Most people's jobs don't require them to spend a lot of cash upfront and put in a ton of work without a guaranteed amount in compensation. You've got nerves of steel compared to most of the folks I know. I have so much respect for all your and Lizzie's hard work. The boys are growing so fast!
Cammy , you shouldn’t have to disclose any of your personal financial information with anyone in the world because it’s your business. Don’t ever feel bad and please Do Not Ever let anyone bully you or make you feel like you have to apologize for not talking about it . If you want to throw out rough numbers of what things run that would be enough if it pertains to what you’re trying to put out there info wise . It’s totally ok to keep a lot of things private ❤️. People will still flock to you and Love you just as much. Thanks for being you.
Absolutely your finances should be private and in no way tied to the way you create your content. That is most assuredly not why I watch you. We love seeing your family and learning about sheep some things are to always be private😊
It appears that if you land near the bottom of the list most of people are gone and your lambs will make less. Always great to see the family ! We love being a part of the family. It’s always nice to see the boys and watch them grow and change.
Not always ,sometimes a dealer just needs another pen of sheep to fill a lorry or a farmer who has made a long journey to market just decides to pay over budget rather than waste another day away from the farm having to travel to another sale ,this has certainly happened to me in the past but i have also experienced a poor trade at sale end
I enjoyed the auction and the explanations, and watching you and Lizzie decide together, but my favorite part was when you "took over the driving", the banter and getting the lambs out in the darkness! Long days and hard work all the time! But you stay upbeat and fun, wonderful to see.
So lovely to see you and Lizzy with sweet Angus at the sale. I really enjoy the auctions; just glad it's you and not me! Those big numbers make me queezy😅. One little comment from an old lady: I so respected your rule from the beginning about no swearing, and proud of you for speaking up about it even with other farmers. It seems to have fallen away lately. I'm probably not the only person who would appreciate your care with that again. Thanks for sharing your time and family with us. A new Sheep Game episode always makes my day. 💖
"It's all a risk." That's farming worldwide, Cammie. I remember one year we had the best-ever crop of wheat - and we got hail that absolutely flattened it to the point nothing could be saved the night before we were due to harvest it. Farming's a career where you must be willing to gamble against nature almost every single day.
sometimes part of the money making is to wait till the end of the auction when everyone else has purchased, you job is to get the best price so you day pay was to extra 10 pounds per head you got 1,480 pounds to sit till the end of the auction I think is worth it
🇨🇦 Stopping at 4:44 and wanting to say , I hope you buy the pen of the speckled faced lambs pen #349 just because they’re adorable 😊 Your new lambs looks great Cammie. Love the family day💕
Cammy, thank you for being so transparent. I have a handful of pedigree Shetland sheep that are basically pets, but I dream of someday making a go of it, and your videos have taught me a lot. I love seeing how you've got everything set up, and how you handle the sheep. The auction videos are great, and your videos of wool being graded and processed were amazing. Thanks again from rainy Seattle.
What I really appreciate is the career you left behind knowing the hard life of a farmer, and knowing the value of a man's mental health. You chose wisely in a farming career and a wife and you've been blessed by two healthy sons. You're very wealthy indeed. I'm so happy for you and Lizzy.
I hope you will keep us abreast of these lambs all the way to when you get them up big enough to sell them. Glad you and Lizzy are doing well growing your livestock and your beautiful boys. Thanks for taking us along.
As always enjoyed watching your spectacular beautiful shooting adventures countryside content video and respect those hard working individual people over there and may God bless them all .. great video Sir and your beautiful sharing adventure documentary updated resume countryside as always appreciated, keep it up Sir .. have a wonderful blessing weekend to you and your beautiful family over there .. take care and stay safe .. Hi Cammy. Hope you have success at the sale of your lambs at auction. There’s Angus , I think. He looks like Angus. And Lizzy is there with a nice family outing selling sheep.
Thanks for letting us watch the sheep jump off the back of the truck. It gave us a short look at what you bought. (Next time a little longer, please.) (Remember longer is better, we can always fast forward or 2x the speed.) 💖🌞🌵😷
I feel the same way about auctions myself. I can never decide, until it's too late. But usually it's above my price range anyway. I did like those Suffolks.

Well done Cammy and Lizzy, you held out well and got some at a price where you might have a chance, great store lambs, I'm not hopeful though of the price of finished lambs holding up this year, we'll see, hope for the best, those were expensive chicken n chips😗
Strong stores are always a numbers game there's so little to be made per lamb. Buying the smaller ones to sell on a rising trade later in the year gives you a better chance of a worthwhile return if you have the winter feed. Or a get out at a small profit if you're unable to get them all the way to fat.
Dairy farmers buying sheep to eat grass in the back end baffles me as an irish spring calving dairy farmer. Im trying to build covers to graze into the back end and get cows out to grass on feb 1st
Love the market videos I think if your down ringside u may fair better as other buyers who have a soft spot for the sheep game may not bid against u as much......then again they might bid on u more😂😂......I think the pen lizzy was bidding on were a more classier looking sheep not saying g urs were bad but hers although dearer might have sold better.......sorry for long comment loved ever minute of ur market video.....Best of luck with ur lambs.......
OMG , I was in sheep all my life and could never see the sense in store prices back then or now . Too much of a risk to see a healthy profit later and it was always the dairy boys pushing up the price as they still have the regular milk cheques coming in so the risk is less for them . Also most of them store lambs will melt as they have only recently been weaned , Your banking on the end of year trade too . Plus no doubt some will die as we all know its a sheeps ambition in life to die
@@TheSheepGame Thanks Cammy,it's a long time since i was in the sheep game so unsure on a lot of thing's,i ended up in the Trucking game aged 21 still doing it now.

Yeah for a store lamb sale it is. breeding sales would be busier. There are several 'dealers' in the crowd who will be buying over 1000 lambs and will have orders from farmers.

That second lot were some nice looking texels. I have a soft spot for texels as I had a sort of “pet” texel tup when I was growing up on my family’s farm in the Netherlands. Great work team, presumably you take all of your own lambs right through and you are just looking for additional lambs due to excess seasonal grass?
Yeah. We sold some store last year but we’ve planted 37 acres of forage rape this year we’re hoping we can finish lambs on!

Is there a method to the breed selection? Or just preference? I haven’t seen any Suffolk sheep I thought that was a very popular breed.
