omg when you said "you can't get beer under 4 euro" I was like :0 that's so cheap. And then you cut to the english impression.... my nationality shows
gotcha! 😉
ឥ
I'm norwegian, so I'm used to like €10 a beer lol
Whaaaat? Im always buying my beer here in Berlin for 50 cent!!!
Gonna miss beers i Poland for 2€ 🥲
I live in Berlin, but always love watching your vids!!!
same here haha
Me too :D
Same
Maybe you have a crush on him lol
As a Berliner I haven't been at the Fernsehturm for ages - 23 Euros?! WHAT??
And wheelchair people are not allowed in, for safety reasons. In GDR days they were, at a reduced price even.
As a liftime Berliner I can tell you: The platform of the TV tower is my favorite spot in Berlin. Height of 203m compared to the platform at Potsdamer Platz with 100m.
I remember about decade ago it was about 15€
As a person born in Berlin I personally didn’t even know all of these secret tips lol
I should probably check out my city a bit more instead of staying in my apartment most of the time, thank you for this video!
Any art museums and restaurants (cheap, mom&pop, hole-in-the-wall) you can recommend off the top of your head?
😂😂😂me too
We need a radical living party in Berlin, so we can come visit you haha. Love ur videos brother, keep it up.
Haha! Sign me in! :D
I’m in!!!
I'm also pushing for this agenda
Lol I'm reaching berlin tonight . Totally in
Yesssss! Make it Happens!
Love these tips, but just a warning to tourists, Flugplatz Johannistal is abandoned but also surrounded by fences. It's technically illegal to go inside so be careful going there. You will have to find a hole in the fence and a company is currently renovating the area. Be discrete and smart when entering :)
So soon it might be walkable without clearing fences?
I LOVED THE TV TOWER RESTAURANT. If I would have seen the TV tower alone, honestly you can find an alternative for the same view but the restaurant is something different. When I was small I saw in a movie that some people went to that rotating restaurant and made a wish to get there. Years later there I was in Berlin and when I saw the TV tower I passed by and thought that it looks like a tourist trap but then in the last day I gave in to peer pressure because my friends were keen to visit the TV tower. When I got to the TV tower in the last moment I saw it is also a restaurant there and in the last moment they had a table for me. It was so stunning seeing the sunset in that restaurant and I realised then that I made my childhood dream a reality and my experience was amazing, I was so happy, it was the best way to spend my last evening in Berlin 💖
The TV tower is a historical and architectural achievement, it will probably become the last important GDR building standing. A status the Panorama Tower will never obtain.
I totally agree. It is an unique experience. The food is not so great but the prizes there are not so high in comparision to the others in famous places.
It's worth the view and you can avoid all the crowded floor under the restaurant.
As a Berliner, Teufelsberg is probably my favorite spot in Berlin. It has a great view (if you don’t want to pay the 5€ you can just go to the Drachenberg right next to it), you can still go in the station and take pictures (for free) and you can look at all the amazing graffiti art that often is sprayed on huge walls. On top of that, through the 5€ you’re paying for the upkeep of the station keeping it accessible.
Sidebote: Nowadays kebabs cost 5-6€ in most stores.
exactly - to at least a certain extent, these fees are paying for the continued availability of the site for all
I swear to god this guy's classic Berliner humour cracks me up every time.
what would you define as "classic Berlin humour"?
@@Caaaaspeeer I think stupid thinks like this 1:37 *lol*
I would doubt he is originally from Berlin. There is something about him or his accent, that gives me the impression, he moved from Southern Germany to Berlin.
@@henningbartels6245 he talks about this in another video: ruclips.net/video/mQHUrnca5-Y/видео.html
Bus line 100 and abandoned airfield look must-see! Thanks for your advice, really appreciate it!❤️
But pass auf. There is a creppy guy who drives a van and he is quicking you out because aparently is not public propiety 😂
Been there, done that... Probably will be there again
To much trash on the airfield
I'm a Berliner and was surprised how useful some of your tips were!
0:37 Very realistic. His backpack being stolen between clips.
My favorite Cold War tourist spot in Berlin was the Stasi Museum in Lichtenberg. It is in the former HQ building of the East German state police, and in the museum you can learn about how they spied on their citizens, and even wander through the old offices of the heads of the Stasi. It was only 6€, which was a real bargain.
