I look forward to every Sunday with your new video for the week, your a damn good coming sense old school mechanic you've showed me a lot of things about working on small engines n mowers..love it...and your side kicks adds a lot to your videos they are hilarious Teryll don't stop what your doing, it's wonderful!!!!😃🇺🇸👍
Great video and how-to. I like how you show needing to adjust the set-up, even after the initial fix was performed. Excellent close-ups, and explanations! All-in-all, another awesome video Taryl (and company)!!!!
This is the best show on RUclips between the comedy skitches the story lines the funny faces taryl makes and of course the helpful information you deserve so many more subscribers
Thanks for this video! I bought one of these old Jiffy's at a garage sale last summer- I rebuilt the carb but put everything together back asswards! Now it's running like brand new!
This video just saved me big time. I use 40:1 trufuel in mine with the autolite 255 sparkplug which according to jiffy is what they swapped to for these older augers. It runs mint now. Thank you for all the helpful videos.
I just bought a 2000 jiffy auger. All that this video showed that was wrong with the carb was what was wrong with my carb. The previous owner had the gasket wrong, the needle seat wrong and no o-ring for the idle adjustment screw. A million thanks for sharing your knowledge Taryl!
Nice Tele against Slippers' wall. I got a small engine textbook that warns about customers. "Did you put fresh gas in?" "Oh, yeah! I poured it in this morning!" "Did you buy the gas this morning?" "Well, no, it was gas that was in my gas can, I got the gas last Summer . . . but it's fresh! Just poured it in the tank this morning!"
Just picked me up an old Eskimo ice auger ...I belive it's a late 70' s early 80's. Thank for the vid cause my carbertrater was leaking. Runs like a top now.
Is it only supposed to have one carb adjustment screw? The one I'm working on only has one screw too thought maybe I was missing one but now I see urs only has one .
We get a pile of these things in this time of year. I just had one with the same carb (F3) and put the diaphragm on first... damn thing ran rich as hell and couldn't get it leaned out. Reversed the diaphragm and gasket like a typical carb and it was fine. It also had high and low carb screws... noticed yours only had one. I also just oil the seat and stick it in the hole, use the new needle to seat it.
Hey taryl, love the videos. Question about the jiffy? Change diaphragm, needle, seat, spring. Auger fires everytime won't stay running? Tried the 2 screws, still the same. I have trufuel in it.the fuel is suppose to last 2years. It's 50:1 mix. I drained the fuel out last year for storage over the summer. Thanks brian
Thanks for pointing out the "f" stamped on the carb. I rebuilt mine and could not get it to stay running! Pulled the 4 screws out, flipped the diaphragm and winna winna chicken dinna
I had an "F" on my carbitrator and I threw it away because I thought it had failed. I ordered one with an "A" from Amazon. It's taking a long time to get here, but I can understand that because the Amazon is a long way away.
Well I wish I had seen this video almost 20 years ago, I junked a snowblower because it had one of those carburetors on it and it kept pouring gas out. I even ordered a new carbitrator and the new one did the same thing! I guess that needle valve was stuck!
Great video. Wish there were more videos on these old Jiffy’s out there. I want to completely rebuild the engine on mine and there’s no info out there on it.
Ok I cleaned the carb on my old model 30 it has a metal bowl not plastic anyways once primed it starts but once it uses the gas in the bowl it stalls the only way it will keep running is if I keep priming it
I'm not sure if you've ever done an episode, where you introduce, Jr's mother, I'm thinking it's the bear that's been in quite a few other episodes, since he's so hairy.... LMAO
YOU MAY NEED TO TRY THE DIAPHRAM BOTH WAYS!... FYI... Well i got a carb kit for mine which had an F3 on it. I put it on and was running WAY too rich with gas sputtering out of the carb, cleaned it twice and still same thing, then i switched the diaphragm on top of the gasket. (between the metal cover and gasket) and it ran perfectly...weird, anyway great video.
Great video. Laugh my ass off!! What do u think about using trufuel in the jiffy? Mine was giving me issues and I tried it and it worked. But it won't stay running unless I keep priming it ?? Any idea? Thanks brian
I've had premix in containers do the same thing. All of the gasoline evaporates over a year or so and leaves the 2cycle oil behind as if there was never any gas in the container. Obviously there was a very small air leak in the container.
When in doubt, dump it out. Are you going to try to save a few pennies or maybe even a whole dollar by salvaging old gas when old gas could be the main problem or at least a contributing factor?
I know how you feel, I can't figure out that bell in my house either, but bet your ass every time I hear it a minute later someone is knocking on the door 😃😃
Yeah ! Don't trust a Stevenson to mix 2 stroke fuel !!!! When I was fixing his 2 stroke Ryobi line trimmer in 2002 he was forever blaming us for not fixing it right & he had been around to just about every shop in the town where they were telling him the same thing - he added too much oil to the fuel & it wouldn't start !!!! Today, I'm going to find out why on the job front, people have just been thinking I've been like him !!! I mean, why is it that I've been out of work & I'm the one who always seems to be wrong about everything ????
I appreciate your troubleshooting, and not editing out your process of elimination. Good one, keep em coming

