Good tips, especially the one about over-estimating your consecutive mileage capabilities. I've only toured using hostels and B&Bs so I was travelling light - almost like a series of day rides using normal road kit. I recognised Shepherd's Rest & London Rd in the first half of your video, it looked nice and dry up there. Good luck with the prep for the Scottish adventure
Thanks. Yes, the tracks and trails are starting to dry out now (finally!). Cheers for that old 3 peaks programme link, it's on the to-watch list for sure.
My best tip-start simple & small. My first bike touring adventure was a manageable distance overnight ride from home to a hotel and then back home the next day. I particularly appreciated your tip about getting yourself ready. A list of us go on a long weekend ride, but getting yourself on the bike again the next morning is a whole new thing-good reason to stay flexible in your planning, too.
Good tip to start small and simple. Home to a hotel and back can make for a great couple of days' riding and mini tour experience. Thanks for the comment and happy cycling!