Berlin has really changed a lot since the early/mid 00’s. So many tourists nowadays (not that it’s necessarily a bad thing) - places that used to be cool are now so mainstream or uncool. I remember when we used to hang out and chill in Görlitzer Park in the early 00’s - now it’s a total no-go.
same here with Mitte / Prenzlauer Berg. It used to be such a cool area to grow up in, but today it is boring and bourgeois...
Why is it a no-go?
@@tas5622 Görlitzer Park is nowadays although called the biggest trading center for drugs in Germany by some people. Although it’s known for a high level of crime.
I haven’t been there for a long time, so I only can tell you some stereotypes. You know media and reality are two different things 😅
@Hannes You're correct, I walked through it last August when I was in Berlin. Literally everyone guy in there is selling
Same for most places in the Netherlands. Even in the east there are so many foreigners and many things have become mainstream
Please don’t break the remaining wall parts!
Yea, please don't... Especially don't show up at the east side gallery and start chipping away - that shit is art!
dont touch "my" wall! 😡
Heheheh as if people would dare ! Would they ? 🤔
But is it legal to carry around a hammer?
Who said anything about breaking ? I'll just take a complete Mauer Element 1651.
Watching your videos partly inspired me to visit Berlin in July last year for CSD, all the way from Australia - This is your best one yet! Great tips!
Nice Monkey Pox likes this event
I've been doing a lot of planning about my trip to Berlin, and now I stumble upon this video with places no blog or webpage has even mentioned. dude, thank you sooooooooooooo much for this video!!!
Glad it was helpful! Have fun!
When you talked about the abandoned places I felt that was wrong, it's dangerous ... The I remembered I'm from Mexico xD 🇲🇽 btw good video!!
Next year when i come to Berlin, Kebabs on me!
Check out these legit recommendations for Döner shops by Andong first. PS: Don't be an idiot and stand in line for 45 minutes for Mustafa's ;) enjoy!

"You can't get a beer for under €4.". I live in Dublin, you're lucky if you can get a beer for under €7!
At that point I'd stop drinking 😅
With these prices you better keep the glass
I’ve just discovered your channel but I’m already binging all these Berlin videos 😊
Welcome aboard!
@@RadicalLiving thanks 🤗
@@audrey_bond_ WTF.
Youre my go-to channel when it comes to berlin. Please never stop uploading!
I totally agree with you! Bus 100 is the better option instead a Hop-on Hop-off! And City Pirates Audio Guide is a great surprise! Thank you very much from a resident from Berlin!
Where did you get the 100 bus at the Zoo ? The 100 bus we went on was not a double decker and it was packed full of people on a boiling hot day wearing a face mask 😷
no more citypirates app
Hallo from Phoenix Arizona. My son lives in Berlin. I spent 6 weeks there the summer before COVID. He lived in Kreuxberg then and now Mitte. I loved Berlin. Can’t wait to come back. Out of all the places you mention, I only went to Ka De We. So much to see!
He is right. I'm glad we avoided all those spots. The East Gallery was my favorite thing in Berlin and free.
You made me fell in love with Berlin. Thanks a lot
Happy to hear that!
Teefelsberg is absolutely not a tourist trap. I went las year and it was pretty empty, and I was not charged extra to take photos. I loved it.
Yeah, I thought the same
And also they didn't charge or say anything about using the drone or any equipment
It was free at some point now it's paid so I understand his frustration
I mean the view from the Drachenberg (the mountain next to the Teufelsberg) is definitely worth a visit. But having to pay 5 Euro for the spy station is in my opinion a tourist trap because there is not much to see and you can only access very few parts of the station.
What's the graffiti like there? That's the only reason why I want to go!
flak ,teufelsberg, johannisthal, blub. "lost" places sind immer das geilste :D
Such a great video! You have been improving a lot and really cool tips!
I wish had found this video *before* visiting Berlin. Thank you for all the helpful information. You’re doing a great job!
I went to Berlin in February and loved it. Greetings from Brazil!
