Hi Neil. Well I used the shape from the original chairs to make the former for the backs, so the general form is very similar. The main difference is that the back is nicely padded, so the sit is very comfortable indeed. The other advantage of a padded back is that my braces do not damage the chair. Metal clasps and polished wood are not good bedfellows and I have damaged more than one chair that way.
