You mentioned Primarchs now imagine a regicide mode where to win the game the teams have to protect their respective Primarchs and kill off the enemies one to win the round/game easy,simple,fun.
The fact that GW have never been able to make a successful 40k multiplayer shooter is absolutely beyond me. All the elements are there and somehow they just havent pulled it off.
Because GW doesn't make the videogames ya dink, lol.
Also Space Marine was a successful multiplayer shooter.

@@LordVader1094What he probably meant to say is that it's amazing gw haven't sold the rights to a developer who can actually pull it off instead of whoring themselves out to anyone who will give them money to make a really shit game with their IP. Eternal crusade was fun... for a product that was over-hyped as something much more than it actually turned out to be, was never finished and then died as a result. They need to do their homework outside of just looking at their bottom line. They take the same approach to their animations. The saying "it takes money to make money" just isn't in their vocabulary. Which is a shame for all of us.
You know in the 10th edition trailer when the homing beacon starts blinking? Yeah, I think GW's lawyers are deep striking in soon. Alas, I would love to play this. EC was my jam for the longest time

it's a damn shame that Eternal Crusade died the way it did.
i feel that 40k really needs a game alone the lines of Destiny as in a massive MMO PVE/PVP game with raids and co-op missions alongside a solo/co-op campaign.
just imagine a game where you play as a space marine but with the level of customisation and Utility as destiny's guardians.
considering how much money bungie has made from the lightfall expansion and destiny as a whole i'm shocked that moneygrubby GW hasn't tried to go down this path and had a major triple A studio try to do a live service 40K game.
if Space Marine 2 does well i feel that maybe the beginning, alongside bringing back space marine 1 for next gen.
I honestly say the exact same thing, a destiny type game where you get to choose which legion/primarch you serve from the great crusade, finding of the primarchs, all through the heresy. Plus, just like destiny the lore could slowly be pushed out like expansion passes and i’m sure many people would purchase. I could also see them not wanting to take away from miniature sales as well tho
Darktide could have blown up like a mini-destiny imo, it had the potential. I do hope Darktide gets a soft relaunch as it's painful to see such god-like core gameplay wasted on a sub par meta game and lack of content.

This is so awesome! Watching your old EC videos was what got me following your channel, which in turn was a huge part of me getting into the hobby - going from just being a video-games/books/lore fan to collecting, painting, and playing 40k on tabletop! So EC has always had a special place in my heart and it's awesome to see it coming back!
How quickly will GW screw this up?

I'd love it if sm2 nailed a multiplayer mode and it became the 'new Halo' of big sci-fi shooters kinda thing since the next main line Halo game is probably 5+ years out.
Would love to see more types of classes like terminators or even having dreadnought become a thing. Also further customization of your character.

i missed this game so much. It was very flawed.
But man, it was so much fun when the squads worked as a team (and actually listened to commands for once 😂).
Super happy for this. Cant wait to QTE execute Valrak and teabag his lifeless corpse again 😘

I miss this game sooooooo much! Met some really awesome people playing it too.
Back when it was still around, I used to hate Eternal Crusade for all of the unkept promises on the part of the devs, but in the years since I've come to miss it, even if it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Glad to see it's coming back, even if in a less than official capacity, though that may not be a bad thing, since it means they're unlikely to nickel and dime for cosmetics and relic weapons.
I am sure the famously unlitigious Games Workshop will not notice one of the biggest fan channels posting about the unlicensed use of their IP. Unless the modders can finish this quickly, I do not believe this fan project will survive the legal sharks.
I just want a Horus Heresy game.

The private warhammer fantasy MMO server has been around for a while and is pretty popular. I don't think they mind as long as people dont take the piss and keep it private and on the down low. It's probably beneficial in the long run for various reasons, for example if the warhammer fantasy MMO got a sequel all of the people playing on the current private server would likely pay for it.

basic melee seems to have been sped up, and bolters are now a single fire weapon, interested to see the changes these guys pull.
Maybe the comms system could be squad based, with 1k per team planetside battles!
Squad members < Squad sergeants < Company captains < Chaptor Master.
Special units, like dreadnaughts, librarians and techmarines could pair up with squads or something.
I remember watching the developer videos when this first started. I followed it and was all about it,… then it all fell apart and it was devastating to me. I’ll wait to see this done before I get into it.

