The Isle is intended to be a gritty, open-world survival horror game. Explore vast landscapes of dense forest and open plains, traverse treacherous mountains and wade through dark swamps where horrors lurk. Hidden within are ruins that hold insight as to what came before.

Do you happen to have any good community server suggestions?
@@hollyrex I only tend to play on officials because most of the community servers have way too many rules and are p2w so I would recommend sticking to officials
@@hollyrex Petit Pieds is the best community server from experience. Great admins, simple rules.
@@hollyrex I used to never play on community servers cause they were very clique-y and had too many rules.
Atm most of the community servers are dead or dying with one exception, Petit Pieds. They used to have a few mods that played favorites a little, but they appear to have resolved that entirely(been playing there A LOT lately and seen no abuses of mod powers)
The rules are simple. Carnivores cant mixpack, and no megapacks
The server pop is 250. (compared to 100 on Officials)
I havent experienced hardly any lag there either, and Im in the states(their server is in EU).... I lag(rubberband, desync, extended hitboxes) on Officials somewhat regularly, no matter which one I use, for comparison.
Do with that information what you will, but I used to never play on community servers.
That said Officials got too many hackers, and Petit at once seemed to get their problems(that all community servers had had issues with) with bad moderation under control. They also have much higher server pop and better ping/no lag(which beyond the server itself means if any other community servers get their stuff together, theyve proven the game can reliably handle 250 people with proper back end support, something the devs refuse to do for Officials, but apparently is possible)

Love this game! Haven’t played it as much as DayZ but I do have a couple of tips. Be careful when you push tab: the server you’re on shows in the upper right corner. And just like DayZ starting out is rough but you’ll get the hang of it pretty quick. Also, till you can one shot em be careful with boars and if you go for a baby mom will attack

@@hollyrex the server owner has dedicated alot of time to make things run fairly and smoothly, as well as implementing a lot of cool features and balancing adjustments. you will have the best experience playing there Im sure. good luck

Regarding the migration and patrol zones. They're more useful to herbivores than carnivores since the herbivore's diets are more dependent on them. Carnivores can generally get diet anywhere that there are other players. That's why your first group headed to the South Plains. It's always been a hotspot for player activity so they could've gotten at least some diet there, in spite of it not being a migration zone, had they survived more than two steps into it. However if you're looking for other players of your species then migration zones are a decent way to do that since there's usually at least one other of your kind wanting to go there. Really though, once you learn the map, the spawn areas are more reliable for that.
