- www.UnderThePup... - I've asked some of my favorite puppeteers to bring in their favorite pieces of puppetry for us to look at these popular scenes from a puppeteer's point of view!
This week my guest is Drew Massey and we watch Feed Me from the 1986 film Little Shop of Horrors directed by Frank Oz.

It is ABSOLUTELY the best puppetry ever put to film. The horrible luck to go against Aliens for special effects for an Academy Award
I love this movie. The puppetry is first rate. The singer Levi Stubbs doesn’t get enough credit for his performance as Audrey II.
I’ve loved this movie forever and I didn’t know about the half speed, that’s amazing. What I love about the puppet and the shots is that it’s so perfectly detailed. Nothing is ever still, something always moving.
I'd never seen "Little Shop of Horrors" before, and this clip convinced me to track it down and watch it.
You’ll love it. Such a great film.
@@saturdaymorningmedia It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed it - I definitely plan to watch it again. However, I made the tactical error of watching it right before bed, and I couldn't fall asleep for having so many different songs run through my head. We need more Roger Corman movies turned into musicals.
Little Shop of Horrors is a classic. Have you seen the alternate ending?
Yep! We talk about it in the video.
I did a video on this movie and got into the original ending. I actually think the test audience got it right.
Just wondering where Drew's Brian Henson story comes from if he can remember?
Im currently working on a book about this film and trying to get as many sources as possible.
Thanks!
Probably from Brian himself, I'd imagine. Drew works with him often.
@@saturdaymorningmedia I appreciate it!!
Please, if it's relevant, do at least one video on DARK CRYSTAL, my favorite kids movie and a brilliant use of practical effects.
Love this! And it’s great seeing Uncle Interloper again!
Thanks!!
Could I get wrapped up WITH Sigourney Weaver?
