A sound selection tutorial would be great advice! 1000s of stock synths in Logic can be overwhelming… throw in 3rd party synth plugins and my head spins😵💫
Something I've been doing lately is completely recreating certain parts of certain songs or samples, reflecting what my ears are picking up while incorporating what you've been teaching - its done wonders for my understanding and creativity; from sound selection to where certain elements belong in the mix. God bless brother!
When I was younger I would try to break down music I liked, and I noticed the most important part was the pre-beat drop rather than the beat drop. No one would root for the beat drop if the beginning wasn’t well made. Good video, learned and confirmed 👍
A...to the MEN! What a great video! The trick I was taught early on for massive bass....was keep the arrangement simple. Then, for all the other simple instruments, start cutting out the bottom end of each instrument as much as you can without causing too much harm to each sound. Leave all the room in the bottom end for just the bass. You can cut the bottom end out of guitars, Synths, even strings. Do a hard cut back to about 80hz or more on each instrument. It's also a good general exercise for mixing just to cut as much bottom end in each instrument as you can without destroying the sound. If you have any vocals in a track.....you will make simpler music arrangements for the vocals versus making an instrumental arrangement. It's crazy how arrangements change completely when you are writing for vocals. It's very different. Which is why most producers say to get your vocals done early before you get too far with the arrangement. You'll find your songs way too busy when you drop vocals in them. It changes how you arrange completely. Grear Video!
ik vind goed laat zien tegen wordig ben blij wat aan geven heb goed op pakken heb merk daar door zelf dat beter begrijpen blij mee dank kan leren van je .
Question - should I think about busy arrengement in the frequensies as well? Like if alot is going on instrumental wise, but most of it is higher in the frequensies, will it still make more room for the bass ass well? Ir is this more of a thing i should focus on when I mix? I have played instruments for over 20 years, and recently started producing music, and I find your videos very helpfull. I am taking you advice an focusing on making good arrangements for now, so that's why I am asking, because wondering if I should think about this when arranging.

Lesson nr one:
Bass is NOT!!! about VOLUME, it's about FREQUENCY.
Good baas is not necessarily heard, but much rather FELT.
Just so you know.
