So true. Regardless of what certain games or anime would have you believe. Specific martial technologies were supplanted for a reason, and as such, guns beat bows every time/also spells. Whichever fantasy world you ascribe to, spells almost always require incantations. On the other hand, guns require the pulling of a trigger, and can disgorge anywhere from seven to nine hundred rounds per minute (m4a1). So, modern military beats fantasy armies any day of the week.

Agreed, the only reason why the empire had any victories at all when facing against the japanese (such as the attack on the japanese embassy) was because the japanese military was holding back, and plus the lack of any other military nations making their way to this fantasy world. The United States would have easily wiped out this fantasy world due to their superior military and even taken control of the japanese presence there had it not been for the portal being located in Tokyo. The AC130, A-10 warthog, M1 Abrams tanks, Apache helicopters and even the small arms the United States military has such as the M4A1 assault rifle, the M9 side arm, the M249 Light Machine gun. Plus the special ops units that the United States military has such as the Army Rangers and Navy Seals. I'm not saying that the Japanese military is inferior to the American forces, I'm just saying that the United States have a completely different mindset when it comes to occupying foreign soil.

Eh. Anime logic.
If you want logic from me. The weapon looks like a 9mm or 45 mm ACP. So the assassin was moving at high speed, and he can't move right, due to wall, and if he moved left, it would close the distance between him and the assassin. And if he moved left, the bullet could go through the wall injuring JSDF personnel. Hence he shot forward, and you saw the civilian duck and cover, so you either die or attempt to stop the assassin with small arms, cause MP is slow.
And so, the JSDF said "Wrong neighborhood, motherfucker-san."

Gate freaking a war between two countries

Hmmm Kuribayashi vs Tanya would be an interesting match. Seriously, though, when do we get Gate 2?
Well I can partially answer that. The reason we might not is because as said in the anime, in the city of Rondel, the old lady said that the gate would close every couple years or so. Now obviously the JSDF have time to find the stragglers. But the peace treaty stated that if the empire and Japan agreed, that Japan would leave through the gate.
That is the problem, the writers would have a hard time to think of an effective storyline unless it does not involve the gate closing.
Now the other option is to show the JSDF sticking around to deal with the stragglers and imprison or eliminate them. Then show the very sad and depressing extraction through the gate. And then the unknown.
Now obviously, my rendition and exactly a good storyline, but the thing is the writers have no where to go, unless another major event happens in the special region or Japan.
It is unlikely the latter unless Japan gets invaded. (Again)
So that is why I think its unlikely for gate 2 to happen, but it could happen so eh.
As I said before. The JSF was playing nice. And the Empire was lucky it wasn't fighting one of the more powerful nations like the U.S.A, Russia, China. Sure we would fight by the rules of war but we wouldn't be sitting idly by waiting for the empire to attack again we will launch attacks in order to end the war quickly. Russia and China well my guess is they wouldn't be playing real nice at all. Hell in the show China leader said he wanted to move half of the Chinese population there. So be thankful empire that you only messed with a defensive military.

This is really good, but doesn’t really fit the anima. They attacked first yes, but wear the ones invading by middle of the first season.
