Inside Sydney’s Deadly Drug Empire - Neil Mercer PART 2 | I Catch Killers Notorious gangster Neddy Smith and crooked cop Roger Rogerson were the princes of Sydney’s lucrative but deadly drug kingdom. An attempted assassination of undercover cop Mick Drury, the violent murder of Sallie-Anne Huckstepp and the brazen laneway shooting of Warren Lanfranchi. These were just some crimes committed in the murky underworld that award-winning crime reporter Neil Mercer reveals the truth behind. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin True Crime Australia Listen on Apple Podcasts ► Connect With True Crime Australia Online: bit.ly/46xCXDb ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Subscribe To Our True Crime Australia RUclips Channel: bit.ly/3iU23Fm ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Follow Us on Facebook: facebook.com/TrueCrimeAustralia ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Listen Now on Apple Podcasts: link.chtbl.com/icatchkillersyoutube ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00 - Introduction - Neil Mercer 03:21 - Shooting of Warren Lanfranchi 10:54 - Roger Rogerson loses his shine 12:35 - The shooting of undercover cop Mick Drury 24:26 - Roger Rogerson's tell all interview 29:44 - Murder of Sallie-Anne Huckstepp 36:01 - Roger Rogerson goes to jail 38:56 - Neddy Smith goes to jail 48:34 - What happened to Roger Rogerson? 01:01:14 - Crooked cop and crims #truecrime #truecrimeaustralia #crime #crimestory #crimejunkie
"he pulled a gun,but roger got his out 1st"? how is that possible.either he pulled the gun 1st or he didnt, and Roger got his out 1st ."theres other stuff, and we wont go into the detail about the firearm he was supposedly to be carrying and all sorts of things, what he was wanted for at the time, the shooting of a police officer " "yeah its murky and theres a smell about it""Gary you where a top detective in NSW police,so call it like it is, dont play politics, if this was your case im sure you wold push harder than"we wont go into detail"
I remember seeing a rogerson interview where he said Warren attempted to pull a pistol but it got caught up in his waistband. Roger than pulled his and put 2 rounds into him. If that was true, than yes totally possible for Warren to pull first but still lose the fight.
The Interviews that Neil Mercer did with Roger Rogerson had me nearly convinced that Roger was totally innocent, that was the ability of Rogerson to have you eating out of the palm of his hand. He could 'spin a line' better than anyone around. He would have been a good used car salesman. Neil Mercer is amazing and I can't wait to buy his book. Cheers.
In the 60s as a kid I remember my old man putting us all ( six kids) n the car late at night and driving to the Cross where he met a bloke in a lane. My older brother reckons it had something to do with Al Grassby. The old man was only a plumber but I don’t think a plumber gets paid in a lane in the Cross at midnight, so I don’t know as I was a kid, what he was into,

Brilliant Show Gary.. and Great to see Neil Mercer again, what a Legend
I would like to know who were the higher ups protecting Rogerson ?
Roger was so old school he forgot about the Cameras .
he was just arrogant and thought he could do whatever he liked

Not wrong

Thanks Gary and Neil, enjoyed every minute of it. 👍
Thank you for this Gary & Neil ❣️ So do we think Neddy's wife knew all his moody moves ? R.I.P Sally Anne.🕊️

Vale, Sally. You were a brave one.

Up there with the best, love to hear more from Neil Mercer, he's great !
Gary Cooper in High Noon 😂 cracked me up
What about Brian Alexander & Mr Asia? They played a big role with Roger
Rogers problem was that he thought he was too smart for everyone
Great interview!I used to see Neil in pubs at Balmain. Terry bald run over Ned
Rest In Peace, Sally Anne Huckstead.
Michael Drury was Relocated to Gladstone Park back in the days!! Alan Williams lived around the corner the same time
In Melbourne?
be handy if a link to part 1 was here :)
This pod is excellent…..Yes I’m a true crime ghoul.
What about bent cops in the 90s pre and post Royal Commission ?
Thank you for this Gary and Neil.
How can people continue to say Rogerson was “untouchable” when clearly he was “touched.” He was sacked and eventually went to jail.
I don't see how Ned Smith can be so close to the police and not be a dog.
Still got, a ZH 500 with bullet holes that was Arthurs
Still a fast car
Arthur's? Neddys?
Warren got left a gift by Rogerson...
I knew Christine Flannery when she owned the Jolly Frog car hire in Cairns, QLD in the late 80's early 90's.
Congratulations, would you like a medal?
Warren was a distant cousin.
Definitely conspiracies happen
I can’t see you as a detective mate. I’d like to have been a fly on the wall in the interview room
Smith killed Warren the Sally Anne btw.
Rodger killed Warren, that’s a known fact.
He was a very greedy man.
Rodger Rogerson.. The gift that keeps on giving.
Yyy
Roger only ever hit the bad guys and took out the trash
He was a garbage bin...worse than the crooks