Good video guys. Those little motors are picky. Nice trouble shooting.
you make me laugh. thank you
Would it be possible to see the linkage on the Jiffy auger you worked on. Think the one I picked up is all wrong.
Cheers
good one taryl ... thank you guys for the stuff i bought and fast ship .. oh and the calendar and such with it also ... †
calendar? do you mean we need to know what day it is too?
I guess it’s better to have Slippers over than Ronnie. 😂
Awwwwww...poor Slippers!!!
great info...have the same ice auger.slippers needs himself a camper 😂
Glen Rines . I've got one too. No ice here but used it for post hole boring.
Is it only supposed to have one carb adjustment screw? The one I'm working on only has one screw too thought maybe I was missing one but now I see urs only has one .
"Prancin' with the Has-Beens." Hilarious and more accurate show title. Judges? : 10-10-10 PERFECT SCORE -- 30. Taryl wins again.
Great video. Now you gots to take it down yonder to Willow Slough and try it under load. Getcha some nice 'gills whilst there!

I'm working on one right now and mine only has one adjustment screw too wondering if that's how it's supposed to be or if I'm missing one
I just had identical machine in! Mine had metal jet screws. Bullet proof machines!
Do they make a replacement carb like that? The one on my flymow is trashed
That's a sweet Dani Single Cutaway there, Slippers!
you guys are nuts!!! do you have any videos on trouble shooting an HH120 charging system?
Thanks Taryl..... I just had to pick myself up off the floor where I P'd my pants...... LMAO!!!!!
This is better than the movies
I have a ice king auger with a 3 Tecumseh. Will the carb be interchangeable with the jiffy? My carb has a f on it.
Hi can these be used in dirt or are the gears not strong enough?
Hey taryl, love the videos. Question about the jiffy? Change diaphragm, needle, seat, spring. Auger fires everytime won't stay running? Tried the 2 screws, still the same. I have trufuel in it.the fuel is suppose to last 2years. It's 50:1 mix. I drained the fuel out last year for storage over the summer. Thanks brian
Where abouts does the start switch attach to? Mine is missing and I want to re-install it. TIA
Thanks for pointing out the "f" stamped on the carb. I rebuilt mine and could not get it to stay running! Pulled the 4 screws out, flipped the diaphragm and winna winna chicken dinna
"There's that noise again"... LMAO
Patriot III Tinman LOL! HA! Beverly Hillbillies!
What's the part number on that vented gas cap? Mine of my Eskimo is broken.
I changed the diaphragm and needle valve mine was sticking but in order to keep it idling I have to press the primer
I had an "F" on my carbitrator and I threw it away because I thought it had failed. I ordered one with an "A" from Amazon. It's taking a long time to get here, but I can understand that because the Amazon is a long way away.
Loving it . Slippers your a weirdo Ha Ha HaExcellent
Well I wish I had seen this video almost 20 years ago, I junked a snowblower because it had one of those carburetors on it and it kept pouring gas out. I even ordered a new carbitrator and the new one did the same thing! I guess that needle valve was stuck!

