This is literally one of the best songs ever written ! and also so underated, this is a proof that some times the best music and songs aren't the ones everyone is listeing to...
This song is probably the most relaxing thing to me. I've listened to Daft Punk for a while with his other techno-like songs, but this is probably my most favorite. Especially the sounds, the slowing down, and the water noises. Knocks the stress right away :)..
0:00 - 3:10 Origin of Earth 3:11 - 3:33 Origin of life 3:34 - 4:11 Evolution 4:12 - 4:35 First terrestrial species and their evolution 4:36 - 5:20 Rise and peak of human civilization 5:21 End of life.
3:12 sounds very post apocalyptic but just a minute later at 4:12 it feels like something sprouts out like the first sign of life allowing the cycle to start again...how can something sound so electronic yet so organic at the same time!!!
This track is probably my favourite of the album. From an audiophile standpoint it is basically a buffet of the utter highest sound quality. Every aspect and track is crafted to perfection, from the beautiful electric piano melody to the basically track-long drum solo. Interestingly enough, it feels like an evolution of Daft Punk's Sea Of Simulation bonus track from TRON: Legacy!
This is just a new breed of music. I can't say it's simply good music, because it isn't. First of all, it's incredibly fucking rich with complexity and nuance. It manages to be so diverse yet it flows like water.
i remembered the ending of this song suddenly one night and kept repeating it in my mind, nearly brought to tears. when I finally tried to search for it and heard the first few opening notes it hit me like a truck. oh my god. probably one of my most favorite songs ever. deeply nostalgic since i grew up on this band. this song feels like it’s been within me my entire life even though this album came out in 2013, it feels like a reason to keep going (though luckily it’s not like I completely need those right now, I hope)
I used to listen to this song all the time while I was on my way to uni at that time. And it still feels so fresh and inspiring. I can't describe the feeling. Love you forever Daft Punk ♡
Although I'm an atheist and bothers me people publicly talk about their imaginary friends, I concur with the general sentiment of your statement. It's really distasteful to remove the valor of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, and give it to some non-existing being that only exists in the minds of those that believe it. Cheers!
José Encarnação Taste is subjective, but even then, being the common definition of God the all good all powerful and all knowing creator, it makes much more sense to take that "thanks god" as a compliment, it means somebody consider your work good enough to be something sent to them by God himself, and that's for sure not something bad, it's not taking alway no one's value. Also, you can never say, pretending to be free of personal belief that "God doesn't exists", the same way a believer can't say that it does exists and pretend that this is not his personal belief, that's because we are taking about something that is unfalsifiable, you cannot logically derive neither that it does or doesn't exists.
Daft Punk I would love to say thank you for the past 28 years of producing music and putting smiles into our faces. And all I’m asking for right now is... Thank you.
The fact that this album was given the award for best album re-instills my faith back in the music industry/fans. So much garbage out there these days. Thankfully the true artists can still be recognized.
Phoenix Scp Although people have different taste in music, I surely don't listen to Cardi B. There's a lot of good, new, modern rappers out there like Logic, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, X (rip)
This was always one of my favorite off the album and I still love it a decade later.. it's exquisite, sublime. I love how they take the concept of technology and give I emotion, like with "Motherboard" and many others
I was literally listening to them last night, and this last week. I honestly can't believe that this would happen, especially with all that they've done together. I always listen to this while drawing, it helps me focus, and is one (of many) of my comfort songs! Definitely recommend this song if you have just started listening to Daft Punk!
This song kinda.. makes me see in the future. Not just few years from now, but more like a millenia or two, when our current culture, our current standards of 'normal' will be long forgotten.
Don't worry; I was just wrong. The name "James" tied with that picture is just a coincidence because I know someone else who uses that combo. Apologies for the confusion.
Whos back here after the drumless track? Personally i like this better. The drums provide so much depth and joy. Drumless version has its own sci-fi soundtrack / magical vibe, but it still feels weird.
I'm so glad there is that much people out there loving it the way I do...this song is a whole thing, kind of a "techno-mystical" masterpiece to me. It's hard to explain why you like it so much. Most of the people can't love it, actually...poor people. The symbolism around it appears to me in a singular way. Despite there is no lyrics it says so much things, i would even say everything, in a matter of fact! The title of the album joins the title of the song in a esthetic and symbolical continuity. Computing motherboard seem to makes reference to the mother's content , mother beeing the etymological origin of the term "matrix" ("matricis-mater")... In french mother is "mère" wich is an homonym of "mer" that means "sea"...it strikes me everytime when I here that liquid sound in the end, like on a shore of that immensity sea sailing in our "random acces memories", on the great virtual bound that contains, and bound us all. And, like the daft punks, I'm french too, so please forgive my bad English my Daft Punk-loving friends!! Peace!!
