So glad you finally made it to Rue Cler. It’s where I stayed on my first trip to Paris in 1983. And I still stay there whenever I’m back in Paris. It’s a great street for foodies

I was in Paris whenFrance won the World Cup and. omggggg the city and the subways were beyond packed to capacity . I remember trying to navigate through champs Élysée that evening and it was soooo packed . Looking back now I don’t think I could even be amongst all those people now with Covid but that was definitely a great experience. Great video per usual Tiffanie and welcome back
Thanks for the tour of the 7th arrondissement. All those fresh fruit/veggies & flower markets were amazing. Also, the rotisserie chicken has made hungry for some!! The last stop at the art store was incredible, could go crazy buying the art.

The store had jiffy and quick grits,LOL. I'm from the North 7 generations, and grew up on Flako Corn muffin mix (the best). Jiffy is now the only choice for cornbread unless you make it from scratch.
The art shop had some of the most exquisite frames I've ever seen.
I will put the street address and names on my list to share with friends who spend several weeks in Paris every year.

Love this neighbourhood, I’m in the 15th. There’s a really nice cafe, Bleu Olive, near the juice bar.

Tiffany Wow! I feel you and love you for sharing. I am older than you but watch you because you are living my dream which is soon to be a reality.
That's exactly how I felt when descended upon the Iffel Towe after an hour of walking from Montmatre when I was there in February. I felt the same walking along the many Rue streets, became super emotional, it felt so surreal that was in Paris. Love at first site for sure! Paris swept me off my feet, stole my heart. I feel strongly that is where o belong. Never shed a tear on any of my travels to other 10 Europe Countries I've been to.

Oh thanks so much for taking us through the 7th. On our very first trip to Paris, we stayed right on the edge, just 2 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. Now whenever we come to Paris we go back to the 7th even when we are staying at a different arrondissement. You are looking so good.
I was on an Air France flight when France was playing in the last World Cup soccer finals. I was rejoicing so much when France won. A french man sitting next to me was having a conversation with me and I joking said, finally an African team has won a World Cup. He was like what? Then I said think about the makeup of the team. The guy just laughed so hard. He got the joke.
We were recently in Paris, and went to the Rue de Cler. We ate at a cozy little restaurant there.

Thanks for sharing as I am moving from Luxembourg to Paris in a few weeks. I'm originally from NYC though and lived in several places in Europe but my first time living in Paris and will be in 16 Arrondissement
I have stayed on Rue Cler 4 times busy but not overly noisy, restaurants, markets, not night clubs. You feel safe there.

Je suis français d'origine étrangère à la retraite et je peux vous dire que les 2 systèmes sont complètement différents. En France , le gouvernement garantit les soins (sécurité sociale ) et éducation scolaire ( école et université ) à tous résidents français ou étrangers ou étudiants même étrangers (Tiffany vous le confirmera ) . La sécurité sociale vous rembourse environ 78% des soins et une autre assurance complémentaire obligatoire vous rembourse environ 20%. Pour ma part, je payait 15 euros( 17$) pour une famille de 4 personnes.
Mon employeur est obligé de payer pour moi 15 euros, la loi l'oblige.Si vous avez une maladie grave ( c'est mon cas ) l'assurance maladie vous prend en charge à 100% pour cette maladie (exemple diabète ). Le système américain est individualisé et vous cotisez pour vous même. En France, le système est " PAR REPARTITION" c'est-à-dire solidaire.
Pour la retraite par exemple quand vous travaillez, vous payez la retraite des personnes âgées. A votre tour quand vous serez à la retraite, les personnes qui travaillent payeront votre retraite. C'est la solidarité entre générations. C'est De Gaulle qui avait mis ça en place dans les années 50. Le montant de la retraite correspond à peu près à 75% de votre dernier salaire. En ce moment, avec le COVID , le système de retraite est déficitaire et le gouvernement veut adopter le système néerlandais , le meilleur en Europe et mieux adapté aux fluctuations de l'économie. Mais le système américain en France, est decrié et considéré comme le plus injuste. Mais je ne sais pas si c'est vrai car je ne le connais pas dans les moindres détails.
J'espère que mes explications ne sont pas trop confuses et que la traduction sera bien faite.Il existe des vidéos d'expatriés américains en France qui l'expliquent bien.

Great vlog!! That’s totally the coolest grocery store with all American products. Never would’ve ever thought there would be something like that in Paris. Question though…is the Champ de mars usually fenced off where the lawn is? I’m going next month and totally wanna do a picnic there.
It is fenced off when the grass needs to rest, usually in winter, and the rest of the time just in sections. In May you should find the grass open.
However, you may prefer to picnic somewhere like the Tuileries or the jardin de Luxembourg or the Buttes de Chaumont.

I booked my ticket for august!! I’m staying in menilmontant rather than my beloved republiqie because it’s half the price and I just found out why. Two night clubs near by !! I’m too old for that !lol
There is also an independent gelato shop (Martine Lambert) at 39 Rue Cler. The boulangerie on Rue Cler is a disappointment, one of the only poor boulangeries in the area. Liberté on Rue Saint-Dominique (which you would have passed just after the Au Canon des Invalides brasserie) is one of the best.
What time do the ships on Rue Cler usually close on a Saturday?