@@mrshankly213 Eternal Crusade was an official product with a paid license, this is a copy of the original EC and the modders behind it didn't pay the license. If GW wants they can just send a cease and desist and the project will be cancelled
There's a fan-run private server to resurrect the old Warhammer Online and they've never had issues as far as I know. Usually, rights holders allow this stuff to exist as long as the people maintaining it don't try to make money off of it
i give it a few months, these kind of projects always fall into drama and dissolve in on themselves, either really fast or the old death by a thousand cuts
This game completely passed me by. I never played it, never knew anything about its demise. But I'm sure I would've enjoyed it and been one of the people who lamented its loss. Why would they just take away a game like this? I tell you what. Once the Iron Warriors become available, I will join in on a frenemy grudge match against you, Valrak. I was also a Blood Angel in my youth, maybe I can transform back into one. Sounds fantastic!

I found your channel through this game + believe i played vs you a few times on random games lol mained a ork called EavyDakka, this game trully was a blast, this has a lot of potential too, imagine they add the terminators they promised near the end of this games life, could be huge i hope they have a lot of success

Yeah 180000 sound files are a nightmare, i spent a while contributing trying to organise all those loose files into folders but i got overwhelmed by it so sadly while I stepped down helping in that aspect, they created a way for anyone to help with finding sounds and it's so much easier.
I had the joy of testing this map for arkain before it was snow - but I'm not sure if it's the same map after the change to snow or not but I was happy to have helped somewhere down the line. I didnt play eternal crusade as much as i wanted, but i hope that can change!

I once logged into a match on the wrong side of the Valrak clan led by the Chapter Master himself. It was my second best moment playing 500+ hours of EC!
My best moment was managing to execute Valrak. We couldn't stand against the fists, but a moral victory is a moral victory! XD

Never played the game, but I’ve seen enough gameplay footage to know I want in on this! Can’t wait to play Alpha Legion when they eventually come out
and then with what u said about playable primarchs they could work just like how the jedi and sith worked in the battle front games. you kill enough enemy players and then get a chance to play as the primarch of the chapter ur playing as and just wreck absolute havoc for a couple minutes or until ur finally killed, super fast, super strong, super durable, super reflexive, advanced healing factor, lore accurate primarch abilities, lore accurate weapons and armour, lore accurate heights, etc.... that would be a dream come true
Eternal crusade was one of my top favorite 40k games of all time. Thank the devs that I can play this game. The god emperor will be glad.❤😢
It still needs a lot of work, including the sounds and other things but it's looking really promising. As bad as Eternal Crusade was, i was really glad we had a Warhammer game that finally let you battle with others in that way. I think it's the quintessential 40k experience in a third-person shooter. I hope this goes well and GW doesn't nuke it straight to hell like they usually do.
As a newer servant of the glorious god emperor, I never played the OG Eternal Crusade, thou I would be down to try out this one when it launches
He's making use of more particle effects too. I don't remember the blur effect upon firing the bolter back in the day (although I think EC shipped on Unreal 3? 4?) Unreal 5's Lighting makes it look so much better too

Sadly I never got to play Eternal Crusade. I managed to catch some livestreams of it. I’ll hopefully be able to play now that it is returning
I played Eternal Crusade beside a lot of you I'm sure. It has so much promise. I have always thought it was plagued by Unreal Engine 4, and I heard this has been ported to Unreal Engine 5 which excites me immensely because I think THAT would or will allow those promises to be fulfilled
Would be amazing to add other Factions too. Would be interesting what they do with this!
they should give each playable race a lore accurate jump as well, like SM should be able to easily jump 10-15 high and easily cover a 30-40 ft gap if they jump while sprinting and then eldar should be able to do easily almost double those numbers and so on n so forth. idk why but i like a good jump in video games.
I hope they get around to adding all of the emperors legions

Hope it can reach a good state or maybe come to full fruition and does not go the way of Chapter Master
They need to take this entire model and create a replica of warframe. The Eldar can be the tenno and the space marines can basically stay the same. A mmo warframe like warhammer paraphernalia in place would be crazy!!! And all you have to do is turn all the frames into different variant’s of suits. For all factions.

This could work out the same as Warhammer Online: Return of Reckoning if the Dev Team sticks to what was in the game including things that was in alpha/beta should be alright and don't add anything new, then GW should be okay with it. I hope that this pulls through okay