Basic shit u can do it
Those are cool cereal boxes
Miss them old Tecumseh diaphragm carbs.
Reliable.
"Prancing With the Has Beens," So True!
Where did you get replacement parts
Great fix Taryl but if I have to drill a hole in ice to get to the fish it's to cold to fish and the fish will be there when it warms up.
Prancing with the has beens. LOL
Ok I cleaned the carb on my old model 30 it has a metal bowl not plastic anyways once primed it starts but once it uses the gas in the bowl it stalls the only way it will keep running is if I keep priming it
thanks just repair mine 🤟
Slippers got a Tele over in the corner of his room there ??And we got us another good vid from Taryl ! Go catch a mess of fish !
I'm not sure if you've ever done an episode, where you introduce, Jr's mother, I'm thinking it's the bear that's been in quite a few other episodes, since he's so hairy.... LMAO
I love these videos. We have to keep pumping the primer to keep ours going does that mean the diaphragm is bad?
Gene Friedman thanks I’ll try it
yess
Man you got some ugly banged up workingman hands! We could be hand twins!! My long lost hand twin brother! Mom always liked you're hands best!
YOU MAY NEED TO TRY THE DIAPHRAM BOTH WAYS!... FYI...

@@kurtisbutler227 sorry man , I don't have time at the near future but a new carb is always the guaranteed solution.
Hey brother bctruck told me about you to go ahead and give you look see I can't wait to see what your channels all about I am a new subscriber
I want to see Blademan and Trottle finale
I need to rebuild the bottom end on mine I need help finding parts
Great video. Laugh my ass off!! What do u think about using trufuel in the jiffy? Mine was giving me issues and I tried it and it worked. But it won't stay running unless I keep priming it ?? Any idea? Thanks brian
I learnt sumtin today
I've had premix in containers do the same thing. All of the gasoline evaporates over a year or so and leaves the 2cycle oil behind as if there was never any gas in the container. Obviously there was a very small air leak in the container.
Need a box of wrenchos.....get a tune up!
And the tools end is from a crochet hook not knitting needle, wife wanted me to point that out.... LMAO
The 9/32" is 7mm. And the 2 bolts that hold the whole carb on are 11mm.
Now I've seen everything.
What's up Uncle Taryl ??
OMG, the crack being exposed! Are you sure you aren't plumbers? LMAO!
Heh heh heh, "diaphragm!"
These been coming in the shop because the lake is frozen. They are a pain to get them to run right.
Ya that's why electronic ones are better but I can't afford that I have gas starts good
I guess it depending on what brand u have jiffy has been around a long time
Good video simple repair..throw slippers over the fence just for good measure..lol..lol..
Just curious... why do you filter the old gas drained from the tank?
To check for sediment in the tank. Then it’ll need a good flushing
In case its still good and to remove possible contaminants.
When in doubt, dump it out. Are you going to try to save a few pennies or maybe even a whole dollar by salvaging old gas when old gas could be the main problem or at least a contributing factor?
that drill was running backwards....you'll have to drill the hole from the bottom up!!!
3:26 I'm Laughing My Ass Off...
Slippers cranking on it fillen tube sock
I know how you feel, I can't figure out that bell in my house either, but bet your ass every time I hear it a minute later someone is knocking on the door 😃😃

"Prancing with the has bens" 🤣🤣🤣
Mine starts just doesn’t turn
Poor Poor Slippers
He probably used fresh regular 87 octane rather than 91 gas.
Schweet!
Thank you! I now have two jiffy 35 legends cleaned up running great!
