  • "I got the job done...I'm a calculated fighter...no one talked about Floyd Mayweather early on before I had hand problems...throughout the years, boxing is wear and tear on the body...with my hands taking a lot of wear and tear, I have to be smarter and use different angles and make adjustments...I was satisfied," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who spoke in-depth about his performance in his unanimous decision victory over Manny Pacquiao. Check it out!

    I have nothing but love and respect for Floyd. Yes he is very talented, but he works so hard to hone his skills, always striving for perfection and that is truly inspirational.
    A man that works hard and dedicates his whole life to perfect a certain skill is something truly beautiful, be it a tailor, a mason, a carpenter, a musician or an athlete.
    I have been a fan since I saw him fight Arturo Gatti 10 years ago and I am thankful that I got to witness greatness.

      @@media-mela hate to tell you but he is a filipino. there are two things that differentiate a filipino from others ; good genes and hardwork. pacquiao is a typical filipino athlete. he trains even when not prepping up for a fight. our food here in the country have less preservatives and hormones. we call our foods "native-grown" to differentiate with the main market. pacquiao lives in a province where native-grown dominates the market.
      but what you still dont understand that manny pacquiao is INDEED AGING. he is slower. he now tires midway (as shown in the thurman fight) and the fact that he is fighting at welterweight which is above is normal limit does not help him as it puts him in a disadvantage both in durability and ability to hit hard.

      BS. Gayweather is a runner. That's what boxing fans don't like about this man, if you can call him that. Yes. he has a lot of flash, a lot of dash, a lot of skills, but he knows his chin won't hold up in a real firefight. So, what does he do? The only thing he can: run, run, and run some more. He mixes it up with lesser boxers, but not with the Pacquiaos and Maidanas of the world. Why? Because he knows that he will get his ass flattened. That's why so many boxing fans can't stand him. It's not envy, Michael It's because he won't get in fire fights and it pisses off hard core boxing fans like myself who remember the Joe Fraziers, the Roberto Durans, the Muhammad Alis,, the Marvin Haglers, the Thomas Hearns, the Jack Dempseys, the Joe Louis's, the Sugar Ray Leonards and the Henry Armstrongs. We remember them because they were true warriors, man. They put their lives and souls on the line in every damn fight. Gayweather is nothing like that. He dances without purpose except to avoid contact. Who the fuck does that in any contact sport?

    A lot of people judge mayweather by what they know about him from the last 10 years but when he first turned pro, Floyd was hurting everyone he was facing. I remember that fight, when i was young, when he hurt Ayala with that nasty liver shot. He had my attention from then and i've been watching ever since. It all makes sense with the pull back of the power with the breaking of his hand. Your hand will never be the same but boxing isn't ALL about power punching. Amateurs proves that. You can win on points and knowing the ART of the boxing science. Floyd uses EVERYTHING in boxings "playbook" to take you apart. Most boxers are one dimensional. Either good at offense or good at def. Floyd has it all down and is good at capitalizing on your mistakes and keeping the points in his favor at the end of each round. Smartest boxer to ever live and the skills to match. Enjoy the show!

    Floyd said in the Stephen A. Interviews that he wanted to beat Manny but he said he wanted to do it with "such class." That fight was classless. You got millions of potential boxing fans that spent money to see this fight. It's one of the most viewed sporting events in history that costs 100 dollars. You have boxers that are inspired by this guy. He said that he was training hard for a knock out. You got his dad in the corner telling him that he needed to be more active. Then immediately after the fight you have videos and memes calling him a chicken that ran and held the whole night. I DOUBT that he was satisfied. How can Floyd be comfortable knowing that everyone that watched that fight felt that they were duped and that Floyd "ran" the whole night and that Floyd was responsible for how they felt?

      Jason Nguyen Who gives a fuck? It's the general public perception of what happened that night. It's not my personal views so spare me your analysis of the fight. And what part of what i said even included why this happened or why that happened. All you're doing is patronizing and you sound like a total ass. And the guys who replied to you are sheep. That fight was boring as shit and that's why fans were lost that night.

    • @CXLV-
      @CXLV- 9 лет назад +2

      i don't know any fans that were lost because of this fight.. whoever they are, aren't fans then, if one fight can put them off the sport. the sport of boxing is bigger than Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, so to whoever said fuck boxing because of one fight lmao, boxing was never for them.
      as for the rest of your post, i follow Floyd's media and workouts and i watched all the HBO and showtime shows leading up to this fight. and also the Stephen A Smith interviews, not once did i hear him say he was training for a knockout. i may be wrong. but when you said how can Floyd live with himself knowing fans felt duped and this and that. well firstly, he's one man. he has millions upon millions of viewers/fans. do you expect him to be able to please everyone? let's be reasonable, in other words what you're saying is that he should abandon a certain style that works so well for him to adopt one that yes, may rally up fan excitement but could be detrimental to his health and his record? why the fuck would he do that? for someone's viewership pleasure, a person who doesn't even actually give a shit about him or his life lol get real. the alternative is, you could learn to appreciate different styles of boxing instead of only liking brainless toe to toe action that requires little to no skill. anybody can get in the ring and brawl with Manny Pacquiao. not everyone can get in there and thoroughly outbox him for 8 rounds out of 12. besides, whichever style he adopted for this fight would have other critics just like you so he may as well do whatever he feels is best. like he said in the shosports show; damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. people will find something to criticise whatever he does.

