Wow! The dark, saturated colors are so good! Your use of lighting is what really sets the spaces apart and is creating a lot of drama and interest. That laundry room is also fab. I love the trick with re-doing the grout & the bit of tile paint. I think this is the classiest, smoothest, most well produced home tour I've ever seen. Well done!

Haha - I’m glad you managed to compromise! I totally understand why some people like the minimalist style, it can be quite soothing, but I think I’d miss the cozy vibes and I love to have lots of soft textures about the place. Maybe we are restrained maximalists? 😂

I love that wall 😍 I did actually record some voiceover about it but when editing I thought the lounge section was taking too long 😂😂 so I cut out that part but so glad you asked - it has a bit of a story… it was originally the same deep blue as the rest of the room but there were lumps and bumps that caught the light in a horrible way and in the end I found it so distracting I decided to hand paint a sort of plaster effect to embrace the bumpiness 😂 it worked out really well. A mixture of dry-brushing and using strips of cardboard to drag the lighter paints across the surface. Was very fun to do ☺️
I absolutely love your living room. Your kitchen is just like the one I had in my previous flat and I too strived to keep the worktop clutter free. If I recall correctly, I manged to get it down to the kettle, toaster, glass cutting board and utensils caddy. My bathroom is also black and white - two walls are painted black, and the biggest expanse is covered in a leaf pattern monochrome wallpaper. I am hopeless with plants, probably because I don't care for indoor flowers or greenery, and have managed to let die the plant that was a gift.
Oh wow the bathroom sounds lovely! It’s funny with plants - I used to be terrible with them too but I think I just used to overwater them! And some seem to like different spots in the flat more than others. I suppose it’s just good to experiment! 🌱🌱😀🙂

Wonder if you've tried Photoflood lights, Phillips make/made them. Still obtainable though Tungsten filament. Unfortunately the lowest wattage seems to be 275 - but with a suitable shade, ok! It's like living underneath the mid-Summer sun, flowers look just as they do in a sunny garden. (I don't have it on all the time..)

Wonder if you've tried Photoflood lights, Phillips make/made them. Still obtainable though Tungsten filament. Unfortunately the lowest wattage seems to be 275 - but with a suitable shade, ok! It's like living underneath the mid-Summer sun, flowers look just as they do in a sunny garden. (I don't have it on all the time..)
