this series is what inspired me to make my own bass!
after being annoyed at not being able to get a semi-decent one for cheap, i just decided to make my own, which i’m currently in the process of doing
while it’s not a 6 string behemoth, it’s still got all the features i want in a bass guitar
    thanks for the inspiration!

i just watched all of these non-stop. You did a fantastic job putting this together, the hiccups have really given me some lessons learned and you really convinced me on importance of hand-tooling a lot in this process. Wow! Just really grateful you did this. I intend on this being my profession later in life and will hopefully have this at the ready while I am trying to define a process. Thank you.

This series was inspiring to watch. I do not play a musical instrument and I currently have no intention of building one, but seeing you work on this and solve the problems you ran into was a helpful process. It is mostly woodworking and whatever you want to make a lot of the process is problem solving, so thanks for showing the mistakes and problems as well as the parts that went as expected. I will use what I gained from this series and your other videos to help improve my home.

I just binged the whole series in two days. I started getting mad about the 6th video in. I was down right looking for blood abound the 14th. I kept thinking to myself,"is he even worried about intonation?" However, two videos back when you started curving the neck and shaping the body, it came alive. I finally saw your dream. I don't mean this to sound negative because it isn't, but while it is obvious you know your way around a piece of wood, you made being a luthier look hard. These guys over at crimson guitars make it look like any one can whip out a master piece. You made it fun and awesome but I'd never try that in a million years.

Absolutely incredible. It was so awesome to be a part of the journey. This video is edited so well. I will watch it multiple times. But with the series overall, I loved seeing your obstacles and the thought process as you overcame them. It reminds of what my woodworking instructor told me: A great woodworker isn’t someone who doesn’t make mistakes. A great woodworker is someone who knows how to fix their mistakes. Keep up the great work.

Wow! That is the best custom build I’ve ever seen! The whole design, concept, and ambition. I wish I could do that. I have loads of Gibson’s in my touring rig, but I’m not happy. I bought two custom builds off Paul Stanley of Kiss. The “Cracked mirror” wild live guitars. Still not happy. The unique all round re-invention of the bass you have there leaves me in total admiration. Well done Matt! Absolutely gorgeous, beautiful, brilliant new musical instrument. It’s so much more than a bass! You could orchestrate a total concept soloist album with that. I bet it would be fun to clip on a Roland GK pick-up and have dual splits, maybe paired with a loop station? That’s never been done. Absolutely amazing refreshing change to see some originality at last! Well done. It takes a lot to impress me, and I’m very, very impressed!
