That bread box was the winner today, the glass really pops now! You keep painting what/how you need! We are here to learn, we can alter colors if we need to 😉💜
Thanks so much 😊
Taking a chain or other heavy metal objects and pouncing your hammer on the chain or metal piece against the furniture is a way that I’ve seen woodworkers age wood. My father was a carpenter and did that to ceiling beams that he put up in an old farm house that he was renovating. It was beautiful.
Yes.. I’ve done that with bigger pieces too
When I first found you a couple of years ago, I remember you saying “Do what you love. Somebody else will love it too” Words to live by in the DIY world, imo. Thanks for another great inspirational video!❤
Brilliant pairing of the aged paper signs with the ancient frame! And the paint job is perfect with just the right amount of green peeking through.
Thank you ❤
I have my grandmother's old silverware caddy. My grandfather made it and painted it this color green. It's a treasure. I'm 67.
You do such a fantastic job! Love the color and the chippiness and the dirt lol and the distressing..... it's so cool. I totally agree with you ..... I would never buy that with the solid wood color but I sure would snap it up the way you restored it! Just lovely! I enjoy your videos very much. God bless.... Holly
Great transitions of the sign and bread box they turned out great. The stools definitely turned out aged looking also.
You are an inspiration to those of us who have or no idea what to buy at flea markets, and then how to make them pretty.🎉🎉🎉
Aww.. thank you ❤
That bread box is so awesome! So much better than the wood, you've got me into this green, lol...
Love the green pieces, the stools and the breadbox. Also love the swan. Great flips! 🤗
The black swan is beautiful but that bread box is absolutely gorgeous, I wish I lived close to your booth
Love watching you! Could be on my end, but, hearing you can be difficult.
She gets away from microphone.
That bread box would look fabulous in any kitchen, it’s just that good! Its a great color and addition to almost any style kitchen.
I am one that likes natural wood. However, when it's time to paint, its time to paint.❤ everything but the bread box is my favorite.
Do you remember an old episode of Mary Tyler Moore where she was going to antique furniture? She beat her furniture with a chain and started laughing and felt so weird beating her furniture. This episode just popped in my head. Lol. Thank you for sharing.
Lol.. I don’t.. it’s funny what our brains remember
All of your projects today were absolutely wonderful. I love the look of wood but seeing the transformation of the stools and breadbox, I am changing my mind. I have a stool like your that I am going to paint thanks to you. And I want more green in my kitchen. Would love the bread box but have no room. Thank you for your inspiration!
These turned out wonderful, that breadbox is fabulous ☺️💕
Yvonne I love how you rescue the broken things instead of trashing them I look at thins with more potential now🥰
I think the bread box is my favorite but as always, they are all fabulous looking. 😊❤
Thank you! 😊
Love them all, but the sign was my favorite!!!
I'm purist on some things! I have a 104 year old treadle sewing machine I'd never paint the cabinet. Bread boxes...yes. Partly because most out there are not that old. Chunky 80s style. That green is perfect.
LOVE that gorgeous black swan! My friend had a swan on her pond. (His mate died.) He was very fiesty. She always carried a broom to keep him from attacking her. Why do we love them so much? They are NOT cuddly!!!
No they are not.. but majestic they are.
ok, so I'm in love with that green! And the chipping. Love it. And the black wax. Seriously love these.
I use to wonder why you would go to all the trouble of painting items & then make them
look worn. I think you have changed my mind, I now like the chippy look. If people don't want you to paint the wood then they should get their butt in your store & but these pieces.
Hi Yvonne, I haven't heard you mention that green color was extremely popular in the 1930's followed by red in the 1940's. I love everything you create! Much love from NC.
Just love your videos. Learning so much. Wonder woman!
Love the bread box. The window really looked good after painting. ❤️
I'm not really a huge fan of green but the way you made that breadbox look is awesome! I bet you already sold it!!!!
I love your black swans. They are both beautiful!!
I Ginger, I loved every one of the thrifted flips. I really liked the bread box. That was beautiful. WOW Thanks.
Loved everything! And, honey, you do you. You know what sells. Bravo🎉
Thank you so much!!
I will never get tired of that green!
I loved everything. Looks amazing
Love the green and chippy paint in fact I love all your stuff
If you ever come across a a wooden swan head I need one really bad. I have a real old wooden swan but it has about half a neck soI need a little bit of neck with the head.
You are saving old pieces that still can have value from the garbage. Great job.
Beautiful as always. I appreciate that you take time to finish the whole piece, backs included. So many don’t! You sincerely care about each one! I have learned so much from you! Thank you for so much inspiration!
I absolutely love watching all your creations. I would love to visit your shop. I so want to find a couple of swans. They are so beautiful wonderful job as usual
Aww.. Thank you so much!
What is the difference between milk paint and chalk paint? And do why do you prefer milk paint (benefits). Also I’ve seen the bags, how long would they last with doing small project. I love the black swan even before you added beak (I would buy it for my house 😂 black my fav color). I’ve been dabbling with chalk paint and making my own for certain colors. But I love how dark the black is.
