and me. We've got used to them, Princess delighting in driving everyone crazy and Prince just being a young guy around town, handsome and happy. Even though I remembered how they were found - I had forgotten how it felt. Just heart wrenching.

I remember this disgusting brutality with the collar. Just vile. I would love to put tight choke chains around those who do this. Only when they are in pain will they understand the torture & pain from embedded collars, chains, + ropes. Absolutely brutal seeing that horrible wound. But l definitely remember Prince & Princess and expected, or hoped, homes would come soon. Dear Takis, The other day I watched a dog rescue video from Eastern Europe, and noted that the rescuer lined the bottom of the cage with a blanket. I thought that, that was quite a good idea and made the cage less intimidating for the dog. MAYBE, just maybe you would also like to experiment with that idea? 🤔

This is an old rescue from June 2021. The nasty wound was healed completely long time ago. Now Prince and Princess are still waiting for their forever home. Hope they will find it soon niw!❤🐕🐕❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘🙋♀️

I don’t know where you live in the USA but the CA Central Valley is replete with animals in very small spaces who are subject to euthanization. The Kern County site is really sad. Please adopt them. The Takis shelter is very tempting because the history of the dogs is known. Very sweet dogs and cats.
This breaks my heart. I cannot stand the thoughtlessness that results in a dog having what amounts to a torture device embedded in their neck! We rescued a dog once from being tied by his collar to a tree, and the vet said on xray that the poor puppy's windpipe had been deformed by trying to grow around the tight collar. That happened in liberal, dog-loving Portland Oregon. Cruelty and neglect are flipsides of the same coin. If you see something that seems wrong, investigate the situation.

Prince has grown to be the most beautiful and fun loving guy in the shelter. Princess has been given the freedom from worrying about Prince that she so deserved. Now they are both having fun together. They are the sweetest and their bond is pure love and loyalty.

The collar wasn't removed so the skin grew over it. Princess and Prince will slowly heal.

This was in Juli 2021 and the unthinkable has happend: both gorgeous dogs are still not adopted! Prince is a very nice and beautiful and loyal dog. Princess is very friendly and playful. And yes, they are happy in the shelter but they would be even more happy when they get adopted.
I wish they could be adopted together. They deserve a home after living in those awful conditions. Thank you for rescuing them and saving their lives.

The virtues and the maturity of a society you can tell by how they treat animals. As a greek living abroad and having travelled a lot I know that some societies have very little empathy for animals. It's heartbreaking to see these pour souls strolling the streets, dirty, abandoned and very often tortured. Southetn Europe is realy bad in protecting animals.