Brother, you described it so well. This comment opens my eyes about the power of generally music and the complex meanings a language can have if we observe enough. Thank you so much for your comment.
Merci ! Tu as mis des mots sur l'incroyable qu'est ce titre. je ne vais jamais finir de l'explorer. C'est un abyme et aussi une projection vers les étoiles. Je n'ai pas les mots
Year 2014, it is late and you are tired from school or work, you go through a park and sit on a bench between two huge trees. You turn on your iPod touch, put on your headphones, and play this song. You feel the wind, your tension decreases and while the song is playing you realize that your life is not so bad, you just need a break.
Just to think, we'll never be able to hear anything like this again.....damn, this hurts. Thank you so much Daft Punk for the past 28 years. Hope you both enjoy your well deserved personal time.
Random access memories is one of the most greatest albums ive come accross, the whole album has brought me great peace and i an saddened that this was their last album but at the same time, what a golden album to leave off on. Thank you daft punk for this wonderful gift of music you have bestowed upon us, truly thank you, i know daft punk themselves wont ever see this comment but your music helped me through highschool. Your gift of music will forever be shared with me.
Everytime I listen to this, it transports me to another world. A futuristic utopia when the sun starts peeking through the horizon, coloring the sky a dark purple with a sprinkle of stars still visible. Traffic is still light early in the morning, with sleek modern-looking cars on the road as well as vehicles flying past skyscrapers and under the bridge. A spaceship zooms by high up the sky on its way to another planet. Thanks Daft Punk for such an amazing record as well as your other works of art
At 3:11 there is one of the most organic noises ever which had to be synthesized from something natural. Interesting coming from a song called mother board .
Wow i think this is the only song of Daft Punk that doesnt have a word, knowing that Daft Punk can say a lot with only one, its incredible how they proyect more feelings just on instrumental
you should listen the whole Discovery album, it has a lot of non-lyrics songs that are just incredible (Voyager, Veridis Quo, Aerodynamic and Superheroes)
3 ans que j'écoute cet album. Je ne m'en lasse pas. Je pense que c'est le meilleur album de tous les temps et je suis heureux d'être le contemporain de tels artistes.
This track won’t ever cease to be magical, it’s like taking a cosmic trip right inside your head and feeling so grand and beyond anything that you’ve experienced before, the feeling is superb. And the album as a whole is magnificent and grandiose and yet so humble and simple in a way. It’s just their raw talent that shines through it. I still can’t get over the fact that they stopped this part of their journey. What they did together was so golden, it felt like there was still so much to hear from them as daft punk and I was so eager to love it already. I’m so sad and nostalgic right now. They were/are the real deal. So proud to be french just because of them! I also was born right next to where they met in Paris so idk, I kinda feel close to them a bit more due to that.
Baw Jaws Not literal imagery. I mean that if you closed your eyes you could easily picture something from just the music. For me, I picture exploring and underwater world and this music allows me to imagine it so easily.
The beauty of this song cannot simply be said in a few words. The interweaving of the many instruments including a mesmerizing bass just makes this song a treat to listen to. The soft and yet attentive rhythms are soothing yet attention grabbing. The mix of “naturish” making the song feel like it’s straight from mother earth just mix so well with the song. The song, to me, is a perfect song, and I wouldn’t change it in any way.
Everyone feels in space while listening to this album but I feel like I'm on the beach, the beach of my childhood. This album came out when I was 10, every year my family and I went to the same place on holidays and this album was the album of the holidays. For us it meant summer. We used to have a picnic on the beach during the sunset when the beach was deserted, we brought a speaker and played this album. Now everytime I listen to it I feel the sand cooling on my feet, the salt on my lips, the wind on my face and the taste of melon. Moreover, this song is my mom's favorite, she told us she heard the waves in it. Now I'm 18, I won't to go to this place anymore, Daft Punk has split up and they were the band of my childhood (I watched Interstella 5555 a thousand times as a kid), but when I listen to this album, I'm there. I'm here, at home with the people I love, on La Côte Sauvage... And I hear the waves
Motherboard. The origin, the begging. How poetic of Daft Punk to have begun this track with classical instruments as a base and then slowly transition into more synthetic sounds as the music evolves.

Nothing can be more beautiful than this music 🪐
for me, this is the peak of ielectronic music
This is literally one of the best songs ever written ! and also so underated, this is a proof that some times the best music and songs aren't the ones everyone is listeing to...
This song is probably the most relaxing thing to me. I've listened to Daft Punk for a while with his other techno-like songs, but this is probably my most favorite. Especially the sounds, the slowing down, and the water noises. Knocks the stress right away :)..
Daft Punk is a duo madame ;)
aymane nouhail He is :)..
