Excellent video Sir! I deployed there a little over three years ago. As an E-7 I was fortunate to have my own room, until my replacement came on six months later. The room was exactly like yours. Not a bad deployment at all!
Wow! Completely different than when I was there in the late 90’s. We had nothing but tents and trailers.
Went there on R&R from Baghdad in 2004. I’ll leave at, it was awesome and I couldn’t have been more jealous.
LT Salazar! Awesome video sir! Glad to have had the opportunity to work with you. Take care!
Very useful, thank you for taking the time to share that info!
I was there in 03, we still had the tents and the wagon wheel. I preferred the tents because we had privacy, albeit it came from shower curtain walls but I slept like a baby with the plenum blowing out nice AC 24/7. The dorms were just finishing up construction and making ready for occupancy.
Was there in 01 and 02 ! Services !
I also was there in 03! Camp Andy. I remember the wagon wheel well. Were you there when it got shut down for the phantom 💩er? Someone took a crap on one of the tables one night and it was found the next day🤣 It was a big event. If I remember correctly, they closed the wagon wheel down for a few days until the person was caught.
I liked my tent spot. AC worked good and privacy. All makeshift dividers like you said - shower curtains, comforters, plywood scraps, etc. Good times. I wish I still had my pictures. I was just happy not to be in Iraq. Thought for sure I'd be going. Got Al Dhafra for my 2nd deployment in 2005. Lucky I guess
I left before that happened, glad I did. One memory was my friend was doing CE remod work in the CAC. (I think that's what it was called) Anyway where the high ranking officers were doing their thing he found 2 porn DVD's behind a wall he demo'd and gave me one for my portable DVD player from the BX. As you'll recall Porn was not allowed in country. I watched it that night not realizing my headphones weren't plugged in completely. I was upset about how crappy the volume was and was shocked how loud the moaning was when I removed my headphones. The next day some airman said loudly "someone was watching porn last night" as I maintained a shocked attitude. I laugh often about that night. I was leaving 2 days later so all was cool. @@joeg5414
Also there in 03. The words "camp andy" brought back so much nostalgia and the wagon wheel. Still had a tent city that cooked you to death in the daytime, if it was your day off.
My last deployment these things were brand new and no one lived in them yet kinda cool to see the inside of them
Thanks for the video. I know what to expect now going there.
Glad it was helpful!
That place has changed so much in just the last few years. Wow
Heading there next week! Should be fun!!
I was here in 2006-07, base looks nothing like it used to. Very nice
Thank you for this video.
Thanks for sharing!
Gosh I miss it. Was there in '11 - '12. Would like to somehow finish my career off back in Al Udeid.
Thanks for the the info
I totally support your mission in the ME. America needs to be there. Glad to see what taxpayer dollars are buying. It seems having single rooms could work and then two units share a bathroom and kitchen. They could find another bigger TV and speakers for that media room.
Thanks for your information sir
Thanks alot for this video it's really helpful . Question please . as an Interpreter will I get like this room or still like back in days stay in a tent . Thanks
Wow, they have dorms now and internet on site. How times has changed. Only thing you need now is a club and 4/5 star restaurant and you're all set, like you never left home :)
I’m getting ready to head there this week. LT you never told me you were famous😂😂. Don’t wanna put my last name on RUclips but I worked with you in MDT. Hope you and the family are well.
Yeah man glad I could help! Tracking the name too!
Super helpful. Thanks man
Great video !! Thank you for sharing. I hope you can post more about Al Udied and what Airmen can expect when they go!!! It’s a great great help!!! Also are there showers out in the hallway?!? Or do all 4 people have to use that 1 shower in that suite set up??? Also, do you ever run into problems of having to use the bathroom in that room to get ready for work but can’t because someone else is in it??? Thank you in advance!!!!
All 2-4 people would use that shower in the BPC dorms. As far as waiting for the shower/toilet, this is wholly dependent on your suitemate's schedule relative to your own. It is not a problem with my current set up. There are no common showers in the hall.
@@americanjagers6754 sir! Thank you for the thoughtful and descriptive answer! Helps a lot! Also! Are we allowed off base right now?? To go to banana island and that fancy mall in Doha like 30 minutes off base? ( of course I understand if you can’t say due to OPSEC ) I just didn’t know if there was still covid restrictions.
Improved a lot since 2003! I liked my tent spot though. Good times. Lucky to not be in Iraq.
In 2016 BPC was E7 and above, one person per bedroom that shared that kitchen common area. So it was 2 people per suite.
Kind of surprised to see that they are doubling up all ranks now. But they also had these trailer type quarters there back then too for all E6 and below. I assume they closed down/demolished all that stuff if they are making people double up in the BPC.
Trailer town, otherwise known as Q town, was for persons testing positive for Covid and those outprocessing. The doublestacks are usually for the E5s and below, depending on the unit, and the BPC was for the E5 and up, also depending on the unit. When I was there, they were starting to make BPC style buildings next to the double stacks.
not in the AF (i’m Army) but ill be deploying there soon
you there yet?
That setup sucks imo. They should have ditched the kitchen and just make it a 2 bedroom setup.
Yeah , they have DFAC so I don’t understand why a kitchen is needed
Wait a minute! CGOs have to share rooms at the Deid? I recenetly deployed to ADAB, UAE and SNCOs and above had their own personal rooms!
Shit I was at the the Deid in 2016 and had my own room for 3 months, as an A1C lol
Do contractors live the same way as military?
Depends. See my other video.
I am working in bpc
dAYUM that place spiffed up a lot since the last time i was there (2014)
Great videos… I have a possible job offer from Boeing to work on the base, my question is, do you know where contractors for Boeing stay?
F15 APG Crew Chief
Any update regarding this?
Is there any WiFi ?
Quanto metros tem a base aérea de Qatar ❤😊
Are the beds standard length or long?
Hi so my husband will arrive there tomorrow and he’s to be deployed for a year but gets to have a break between after 6 months will he have a roommate ?
thats my question as well, i am deploying here too
Not typically. 365 deployers have more benefits.
Is there space a
D8 is not set up like that at all
How'd you go from enlisted to CGO. And that's your job now
I applied through OTS and am currently a 17D.
salazar??? whats up man!
Man wtf, I had to sleep in a filthy tent for 3 months while I was there in 2000s.
Do you really need to lock your bike on an army base? It's not like it's going anywhere.
It's an Air Base, and people ABSOLUTELY steal bikes there lol.
