Can tell this is gonna be a Great series because of Masakazu Tamura, who famously played Nemuri Kyoshiro in the TV series and the 4 films Tamura is such an elegant actor playing in a lot of good roles My other favorite Jidaigeki shows and movies including Zatoichi Mute samurai Kiichi Hogan Lone wolf and cub (1972-1974, Wakayama Tomisaburo) Shogun Iemitsu Secret Journey Private Detective Dobu Shogun Samurai Shogun Mission Lone wolf and cub (2002, Kinya Kitaoji) Lethal Three
I don't know, but I always feel that Masakazu-san is better suited to play the role of a cold and near-emotionless character in a period drama. I was first fascinated by his play when I first saw him act and Nemuri Kyoshiro in that series, not to mention his other acting in a few different movies as well. Not sure if this series will continue on the free-to-watch. i don't really have high hopes for it then.

instead of being weak, I feel this version of Yoshumune utilitarian. He may love Mondo's mother and appreciate his talent or even love him. But comparing with position of the Shogun, they're nothing.😞
@@NguyenAnh-qk3uw yeah, this series is a spin off anyway, maybe this is the story of old Yoshimune where he could'nt do adventures anymore. Even Ooka Echizen looks somewhat helpless and incapable.

May I know the name of the actor who cut the rope tied to the servant. I always see this actor in samurai movies or series, and always plays a bad guy.

This is a way different portrayal of Yoshimune than I’ve seen before. Masakazu really nails the role of the fearless, emotionless samurai.

After Masakazu Tamura auditioned in Nemuri Kyoshiro and 47 Ronin 1979, he portrays Yoshimune in this movie.
Yoshimune is played by Takahiro Tamura, Masakazu's elder brother 😉 His younger brother Ryo plays Ooka Tadasuke 🙂