Unfortunate Fortune Cookie
i think you mean they are....
aymane nouhail They are a band? Or am I wrong? I'm a bit confused.
Unfortunate Fortune Cookie
yes :D a duo (two persons) :)
0:00 - 3:10 Origin of Earth
3:11 - 3:33 Origin of life
3:34 - 4:11 Evolution
4:12 - 4:35 First terrestrial species and their evolution
4:36 - 5:20 Rise and peak of human civilization
5:21 End of life.
Or, adding processing, adding GPU, adding ssd, adding power supply, adding thermal paste, adding cooling and finally adding Random Access Memories.
How did you know that? :0

@@user7421 I hope you put thermal paste before CPU or ot will be a mess
Dear Duft Punk,
I miss you but I know you are in the best place possible.
Always stay with love..
3:12 sounds very post apocalyptic but just a minute later at 4:12 it feels like something sprouts out like the first sign of life allowing the cycle to start again...how can something sound so electronic yet so organic at the same time!!!
Sounds like walking dead for a moment
on point
This sound is so BEAUTIFUL. I can't even think of any other word to describe this. You cry not because of sadness or happiness, but of something else.
This track is probably my favourite of the album. From an audiophile standpoint it is basically a buffet of the utter highest sound quality. Every aspect and track is crafted to perfection, from the beautiful electric piano melody to the basically track-long drum solo. Interestingly enough, it feels like an evolution of Daft Punk's Sea Of Simulation bonus track from TRON: Legacy!
i can never thank god enough for giving earth such beautiful and amazing artists im blessed i feel blessed

Thanks God, we have a Daft Punk... all isn't lost.
Cheers!
@@JoseEncarnacao i read your comment 3 times i see what you mean now
José Encarnação Taste is subjective, but even then, being the common definition of God the all good all powerful and all knowing creator, it makes much more sense to take that "thanks god" as a compliment, it means somebody consider your work good enough to be something sent to them by God himself, and that's for sure not something bad, it's not taking alway no one's value. Also, you can never say, pretending to be free of personal belief that "God doesn't exists", the same way a believer can't say that it does exists and pretend that this is not his personal belief, that's because we are taking about something that is unfalsifiable, you cannot logically derive neither that it does or doesn't exists.
No more.

I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
Daft Punk
I would love to say thank you for the past 28 years of producing music and putting smiles into our faces. And all I’m asking for right now is...
Thank you.
the way the guitar just sneaks in just melts your brain this is the best song lowkey
Let's be honest: headphones aren't recommended for this track, they're a prerequisite.
maybe a good speakers too
Yes!
i'll stick with speakers... much better.
eso!
My HD 800 SDR do pretty well for this track.
The fact that this album was given the award for best album re-instills my faith back in the music industry/fans. So much garbage out there these days. Thankfully the true artists can still be recognized.
I totally agree. Nice to see that others can see how incredible this album, or should i say, band is.
also 4 year late response xd
Found it on amazon prime music. I played it washing my car and was blown away. I bought the CD.
Manuel Bocconi let me guess, also Cardi B?
Phoenix Scp Although people have different taste in music, I surely don't listen to Cardi B. There's a lot of good, new, modern rappers out there like Logic, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, X (rip)
Clayton Erickson and it still holds up 5 years later.
This is my favorite song of the duet, a masterpiece that shows everyone that you don't need fancy singers or cool guitar solos to touch someones soul
This was always one of my favorite off the album and I still love it a decade later.. it's exquisite, sublime. I love how they take the concept of technology and give I emotion, like with "Motherboard" and many others
love this track, it tells a whole story without the need of any words.
I was literally listening to them last night, and this last week. I honestly can't believe that this would happen, especially with all that they've done together. I even remember when they released "Get Lucky" on my birthday on RUclips and me always jamming too it even last night. Truly iconic, and legendary. A duo that will always be remembered for its memorable iconic and legendary moments which in my opinion were one of the best duos ever. Thank you for everything, Daft Punk, you will truly be missed. I honestly didn't expect this to happen so early, but like they always say every great thing always has a start and then an end. Truly missed and one of the best artists in history. Glad to have been able to exprience them throughout all these years & to hear them. All the best to the future for the both of them. 😭🤧👏💫👑🔝🙏👑💙🐐🌍♾
Don't be sad because it ended, be happy because it happened.
@@abhitruechamp Yep😭🤧 and like I said every great thing always has a start and then an end. Honestly going to miss them so much. Glad to have been able to experience them throughout all these years & to hear them. So many feels, and nostalgia when hearing there songs especially there Get Lucky song which just gives me 2013 vibes, truly iconic and legendary they were. A duo that will always be remembered for its memorable iconic and legendary moments which in my opinion were the best duo ever in music history & still are. Thank you, Daft Punk for everything. 1993-2021. All the best. 😭🤧👊🎶🎵💙👑🐐🌍♾
somehow start at 4:12 hit me right in the feelings
Brotard gets me every time too
Same man!
