Wasted Punk That is also my favourite part. When I am surviving against him (rare as I prefer killer) I like to listen to that more than any other part. With a more stealthy play style, you get to hear it more.

I honestly think this chapter was a massive success. Pyramid Head's chase music is intense and eerie and his presence alone is intimidating.
Coming from a fan of Silent Hill since childhood, I’m one that actually thinks this version is better. Some say it looses the Silent Hill feeling- I disagree. The ptb version sounds kinda like Silent Hill 1. The live version sounds a hell of a lot more like Silent Hill 2. Since it’s Pyramid Head, Silent Hill 2 is the way to go. It sounds more like metal being hit with force. In Silent Hill 2, there are quite a few tracks that have that same metal sound to them.

Akira Yamaoka's terror music was always all about the loud banging, metal screeching, industrialized sound design.
This one has a lot more SH feeling, especially the Chase part.

As a Silent Hill fan love the fact that this theme is based on the theme "Promise" from Silent Hill 2 starting from layer 2

I have a fear of wind chimes, so you can imagine my fear when I heard 0:32 in game for the first time. I already loved Pyramid Head but hearing that for the first time instantly moved him up to one of the scariest killers in the game for me.
Sounds like quite the fear, I dislike the sound of metal screeching, so you can assume how I feel in temple of purgation when he's right above the bottom floor.
May I ask what caused that fear?
@@grelm1322 I actually don't know, all I remember is hearing wind chimes on a stormy night as a small child and they creeped me out so much then that the creepiness of them has just stuck with me.

Layer 3 and chase makes my heart sink into the void. The 1st and 2nd layer buildup is also quite nice. 10/10
When I first played this game last September, I didn’t even look at the list of Killers before I queued into a lobby with my 3 buddies. I remember looking at the survivors and seeing Steve. I was overjoyed.
My third ever game of DBD was on Midwich. And then I heard those bells and got the heaviest war flashbacks.
“Oh FUCK dude it’s Pyramid Head! He’s coming this way!”
Back when DBD was scary to me, this was nightmare made material. I felt like Laurie Strode seeing Myers all over again (though that would come later). God I love this game.

Tbh I like this version more than PTB because it has a nice blend with a DBD and silent hill vibe. People are complaining about how it's just a clusterfuck at the chase sequence but if you go listen to the boss fight track with pyramid head in SH2 it's just banging mixed with a clutter of sounds. Akira and the BHVR knocked it out of the park with this chapter
Layer 3 has to my favorite, whatever that echoey noise is that plays in the background feels so sick, the metallic vibe of this fits so well
As someone who's starting to get into the Silent Hill games, this theme is amazing and I could see why Yamaoka approved it.

If the killer could hear the far, approaching, and close themes then it would be like playing hot and cold. Giving the killer an advantage.

The reason they added more instruments is you had to have a constant knowledge that you were being chased and a fast paced rhythm(aka a dead by daylight rhythm)is needed for chase musics for that. PTB version was better to listen but didn't give you the chase vibes.

The thing I love the most about dbd is that they capture the essence of the original horror. Silent Hill is one those really.. "different" kinda scary. It's an emotional rollercoaster and dbd captures that perfectly through pyramidhead.
Still one of the best chase themes in the entire game.

The person who helped with the music was one of the main people who made silent Hill And it was hus goal to make the song kind of machinery and whatthefuckery
I wish they had kept his approaching theme in the closer tiers, it is soooo amazing and chills down my spine

[16]: The bells ring, the wind chimes go off; signaling that it is your time to be *executed*
[8]: Your life flashes before your eyes, as you see *something* approaching you.
[C]: You look, blink- blinking twice. You realize it is now starting to run towards you. You know your time is up, but you still try to run.. as it slowly catches up to you.
This is exactly the summarization of how I feel when I first played against an Executioner. I could only sum it up in one word: *FEAR*
The Executioner running is as cursed as Michael Myers running, like imagine how goofy it’d look because we’re so used to their stride.

I enjoy this one SOO MUCH more! The music starting from close by is the scariest shit i’ve heard in game, and i love how they made the theme a lot more metallic and raw, really suits pyramidhead!
I prefer the PTB version too. But trust me, I know this sounds weird, but when you actually hear this in a chase, it works well!

Hot take about the Live and PTB tracks from someone who knows fuckall about Silent Hill
Live version fits better with other chase tracks and that's a cool aspect of it. It has the feel of the original chase tracks yet still feels unique to him.
PTB version felt more odd and mysterious, adding to how strange the Pyramid Head is.
Anyone saying this music isn't appropriate has clearly never played Silent Hill. And if you have, you must be deaf. It's perfect.

I prefer this one a bit more cuz it has a more SH2 vibe to me. Loud metal banging. Just chaos
when the killer is nearby, a sound in the music sounds like his knife that he's dragging around, that's super cool
It isn't in his music it's ambient sound and it adjusts depending if he's draging it through metal wood concrete etc

For everyone complaining about this version, listen to his battle theme in sh2, then youll understand why this is perfect for him
I personally think that the PTB version works for him as well. His theme is called "Betrayal" in SH2 and you can hear a clanking noise in the background for it, which the cowbell would emulate. The PTB is mostly this same theme (with obviously some differences) as the live, just without the cowbells and a bit more metal music vibe. Live version doesn't have any clanking noises, which pulls a little farther from his theme than PTB, in my opinion. The clanking sounds stand out the most to me in his theme than the bass.
On the other hand, live version also has that eerie rustling sound of cords being played really fast and a bassier sound, which emulates more of the base part of his song better.
All in all, both seem to work well with him, as both have different aspects that compliment his theme over the other. I personally think PTB sounds cooler, more hectic and creepier. All personal opinion, though!
I miss the chimes from the bells...but this is still scary to hear when this dude is chasing you.
