Just downloaded it yesterday, as a dyslexic I am truly loving it. Cant believe Microsoft Word didn't pick up some of these errors I am seeing. Great video!
If you use Word, try the built-in proofreading before buying an additional program. Drill down into the options to find the proofreading features. Readability may not be checked by default. You do have to start it by hand in the review menu. It's quite comprehensive and has been there at least since Office 2010. I just wrote a marketing email where I got 73% readability and grade 6.3.
I’m wondering if you would consider doing an updated review. I just installed PWA, and my sense is it has come a long way since you made this vid. I’d be curious what the landscape looks like now in your view. Thanks, your vids have been very helpful to me as a first time non-fiction author!
I think you are right when you say that milage may vary. For me I'm not an author but doing a second degree. It's been over ten years since I last studied and I'd say that my ability to write essays are a bit stale! So at a guess, my writing ability is probably far from that of seasoned authors and academics. I will never rely on a grammar checker, but for someone like me who hasn't written formally for years I could imagine my stats being very different. I think I will end up with far more errors!
As always, very informative. I always check the Michael La Ronn Bible, I mean vids, when I need solid details. They should package your videos with their products. Two thumbs up!
Hi Polly, thank you. :) at this time, no. While PWA does offer Scrivener integration it’s not sanctioned by Scrivener. You’re best to use them separately in my opinion.
Another really useful and entertaining video. Keep these coming! One question: I'm a Ulysses user and have been underwhelmed with the grammar and spell-checker options available to the app. Any suggestions? Grammarly only works if I open a Ulysses document on my iPad and use the Grammarly keyboard; i.e., no direct way to use it on a Mac. Pro Writing Aid doesn’t work in Ulysses, either. Short of exporting into Word, running Pro Writing Aid, and then re-importing… well, what’s the preferred solution? Would love to know your thoughts. Cheers as always!
Great question, Mark, and I wish I had a solution for you. Hopefully ProWritingAid hears us and considers Ulysses on its list of integrations! Lot of copying pasting that has to be done currently. Thanks for watching.
What app do you recommend? I’m half way through my book but need a better app. Do you recommend a editor in NJ? I had a friend recommend one in Europe but I feel I should have one in the states. What is your opinion? I appreciate and feedback. Thank you, Christine
I recently bought 2 years of subscription to Pro Writing Aid. I like it. Mainly for the Americanized word thing (I'm Australia and had no idea there was so many spelling differences between UK and US English), as well as the "smart" quates thing, where sometimes "" are the wrong format. Stuff like that. There is a lot of detailed stuff in their reports, but yea, most does not seem useful to a fiction writer.
Which is really a shame because there is a lot of opportunity here to help bridge some gaps. But we’re still very early in the proofreading app game, and 10-15 years from now, we’re going to be having a very different conversation about what these apps can do for writers. Machine learning and AI are going to make these apps eventually reach the level of a basic proofreader (human), maybe better. I hope that ProWritingAid is a part of that conversation. That’s why I support them now.
@@AuthorLevelUp please answer as soon as possible I need pro writing aid for transcribing and in transcribing you're grammar and punctuation have to be perfect, so which form of pro writing Aid will help me, premium or free version? Kindly answer as soon as possible.

I have both PWA and Wordrake and find they are both useful. Would like to see this sort of review for Wordrake. Thanks for the video!

I like your brief and clear review. Thank you.
Hi Michael. Love your videos. You helped me get started in Scrivener. Is there a way to interface ProWriting Aid with Scrivener?

Wow! One of the best reviews I’ve seen on RUclips. Very thorough!
hi Michael. your review, as usual was great! May I ask you if you think that ProWritingAid could help me improve my writing for the Cambridge English Advanced exam?.
I use PWA and love it. Does it have quick keys i can click when I approve a change rather than screwing around with the mouse?
Well done video, thanks. Off to look your books up on Amazon.
Thanks so much!
Always solid, well thought out reviews.
THANK YOU MICHAEL.
Thanks for a great review and I will be watching your other reviews. +1 subscriber.
Thanks. Very well presented.

Stay tuned tomorrow at noon Central standard time, my friend. ;)
Excellent!
Does it have ms word tool bar install so you don't have to upload the entire manuscript online?
Yes, check this out: prowritingaid.com/en/App/Office
