i'm from boston too and ended up spontaneously moving to Miami for 2 years but now I want to be back in boston! sometimes you just need to get your fix but nothing is like being home in boston🤍
Coming from someone who knows what they’re talking about, look at Chicago neighborhoods like Gold Coast, Streeterville, River North, Lincoln Park, and maybe even Wicker Park. Wolf Point is really nice, but it’s not near your ideal shops and grocery stores. I know you’ll have car, but part of living in Chicago is it being so walkable which you’d want to enjoy.
Wolf point is actually an amazing spot! You’re right by Fulton market which is known to be the best place to live in Chicago. Definitely best neighborhood to live in.
like others have said, I think you should tour a few more apartments in multiple cities and visit other neighborhoods in chi besides downtown to get a full view! I’m from here and trust me, just staying downtown is not how the city will always be and may give you a misleading perception. great video though 🤍
On the water / hair note: you can get a filter from home depot or lowes that hooks onto your shower head and makes the water less “hard” they’re good for a year and I can tell a HUGE difference when it’s time to change the filter
I couldn’t believe how cold it was. I’m in San Francisco and I complain about it being freezing cold but when you showed the weather I was like oh hell no! I see why you dress so warm!! You dress really nice ! You seem minimali!! Love love it!! 💕💕💕
I’d keep visiting chi, but I don’t think you’d like living there long-term! majority of Chicago can feel unsafe and it makes it hard to stay. But I def see you and emma in Orange County! it has that suburb feel you like while still being around things and is warm!!
^^^ agreed. i'm from a suburb 20 mins from the city and i used to want to live there so bad. now i dread going to the city. very unsafe & can be scary- i've been followed/ harassed many times while walking the streets (not even bad areas) it's a beautiful place but i would never live there
every city is dangerous!! chicago is beautiful and culturally rich and it deserves some love. gets a bad rep in the media but it’s a wonderful place to live
@@kelseyshoults3201 I completely agree! all cities like you said have their faults but also have great pros too. I just think because Maggie has only visited a few times and it’s just been downtown, she may be disappointed if she fully commits and realizes it’s not just Gold Coast or river north! I’d just keep my options open :)
@@elenalukin9730 I totally feel you!! lovely city to visit in the summer, spring, and fall, but can definitely be a lot. especially since Maggie has been adamant about bigger cities feeling too much sometimes too!
@@kelseyshoults3201 agreed! Chicago has so many cultural gems and a lot of ppl tend to label it. Crime has increased nationwide, across many big cities, not just Chicago.
If you look more in Chicago check out streeterville. Lots of luxury buildings, very very safe and dog friendly neighborhood. Right by the lake and a giant park.
As far as you mentioning the water in different cities , check out the difference between hard and soft water. Makes a difference in showering and your skin/hair!
people was saying flordia def looks like your vibe. But in my opinion I feel like u in Chicago just fits make sense. And loved the music when you was driving round town @ night. Keep being you. 🤍✨🙌🏻
Maggie it’d be so cool if you toured apartments in Florida, Cali, or anywhere else you’re interested too and compared in a video! that’d be so fun to watch 🤍
Maggie!!! I’ve been following your vlogs for the longest time, and just saw that you were in Chicago. I worked at RPM Italian over the summer and I was gonna be like you def have to go, but you already did hahah. Anyways I’m a marketing intern for them this summer, and now you have to try RPM seafood it’s chefs kiss. Hope to see you around Chicago❤️
wait maggie, you should totally move to chicago! Im loving this look for you. I did not know chicago was looking that good in the more expensive areas. and that window shot overlooking the water. stunning. I would so be into chicago vlogs
Omg if u move to Chicago u MUST visit Michigan beach towns in the summer they’re my little secret. Honestly heaven and so underrated 🤍 Towns like Saugatuck, grand haven, Leland and traverse city !
You should get a filter head for your shower in Boston!! I’m a hairstylist and you might have hard water that contains minerals and stuff that isn’t good for your hair!! You could deff find a cheap one on Amazon you’ll deff feel a difference if you use that:)))💜
Next time you’re in Chicago look into staying at the Hoxton Hotel in the Fulton Market to get a feel for that area. Can see you loving it there if you’re considering moving. Hoxton is my fav hotel in Chi
I would love to run into you guys! Any plans on visiting DC?! 🙂 I absolutely love Chicago!! The apartment looked stunning and that view is insane! Do you mind sharing the price?
definitely check out Gold Coast / old town. they're right by river north but have a little more homey feel to them. downtown is beautiful & fun but it's also not super safe. also you should also try meeting some new Chicago friends!!!
Well if you live in Chicago, you can fly east back to Boston, West to LA and Southeast to Florida. Not sure if it's shorter to Florida, but definitely is the biggest city in between the coasts! Vegas is closer too lol! You're used to the Winters, but Chicago summers are AMAZING in the city, so much going on and not as hectic as New York. I wouldn't live in Florida b/c of the humidity, and y'know hurricanes lol. LA is nice but y'know Earthquakes and wildfires. And crime, gangs, shootings etc etc etc...everywhere you go it's the same. Never let your guard down anywhere. OMG that unit you were looking at, right on the river next to the Merchandise Mart!
Maggie, I just can’t see you living in Chicago…I think that living there would take away your wanderlust for the city. I could see you having a place in Boston and in Florida
Hey Maggie! You should try a hard water filter on your shower head! I have a well at my house and after putting the filter on I could tell the biggest difference in my hair. Hope it helps💜
lol don’t listen to people on here that say “Chicago is high on crime rate,” and giving the city that they never probably even visited a bad name. I’ve lived in Chicago THE CITY my entire life, and I love it. I wouldn’t settle in living in River North. IMO, it fell off. Try West Loop where Nobu is at or Lake View. There’s luxury apartments in Wrigleyville that look stunning with so much to do in the area.
don’t feel discouraged by the “chicago is dangerous” comments. every city is dangerous & if you’re in love & inspired by chicago, move. downtown is definitely where you would feel most comfortable but I think there are plenty of other neighborhoods you could live that would put you close to the city but give you a suburban vibe.

omg MAGGIE doing that at nobu is SO fun i love when they surprise us they do notttt miss
This vlog is amazing.. The view on that apartment is to die for !!
i agree with you on the water everytime i wash my hair at a hotel it's always so soft compared to when i wash it at home it feels dry

this!! completely agree. crime is so rampant and while Chicago is a beautiful city, it’s more than just Gold Coast and Lincoln park
@@elizabethl3863 yes!!! other areas of the city can be dangerous :/
