- Kavaledurga Fort, built in the 9th century and renovated in the 14th century, has three concentric granite walls following the hill's natural shape. Inside, it features temples like the Shikhareshvara temple at the summit, offering views of the western horizon, and the ruins of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The palace area includes a large courtyard, pillared verandah, kitchen with a stone oven, and a well-designed water system. The fort has historical significance, having been besieged by one of the Islamic invader Aurangazeb’s general, Jaan Nisar Khan, highlighting its importance in regional military history.