I hiked up to Teufelsberg a few months ago, only to find it closed for another month or so. I did however find a perfectly human sized hole cut in the fence, so I ventured in, climbed up the side, and was able to get to the very top of the highest dome. Was a very thrilling adventure. Unfortunately when time came to leave, some worker who was apparently there at the same time had closed up the hole I came through, so I was trapped in the spy towers 😅
😂 😂
Tough luck
The view from the Siegessäule is very nice, too, and it's definitely on the cheaper side (even though it's extremely tourist-y). You just have to be prepared to climb a shitton of flights of stairs.
Thank you for giving us all this information I really appreciate it! Greetings from Las Vegas Nevada!🙋♀️🌹
1’41 that WOW is so hilarious ! Just love it !!! I visited Köln, Frankfurt, Munich, but haven’t been to Berlin yet. Thank you so much for those previous tips.
RUclips has just suggested you channel and I can't stop watching your videos! Thank you so much for such a great content!
lol like the mirror flex at potsdamer platz
Side note "bier und buletten" at the TV tower is always a win for the friends visiting but true it isn't cheap.
Wow, great video. You worked so much for it! Well done, thanks
Thank you very much!😁 Greetings
I'm coming to Berlin and staying for a month, and I can't wait ! So glad I found your channel.
Happy to have you 😊 Enjoy Berlin!
For panoramic views you can also go to the Park Inn just in front of the tower. The terrace costs just 4€ and there's no glass between you and the city :)
Haha, I'm literally staying at park inn right now
Or go to the old Synagogue in Oranienburger Strasse
Awesome, thank you I'll definitely check some of these places on my next trip
As a Brit when you said €4 for a beer, I immediately said in my head "What? That seems very reasonable" then I saw the flag... well played.
Polizist: How dare you vandalise the wall!
Me: I just tripped while carrying this hammer I swear! 😰 😂
I'm gonna go next month to Berlín and I was looking for tips in YT and now I'm obsessed with your channel. 💜
This was fun to watch, and also very informative. Thank you.
Love a video where pricing is given in quantities of kebabs that could have been had instead, haha. Awesome vid, thank you for sharing these tips!
I'm in love with the first track! By the way, very useful video!!
Amazing videos always lighten up my mood
Thank you!!!!! Looking forward to come back to Berlin and try some of your sugestions. Danke!!
Your site and videos have been so helpful and entertaining! Heading to Berlin this week!
Great to hear! Have fun!
Great video and great suggestions. I wish I saw it before going to Berlin. However, I disagree on the Teufelsberg one. I was able to go all the way up this summer and it was spectacular. It's one of my favorite places of Berlin. I'll check out the bandos next time.
Lovely vids bro, visting Berlin next may from Buenos Aires if covid and authorities allow it.
Your tips are key!
Go for it!
Thank you so much for these videos RL! You really helped me prepare for moving to Berlin (which just happened 😌). Imma visit all of these in due time
Awesome video bro! Keep doing this kind of video, I really enjoyed myself.
Maybe you should do a video about the bests kebab's spots in Berlin!
1:12 Seven Kebap for 23€ are cheap! In the southwest of Germany one can at best get 4,5 for the same price
Edit: You are the german "honest guide". One day I'd love to see the lost places in person.
Nowadays prices are also at 4.5. Maybe there are still cheaper ones but that would be quite rare. I remember that 13 years ago, there was an offer to get a kebab for 1.5 every Wednesday and they were perfectly fine !
Those WOWs are just great. I cant' stop watching time and again. :) @1:37
Great video! I've always wanted to avoid the tourist traps and find the authentic places. I never thought there would be videos on it on RUclips. I'm off to Berlin in a few weeks time so this is great. Thank you 😊
Dame, Hans! This was great. Your humor and accent are real gifts.
Thanks man! you really saved people from spending more of their budget when there're better (and cheaper) alternatives around!
good to see you producing quality videos, I now have some ideas to take my daughters, wow I am glad I went to Toffelberg before when it was free and you could go to the tower. Na Ja geht so
Haha so good! Iam a Berlinerin and totally agree to all of it! Thanks for the Tipp with the Audioguide ... will recommend it to the next visitors ... crazy to see the Blub like that...seems like yesterday I was swimming there 😬
I enjoy watching your episodes, you do a great job!