A feeling like an accomplishment of something essential

It’s nostalgia my man. The never ending melody.
This song has a story behind it. Easily. Amazing.
Whenever I get off work, I always play this in the car ride home.
cyronader do you still
Playing this song must make you realize what life is. That must be a great feeling to have just right after work and right before entering Home sweet Home
I always listen to this while drawing, it helps me focus, and is one (of many) of my comfort songs! Definitely recommend this song if you have just started listening to Daft Punk!
everything about this is perfect
just like the water at the end.
Audio-climaxed at 1:40, this track is forward with a decade or more. It's ahead of its time.
This song kinda.. makes me see in the future. Not just few years from now, but more like a millenia or two, when our current culture, our current standards of 'normal' will be long forgotten.
To those who say that this album has nothing to do with Daft Punk, and yet it is...
We need more of this kind of music please !
It's like meditating and finding a small bit of enlightenment in musical form.
One of my favourite tracks on the album! I love how it sounds surreal.
Completely with you on that. Unrelated: I didn't know ValveTime was popular enough for people to make tribute/troll accounts based on our staff.
Don't worry; I was just wrong. The name "James" tied with that picture is just a coincidence because I know someone else who uses that combo. Apologies for the confusion.
4.10 -> ending...wtf is that??? I can't believe they created that. it's such a deep complex of feelings they are creating with that part...
Florentin Craineanu its mesmerizing. Daft Punk are truly musical geniuses

3:31 Wow, that bass is nasty. It sounds like it's crushing your soul. Such high quality sound!
Year 2014, it is late and you are tired from school or work, you go through a park and sit on a bench between two huge trees. You turn on your iPod touch, put on your headphones, and play this song. You feel the wind, your tension decreases and while the song is playing you realize that your life is not so bad, you just need a break.
Probably the most underrated Daft Punk song!
Great scenic imagination
I always dream a futuristic utopia as well
This song is beautiful... this album is next level. Perfect acid trip.
1000%
first time on shrooms I listened to this album like 4 times... changed my life level of good.
At 3:11 there is one of the most organic noises ever which had to be synthesized from something natural. Interesting coming from a song called mother board .
an absolute masterpiece. classical yet modern, and their is so much emotion in the whole song. favorite part is the flute.
It wants you to realise that there is another dimension out there that is our destiny and home
Wow i think this is the only song of Daft Punk that doesnt have a word, knowing that Daft Punk can say a lot with only one, its incredible how they proyect more feelings just on instrumental
there are tons of daft punk tracks without words.
you should listen the whole Discovery album, it has a lot of non-lyrics songs that are just incredible (Voyager, Veridis Quo, Aerodynamic and Superheroes)
This gorgeous song carries me on so many journeys within my mind... AI LOVE THIS SONG!!! WOOH!!!
Daft Darlin' A.I. love this song? I had no idea that this is what HAL, Glados, and Skynet listened to (I know, intentional typo, sorry).
Yes, an intentional typo.
Guillermo Sulvale Hi!
Daft Darlin' Hello!
Guillermo Sulvale I like saying hi. Hi!
If you've never done it before: listen to the song as one big drum solo. It's like listening to it twice.
you can listen to each instrument indivisually and its different every time
In my opinion it is not only the best track of Random Access Memories but also of the entire musical career of Daft Punk ❤
God, my second favorite song in the album. It's so perfect and unique and there's so much imagery in this song it's utterly amazing
Imagery ? What?
Baw Jaws Not literal imagery. I mean that if you closed your eyes you could easily picture something from just the music. For me, I picture exploring and underwater world and this music allows me to imagine it so easily.
Yeah I understand. That's cool a song can do that for you.
Not reall imagery tho, more your vivad imagination.lol
***** I agree.
The more I listen this song, closer am I from thinking this is the best Daft Punk piece of work released in their last album
Might just be their best work
Thanks Daft Punk for this! Your legacy will be forever!
I love how cirurgically the bass is used in the first half. Not one note out of place, quiet precisely when it needs to be. So fucking tasteful.
IMO the best song from Daft Punk
There is no way these people are even people. Humans are not capable of achieving such perfection
They are Human After All
Motherboard. The origin, the begging. How poetic of Daft Punk to have begun this track with classical instruments as a base and then slowly transition into more synthetic sounds as the music evolves.
It’s like being in a jungle of computer wires and symphonic instruments
This must be real art. I dont know what i would do without daft punk, they helped me on so many ways i wish i could thank them.
