hello hello! congratulations on the 💯th episode, and what a nice twist haha!
remembering Vray, I skipped it entirely it looked super technical 😂
I also started with paint but a much later version,I was running Windows Me in 07, I had a Pentium 3 which maxed out at 665Mhz (close), one of my friends had the Pentium 4 it was my first time seeing a cpu with Ghz instead of Mhz
thanks to you alongside other amazing artists for sharing the knowledge 🌟
excited for what's next, and I wish you a great week ahead 🙌

Hey hey and thank you very much. As always it's a joy seeing you have commented and then reading through the comment.
Don't worry about V-Ray, it's only really interesting if you used it once.
About the computers. Always love hearing the story from others. Super nice. It's crazy to me that a processor with 25 Mhz could run a GUI very fluently. Something has gone wrong at some point. It can't be that modern processors struggle UI. I don't like the inefficiency. Because it also means more heat, more cooling, more electricity, just because someone is lazy to optimize the system so it would run on a lower specked processor... ha ha sorry, sometimes I get lost thinking about stuff like this!
P.s. the machine you only see the screens of in the V-Ray Part is also a Intel Pentium 4 with actually 3 Ghz and hyperthreading. So one core, two threads. It still felt slow to render complicated scenes ha ha ha.
I have an idea what's next 😇 I just don't know if it will be ready in time. Either this week or next week! Hint 🧵
Cheers and an amazing start into this week to you!

    • @0zaidi
      @0zaidi 15 дней назад

@@SilverwingVFX of course, i cheated and wanted to cap it at a 100 words for the occasion haha, i deleted a portion where i had a story about Photoshop and 128MB of ram, but I'll save those for now
i knew vray from my architect friends, as it was all the craze alongside corona, and some used arnold, speaking of arnold I wish we could get the dual anisotropy in the standard volume shader
and yeah optimization is always a hassle these days, an os (which should be peak optimization) can eat a lot of ram by itself, but we got used to throwing money (more hardware) on those problems until it became the norm sadly
ooh i can imagine that it would be difficult to render anything decent quickly on a dual thread system, speaking of threads, that's a nice hint, excited for the video already, cheers! ✨

I actually have worked with Houdini before. Mainly at Axis Studio where I did a couple of gigs. Of course I am far away from a master there.
Wile I absolutely love the freedom that comes with Houdini, I always had the feeling for the modeling, material and lighting focused workflow I have, I was faster in C4D or Blender. But yeah. Maybe I pick up Houdini again in the future some time.

Hey hey and thanks a lot for your comment.
Yeah I know, the trend is really towards RS I feel.
I think this is also because it belongs to C4D now.
Thou I very much love Octane, I have to say in some aspects I can understand studios using Redshift. I thing it can be integrated better into pipelines. And octane can be rather confusing at times.
I think this makes the conversation much more interesting if people are not fanboying around and just say how things are 😇
