i miss that tightener on all other Smock type jackets... - i had the Buffalo special six , got the Extreme Smock from Montane (which is the warmest) two from Arktis (the A212 Swat Shirt) - one with Real wool one with fleece... The Buffallo Special Six is the best fitting with the best features (Pocket config, tightener in the front pocket, hood..)
@@WoolysWorld yeah , kind of true :-) i forgot to mention: the Montane one is warmer compared to the Bufallo - those two from Aktis are nice too (i really like Artkis) but they do only the fleece version these days and that fleece is THE thinnest i ever touched... - the one with real wool ist much warmer...and of course Better!
@@easygroove I had the montane extreme smock and found it to warm, the jacket I loved. I'm still wearing a buffalo nearly every day , not the one I the video a green one, I'd live a buffalo with a cotton canvas outer, better suited for bushcraft and rough work I get up to
@@WoolysWorld Yes - this Pertex likes fire :-) i got a cheap Russian Gorka Uniform for that reason... Its Cotton and a BombProof outer layer (Montane could improve their Quality Control... like the Velcro for the Kangaroo Pocket got loos after a few months...) best regards
@@WoolysWorld yeah damn right... And if you ever want cheap snugpak items I sell their "seconds" from time to time. I can get their top stuff for a huge discount. 😏
Mmmnn, tough one that, I suppose it depends on the activity, montane if I'm standing about a lot, buffalo for active , they are both great, but different
I had a snugpak sj6 jacket zip went after 18months but prob only 5 months of actual use as I didnt use it in summer contacted snugpak and they said it was out of the 12months warranty so £129 for 5months use i wouldn't touch snugpak again cheap zips.
How about Buffalo vs Montaine? You really helped me by making this video and i’d rather spend the money and get the right one, than buy a Snugpak for £50 second hand and not get on with it.
Haha, I just put the snugpak up for sale, might get the montane, I have the montane extreme jacket and it's brilliant, the fact that you get a great hood is a big plus, thanks for watching , don't forget to hit the sub button
Nice review! I have a Montaine extreme and a Buffalo mountain shirt. The Montaine is far superior made and thought out in my opinion but I find it quite heavy. The Buffalo is my go to even though I find the zips get stuck on the weather flap. I wish they would put a zip guard on the zip around the throat as I find it digs into my Adam’s apple, that would make it perfect imo. I bought the hood and sewed the mouth flap on which is a great mod. Even though the Montaine is better is I still reach for the Buffalo every time. Cheers.
Don't forget to like and subscribe guys and girls.
Cheers buddy
I loved my old Mardale pile shirt
Now where did they ever go to
Good vid. Cheers.👍🏻
Cheers Hal