Thank you very much!
Your videos are so great funny direct and helpfull!!! Thanks! Excited to visit berlin
Happy to hear that! Have fun!
Honestly this video was very well thought out and I enjoyed it. I just stumbled upon it.
Thanks for the tips...can’t wait to get back there. Greetings from down under...
In the 90s my mates and me used to play cross boccia in Humboldthain Park. Probably before the term was even invented. Before that we got some bottles of cheap red wine from the Aldi nearby. Good times!
Amazing video ! I’m loving your videos ☺️
Thank you so much!!
Amazing stuff man!!
Perfect vid for my Berlin Trip this Weekend 👌
Thanks for the advice, I will follow them!!!
Great video! Very entertaining. Thanks for sharing! :)
Thank You so much for this!! We are going in October and this answered my questions. I wanted to stay in a place where food and drink is easily accessible but its not THE tourist place to go lol. And we are very into history so of course the wall but we want to check out other stuff. Thanks again!!!
Awesome vids bro cheers from Tel Aviv ;)
Thanks so much for this. I am coming to Berlin in October and now I know which places to visit!!
Dankeeeee :) great tips!! I just recently moved here and I'm so happy I get to show my friends who are going to visit me some cooler spots of Berlin so thanks a lot!! :)
We are going to Berlin the first week of September. Can't wait!
Thanks for the tips BTW! 🤩
Your channel is awesome, glad I found it :)
The most amazing view of the city is atop the Fernsehturm. Well worth the price in my opinion. You can get a pretty decent lunch at the revolving restaurant on the upper deck for less than 30 euros. I don't usually go to this kind of tourists joint, but it was definitely a highlight of my first time in Berlin, it was just so cool to be up there for an hour. I'm from Kanada by the way and I like your wacky videos.
thanks for all the great info @radical
my pleasure ;)
I live in Berlin, but I always see your videos ,they are funny and useful.Danke sehr:-)
Thanks for the video, great tips and ideas to visit :)
Amazing,
We need more cool info about the city.
Thanks a lot
I have not fall for none of these tourist traps during my stay in Berlin, but thanks for this incredible video!
You missed the best
I loved my experience at the TV tower's revolving restaurant when I last visited Berlin, but it's an excellent video nonetheless. When I visited West Berlin in the 80s, the tower was a very daunting sight ; its ubiquity was like a cocky reminder of the reality of the cold war.
great video, thanks! When I visisted Berlin I also didn't go to the fernsehturm, but instead the Park-In hotel nearby. Much cheaper and way less crowded.
Also I would avoid the east side galary, too many tourists there. There are better places to see the wall. Also, I thought you would mention Charley checkpoint as well, since it's a scam
Thanks! 😄 Yes at the east side gallery are a lot of tourists, but it's for free and the paintings on the wall there are unique. I was going to mention Checkpoint Charlie but they are remodeling the whole area there and they also recently banned the soldiers standing around, so not sure how it will be in the future.
Incredible tips!! I'll be in Berlin in March and I have planned to visit the TV Tower. But the Flak Tower seems much more interesting for me. Thanks a lot :)
Great tips! Going this week !
Great guide with an entertaining twist, really enjoyed it
When I visited Berlin on a overnight trip in 2012 it was because I wanted to get away from Euro 2012 Football Championships that were hosted, among other places, in my hometown Warsaw. Also I wanted to see the Ishtar Gate reconstruction in the Pergamon Museum. I of course saw the most important landmarks of Berlin too, but they were rather on the side of the above priorities. I'd like to come back for a bit longer to see some more though.
Enjoyed your video. Thanks
So good tipps! Thank you
amazing! very helpful .
Another great video mate 👍🇩🇪
Lol, I just got an ad to visit so many of the tourist traps you mentioned.
Thanks buddy ... great video.
nice, im going to berlin in 3 days ! your videos will be my tour guide :D
Thx for your video, it helped me a lot for my first time in Berlin .
I am astonished that you didnt mention THE most obvious tourist trap in Berlin: Checkpoint Charlie
I live for about 10 years in Johannisthal, 200m away from the old airport but never have been to it haha. Definitely have to check it out