I find that milk paint is giving me a true vintage look ( chippy, crackle) without having to add anything else to make it do so. Chalk is great for the distressed look to see underneath paint color. But just have different benifits. It all depends on what you want to achieve as your end results.
I’m horrible with pricing! For instance, that bread box I would price at $34.95 in my booth in Arkansas.
Do you all think you would purchase it at that? Do you think my price is too low or too high? I live in a retirement town and the incomes vary from fixed income to very wealthy. Thank you for any input.
That’s a fair price.. I start at $55 on this one because it’s wood and big, and glass.
Love the bread box green is my favourite colour
The nail puller part is called a CLAW. Ie.Claw Hammer
Thank you 😉
Totally amazed❤ you are soo very good at what you do!! I love
watching you create! Green is my favorite color, however I’m so surprised that it sells so good for you. Do you think it’s your area or is it the trending color?
Everything turned out amazing but the swan stole my heart
Thank you
Jeanne
Baton Rouge 41:49
I don’t think it’s trendy.. our area really isn’t trendy. But I think it’s a close match to the old timey green color. And it’s a neutral green.
Love love the bread box and the Board and Rent sign.
Love the green! And the black swan too. xx
Great stools. I absolutely LOVE the Board and Rooms, GREAT SAVE! The swan is lovely. The bread box looks so much better. Really loving that green color! TFS Yvonne
Thanks so much! 😊
I’m so jealous, you seem to find so many bread boxes. I want one so bad and although I get to my resale shops at least once a week, I have never found one. I want to find one in the wild, because I want to paint it the color of my kitchen cupboards. I’ve been looking for about a year. I’m getting kinda discouraged.😩
Just when you stop looking you’ll find one. I’m sure of it❤
I just ordered some milk paint. And, yeah, there are stools in my stash too !! My breadbox needs an update too. It is the accordion style. I think I will tackle that piece also !!!
Awesome ❤
The old timey green is my favorite, so many old pieces are painted that way. I like to dirty up my things too! your terra cotta pots are an inspiration, i bought a whole bag of about 10 for 5 dollars at GW some aged others i am aging , putting them in a crate outside .
Love that. Great score ❤
I love green and everything u do ❤
U do u girl 😊
Love the stools!! Great job! Lotsowork!
**QUESTION!! I want to order a bunch of Milk paint and the Patina stuff from Dixie Belle, and maybe Jolie black Wax that you use all the time. Is there ONE place I can get it that Yvonne YOU get the commission and credit or no? Meaning When I click the links here for Basil and Flour sack (which I want) it takes me to a direct product page on Piglet store. But if then I go to search for Lantern or Cherry pie for example using the drop down on the Piglet website, I'm no longer on your link anymore correct? If piglet store is YOURS then YAY! but if not is there another way to do this to get you credit? Or your whole list in one place? THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO, YOU INSPIRE ME SO MUCH!!
Thank you for asking..yes they know it comes from my youtube page. ( how I'm not sure) but they are always fair to me.
I get a small commission from each of the sites. I really appreciate this. Thank you.
@@GingerChickRehab Ok perfect! You deserve it!!
I love the breadbox. The swan too.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the bread box!!! The old sign was good too. The stools came out so much better than the "brand new" look. And the black swan....gorgeous!! TFS.😊❤
Love the bread just beautiful the green is awesome 👌 . The swan to. 😊
Thanks so much 😊
All nice but the swan takes the cake
The bread box is beautiful!
love the sign and the black Swan is amazing love to see you change them into new pieces...Great Job!!
Everything look good❤
As you were talking about the black swans I looked them up on Google and found that there is a pair happily living at the Bird Sanctuary at Michigan State University!
I love watching you makeover the old, and often discarded items and give them new life!
Love love love the bread box!!
Green can totally be a neural ❤. I have dark (forest) green as the main neutral in my very colorful home😊. I loved that “board and rooms” sign. I could totally see it in a fun cottage core Airbnb. ❤
I totally agree!
Love the black swans.... and your music is happy and fun.... don't change anything.
Of course they all came out great. The bread box is a 100 times better now. Love it . Your Swan is beautiful black. I hope you kept it to go with other one you did over. Hugs
I have to say the stools weren’t my jam but the 3 color mix you did was beautiful ❤. Loved that shade of green
I love your painting technique. All your items turn out beautifully. I have kitchen cabinets, the color of the breadbox. It's a great color!Thank you for sharing your God-given talent.
I grew up with the greens of j the 60s. These shades are"hospital greens" because all hospital rooms, corridors, exam rooms, etc were green. Green is my favorite interior paint color. I really love the sign, I guess because it's different. Great job on that breadboard too. My momma had a green one.😊
I loved all of your makeovers! Each one turned out so very well! My favorites were that beautiful black swan and the green breadbox!! I love that color of green!! Very well done. Sincerely, Diane from Missouri 😊
Enjoyed this video so much. You do such awesome make overs. LOVED the bread box.❤
I love the bread box! But I love the sign more! I looked on eBay, you must have put it in your booth!!!!
