During lockdown I purchased a lot of wet wipes. All dried out by now, yet, it only needs a bit of water and it is good to use. Fragrance still there.

If those wet wipes had alcohol in them it will evaporate with the water.

The best prepper investment one can make is to go online or to your nearest surplus/outdoor equipment store and buy a handful of P-38 can openers. They only cost a quarter each in the right places and put one on your key chain, one in your go bag, one in a wallet or purse....anywhere really. You can also get the larger P-51 opener if you decide to use it as a primary means of opening cans.

I have some old globes that I put solar lights in and lined my garden path with them. Just use the ones you stick in the ground and put them thru the globes into the ground. I also use old lamps and remove the wiring etc, there's a hole in the top to put on solar lights in as well. I have several of these outside in my yard. You can also, use E6000 and attach them to the lamps.😊

Retired and single I don't use cooking oil that often. My Corn and Beans are doing great in my garden. Only 2 Tomato plants and 2 Sunflowers came up. Lettuce is not doing well. Carrots, Basil and Cantaloupe did not come up. Watermelon are just starting to come up. Thank goodness I am getting decent rain here in West Central Indiana. Dandelions in my yard used to be plentiful but this year only one or two dandelions come up each day. My fruit trees are not doing well either except my Persimmons. Last year storms knocked so many Persimmons from the trees before they were ripe that I did not get any Persimmons last year. What few that were ripe, I let wildlife have. I know deer love Persimmons.

I've also done the old light globe trick with solar garden light tops set on the top. It works great! If I ever need to use candles and don't have a lantern your idea will be filed away in my gray matter. I recently found a recipe for a grilled SPAM and pineapple sandwich and it looked really good. (It was Gordon Ramsey) It was on Hawaiian buns (which could be stashed in your freezer) with pineapple (which could be canned rings), teriyaki sauce, grilled peppers (which could be canned), miso mayo and grilled onions (which could be pickled) if I have to grill out of necessity or desire, I will probably try it. I just don't have miso or teriyaki sauce...yet.
I've also watched a few different videos on re-using cans for hobo stoves, and small glass jars (either in conjunction with a can or without) to make lanterns to hang with a carry wire attached. I've got decorative/functional lanterns, but it's filed away in case I need to make a few for the unprepared. If that's the case, I will be charging money for my tacky/trashy handicrafts since anybody can make them from their own trash/recycling. People need to do it for themselves and realize that if you don't, it will cost you. Anybody can do it for free.
Unmatched socks in emergency kits for the unprepared can be used for pot holders, unmatched socks, wash cloths, soap holders, coin purses (if there are no holes), toiletries, rolls of TP (rolled small for camping) and small prepping supplies. Perhaps to stash your trowel for digging your cat hole so as to keep the other things in your pack clean. Anything else for unmatched socks?

Great tip about the meat and protein canned foods. Right now, keep a close eye on the stock in your grocery store. We were surprised a year ago to find our local Kroger affliate suddenly discontinued ALL brands of canned turkey! Then recently a canned beef in gravy was also discontinued at the same store. Keep an eye out for the signs that say they are being discontinued, the prices may be more reasonable than usual but good to get them before they are no longer available. Some of the farmers and ranchers are finding that they are being forced to sell or limit their herds which means some meats could soon be less available. If you like to buy seeds, sign up for the email notifications for those companies you like to get first notice of a sale. This time of year some might be already offering some seeds on sale that are this year's seeds, which are still useable for next year most seeds stored carefully can be used for several more years. Seeds have gone up in price each year recently and for less seeds in the packets, so getting some on sale and putting in a good storage container is smart.

I used to decorate cans to give cash/gift csrd gifts. Remove the bottom with a safety can opener. Empty contents, remove label, and wash can throughly.
Cut scrapbooking paper to fit around and adhere with double-sided tape.
Put gift in can and, using double-sided tape, adhere lid to can. Decorate top with ribbons if desired.
Note: because the bottom is adhered only with tape, make sure the contents are lightweight. For heavier items, such as jewelry, use a heavy-duty glue.

Glass pickle jars, salsa jars, etc have the metal lids. Those are great for oil lamps. Don't forget to add some lemon balm or lavender to help hide the scent of rancid oil. Also if you save your oil after a few uses you can still strain it out, store in glass jars, and be ready to use. Leave the hole and wicks for last so it doesn't accidentally spill. Maybe you could use old oil to waterproof items? Thanks for the video!
