' thingy. It gets even worse, when you have a kid with you and have to navigate the whole 'it's because the thing isn't worth it, not because *you* aren't worth it' aspect.
And there's not even always a right or wrong answer. Sometimes, the overall experience is worth spending more on 'the thing'. Touristy stuff, Christmas markets, romantic dates... you'll always overpay there for food and drinks and little trinkets, but you also (hopefully) make good memories in the process.

Her saying this expensive mug is for disabled people irks me. I work as a nurse and we use mostly handycups. I can buy a handycup for €15 - €25 ($16 - $27). Also, her mugs have no lid and I believe they are ceramic? That may be to heavy for some. There's a good chance they fall, shatter and maybe hurt someone. Not very disabled friendly.

For someone who actually buys handmade ceramics it’s a totally normal asking price to get a mug or dish for 30-60 euro. Yes hers a bit on the pricier site but it’s her work, her time and her resources going into her ceramics. If her asking price is 150 aus dollar, then everyone is welcome to decline.

I’m literally starting a reptile business and i literally plan to have both high-end reptiles and affordable pets and bundles because as someone who’s spent thousands on reptiles i know how expensive it can be and want to give people the opportunity to get a reptile without losing an arm and a leg.
You should def be able to achieve this goal. As a business owner you give your clients the benefit of doubt and making sure they have all the essential items they may need for the price and quality that they will be paying for. We need more people in business that think like you.