I did put it in my booth…
Yvonne, don’t know if you’ll get time to read this ( but I’m a hoping you do). You mentioned that great paint brush but I didn’t get the size that you bought. If possible could you share that. I love buying my paint n ect… from the painted heirloom. Vonda is so wonderful n she definitely has quick delivery. I also use Pigletscloset n I bought the milk paint , basil, flour sack n pantry door. I need the pickle but didn’t you use 3 different greens on the stools?
Also, I received my little crocks ( basil n oregano. They came in perfect condition. You certainly wrapped them very well n want to say a big THANK YOU. I love them! ♥️😊👍
Oh yummy, that green is perfect! I just love it! It’s just like the green from way back then. Now I want to do over my tall stool with that green.
My heart be still…. the swan is so beautiful black n I want one. Never knew that their beaks were a red color. That’s cool.
Bread box looks so good with the green. I’m sure it will sell now. Now that sign you found n adding your own cards turned awesome especially with the rusty chain. Hey Yvonne, they all perfectly imperfect!
♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love your bread box, but I love everything you do!! I think I want to use more milk paint. I wish you lived closer, I would pick your brain, on all your ideas and how you decide on things to paint!!❤❤❤❤
Bread bin is lovely
Lol you speeded up your film but the voice over got speeded up too…ooops😮
It happens 🥴
Everything turned out beautifully again! Great makeovers!!!
I love that green color ❤
I loved all your treasures.. I’m am on the hunt for some swans.. lol
Oh.. I hope you find one soon ❤
A suggestion and a question...
Suggestion for eyes is a small package of seed beads from any craft store. I did this for a custom wolf necklace for a customer. She swooned over it.
Question: How do you know what's popular or in at the moment? Is it just based on sales?
Going to paint my swan black! Gorgeous! Loved all of these flips. Excellent!
Green is a neutral, ever see how many different flowers and trees have green leaves.
Yes.. yes you’re right ❤
The breadbox and black swam are my favourite! I’ve been looking for a breadbox for a few years. The green would be perfect in my white kitchen… wish I was closer because I’d nab it!
I loved each piece so much. The green is amazing. I paint everything. I don't care for plain wood. I certainly have learned so much from your makeovers. Have a great week 🤗
Here in mobile Alabama, someone had 2 black swans. I want to say it was Bellingraph. Look it up it's a beautiful home and garden.
Should have NO problem SELLING that GORG BREAD BOX NOW👍⭐👍
Awesome once again!!!❤ i have an old bread box that ive been staring at for months! Now i have an idea. Thank you so very much. Do you think i would be able to use left over paint from my walls? Its a satin finish. I just love the color!
Love the breadbox❤
Amazing pieces.
I live in Michigan too (Thumb) ♥️
Hello fellow Michigander 🖐️
There use to be a restaurant here in the Kalamazoo called the Black Swan and the had black swans on the small lake that you looked out on. Unfortunately after being there for many years they closed. I believe those swans are now actually at the bird sanctuary outside of kazoo
Kalamazoo Michigan?
@@GingerChickRehab yes Kalamazoo Michigan
Love everything once again - but the breadbox turned out so beautiful!
You always amaze me❤
The bench is beautiful and I love the breadbox. Now I will be looking for a breadbox to redo. Thanks for your concise instructions.
Would have liked the swan better with a whiteish beak and eye, the old sign is wonderful! I've always wondered if the lettering on the glass (bread) is removable... the leaded glass is a classic effect, but the lettering screams billboard. You really take all the extra work to make your pieces special.
So you took new stools, beat them up and painted them green to make them look old. But with the frame, which actually WAS old, beat up and green, you painted over it for a faux old finish.
Yep, the green items are complete winners!!! I also adore the black swan....so cute!
What a shame that you had to go through all that work when you could've come to my house and could have a bunch of painted pieces. My hubby took apart a good sized garden frame and the wood is just laying around in the weather. I love weathered wood but, I prefer it in the raw. Oh well, maybe next time lol. Love your channel btw.
Those power tools I have learned are saving your hands long term . Dupin's contraction can still happen. So giving your hands breaks and soaks inwarm water or a paraffin bath( a warm waxs that makes them feel so nourished ) its used to heal injuried hands also after the cuts or wounds have closed ,but muscles were restricted even breaking your hand . I've had surgeons say they use it given the long hours that or my newly restricting their hands during surgery. I tell people useing sewing machines for long periods of machine sewing. It's also called vicking disease as they did micro work with leather and even women braiding hair to baskets.
I have watched and loved your creations for years. Everything you do and how you do it is top notch. I just can't get used to the black wax. The more i see it the more i feel like the furniture looks stained. Like what used to be in a family friends race car garage. I find myself not watching this channel as much. The other styles/finishes you've used have looked "clean" aged.
I love everything you do but the breadbox is my favorite today. I love that green!