  • @smsuperman1219
    @smsuperman1219 9 лет назад

    Many don't give him credit because most of the time he jumps back from punches thrown at him. Hugs when he's cornered expecting the ref to save him. Jumping back is the easiest way to escape punches. The guys I see fighting on the street do that. Legends are the ones with more heart, more balls, more confidence to stay there, block punches, dodge punches, have a great offense that shuts down the opponent. Jumping back is the easy way out. The truly skillful ones hold their ground within reach of being hit, but block, dodge, and overwhelm the opponent. In this last fight, the aggressor was the one getting countered. So when Floyd brought the fight to Pacquiao he was getting countered. He said right after the fight that he was getting hit when fighting in the pocket. When Pacquiao waited for Mayweather, Pac was landing punches. When Pac was feinting, Floyd had no clue what to do and ran to the other side of the ring. He was shaken up in the few rounds Pac hit him. Lost his legs, stayed on the ropes waiting to get his legs back. Sorry but legends aren't the fragile ones that fight in a survival style, and win by points. Ali never ran, jumping away, from the fighters that had insane power.
    Mayweather's style in the ring is just not the kind that earns the title of greatest. Not trying to hate. Just saying why so many don't give him credit. He's got the strong will of a champion. He is a great fighter. But imo not the best. If his hands didn't have problems he'd be able to use full power the whole fight. Not just a few. But he's been knocked down before he turned pro. That's why he became a defensive fighter. His chin is also a bit of a weakness. But Amir Khan is also badass but has the worst chin in for any good fighter. So all the ifs don't count.
    Muhammad Ali still goat.

    • @smsuperman1219
      @smsuperman1219 9 лет назад

      Never said taking punches is good. Fearless to punches doesn't mean you have to take them. Not all great and brave fighters get Parkinson's. Joe Frazier and Foreman fought hard punchers also. They weren't the only two power punchers. They fought bravely with the intent to block and dodge punches. They did not get Parkinson's. The only fighters that I seen take full power punches intentionally are Ricardo Mayorga against Trinidad, and Wright against Mosley. Mayorga was funny because he took the punches well but eventually got knocked out after many punches.

    I have more respect now for floyd and I routed for manny. Both are great fighters. I think floyd won this one no doubt with his jab and right hooks. I think Mayweather should give manny a rematch though as his 50th fight (not next fight) there is a lot of hate going on for floyd And I want floyd to cement his greatness twice on manny to prove that no doubt he is the tbe. I think he will gain even more fans taking that risk. The truth is we all knew what floyd would do in the ring. Being floyd Mayweather. It was on manny to break the style of floyd and he failed and I think a rematch would kill any excuses . If floyd should ever lose a fight however it should be to manny and no one else. Both are great and we would understand it both ways. I also enjoyed how the fighters did not have any real friction during the training camp. I think floyd would enjoy the process of re match now with more confidence. Oh and watch out for khan Floyd! He is fast.

    Floyd Mayweather is a genius in the ring ; he is truly always 10 steps ahead of all his opponents in the ring. I mean, literally, just look at his most recent fight with Manny Pacquiao. He wasn't a 100 steps ahead of Pacquiao because the ring had ropes that limited how far he could back away from Pacquiao but if those ropes weren't there, Mayweather would be doing laps around the MGM grand.

    I think what Floyd is trying to say is that he can't do things he used to do from his early fights. Go back and watch Floyd against Gatti, Corrales, Corley, Judah etc. In those fights floyd was throwing combinations and walking opponents down. I'm a Pac fan. If Manny Pacquiao had taken Mayweather's gameplan and used it against Mayweather, I would've sure indeed praised Pacquiao because he recognized that boxing has this warped standard that if you punch your opponent with the most cursory of punches every now and then that cause 0.00002% damage to your foe, and stay on the backpedaling bicycle for most of the fight, you're somehow declared the winner.
    Pacquiao would've been giving Mayweather a taste of his own medicine and this would've been the perfect comeback ; beating Mayweather in his own game.

    Let me tell you why people hate floyd. They hate his skin colour.
    They hate to see a black man independent, outsmarting everyone in the business and dictating the terms of his career.
    They don't mind a black fighter but he has to be subordinate to a white man, he has to depend on a white man to cut him a check, they like a price fighter, a mandingo fighter to parade on. But to see a black man that was intelligent enough, not book smart but business savvy, to outgrow arum and every white man in that industry. That annoyed them.
    They pay to watch him lose, desperate. He will get his props much much after he retires it will mostly come from boxing purists. Floyd is the fighter to give other fighters a blueprint to be more than a chicken in a cock fight. If he was white he'd have been lauded for that, but he is not.

    After watching the May-Pac fight a lot of times, I am convinced that Pacquiao is a superior and more complete fighter than Mayweather. During the fight, Manny was both the better offensive and defensive fighter with better power... and to think that Pacquiao was fighting hurt from 4th round onwards... that made it even more interesting.
    This era is an era of high technology and leveled information with the advent of the internet and mobile computing, so basically, we just need to use our brains and available data and no one can manipulate us into believing lies and deceit...
    No "expert" commentator, judge, fighter can brainwash a well informed "regular" individual...
    Now, we have a choice... we can choose to be equipped with information by researching on our own... or we can choose to be fed with whatever the supposed "experts" want us to consume...
    It's your choice..
