Hi guys! I hope this gives you a good peek into what orientation week is like at an Aussie uni, at least University of the Sunshine Coast. I had over THREE HOURS of footage from this week so I'm really happy I was able to get it down to
Just a small tip: make sure youre wearing a hat at all times when youre out in the sun up there (plus stay hydrated). Heat exhaustion is pretty easy to get if your head isnt covered. It starts with the worst headache you've ever had and goes downhill from there. Ive had mild heat exhaustion twice and Ive seen (and helped treat) hundreds of cases. Most non-Australians arent aware of the danger. Its something you really want to avoid. Nice video by the way. ps it doesnt necessarily have to be sunny for you to get heat exhaustion. Warm and humid is all thats required. But the sun on your head will supercharge the risk.
@kat_ilming Good morning 🌞 Definitely anything Mint chocolate, there's a Kit Kat Tasmanian Mint flavour you should try it Kat, it sounds like you have appropriately adopted meat pies lass what's your fav? I hope you're loving the country and have settled in nicely. Have a majestic week Kat. 🌞🏄🇭🇲
Hangover hint - XXXX Gold (Chemically brewed) is one of the worst beers for hangovers. Coopers Mild (Naturally brewed) is much kinder to the body & about the same strength. Welcome to Australia & the beautiful Sunny Coast.
If You're going to be hinting Grog (Alcohol) daily, I can recommend 'berocca' vitamin tablets... As weal as Vegemite on toast & tea... If You're really Desperate, Bacon & Egg roll & Coca-Cola... Steak & Eggs another GOOD Post Grog Hit...
A small comment on the kangaroo’s walking method….. their rear legs cannot move independently, so they have to lift both of them off the ground with their front legs and the tail in order to move them forward, but don’t ever try to keep up with them when they are running full speed!🤪🦘
Oh that's why they walk like that! I had no idea, super interesting though 😃 Haha I'll remember that, I don't think I'd stand a chance, even one hop takes them so far 🤯
I grew up on the sunny coast (before USC was even a thing) and did a year there in 2001 before transferring down to QUT in Brisbane. Got a tick during one of my biology labs because we went into the long grass just behind the labs looking for insects. Looks like a lot has changed in the last 20+ years, this video makes me want to go back and check it out.
Oh that's so cool! Ha I never even thought to add ticks to my "be wary of this" list. It's probably changed loads, I would imagine it'll also change a lot more in the lead up to the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane.
"And then it fell into my hair. And then it fell onto my dress. And then I saw it was a massive Cockroach-Oh look a bird" You're my favourite content creator
Haha I do see that 😄 although uni campus is definitely a special case, I haven't seen any near the coast and where people live etc, but you never know 😂

Ooh, these are all excellent suggestions, thank you! My friend gave me a Berocca with caffeine and I was buzzing the rest of the day 😂

Kmart is going to be your best friend if you need to get stuff on a budget. There should be a bus that takes you directly to sunshine plaza
Hahaha thanks for the tip! I know this bus route well now, the plaza is great 🤩

If you can get one of our giant roaches in your hair and not immediately head for the nearest airport, you’re going to fit in here just fine ❤

You are very attractive with a beautiful voice.
Don't drink XXXX - it is possibly the worst beer we have. The only call it XXXX cause they are not allowed to write SH1T on the label.
😆 definitely good to know to stay well away
I like xxxx
Are these imaginary friends? There never seems to be anyone with you.
You realise that your videos do nothing to dispel the stories of Kangaroos in Australia everywhere, hopping down the streets? lol
