You may already have heard "Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding", his 11 minute-long, two-part Progressive Rock masterpiece. The second part especially rocks hard.
I saw Elton John at Dodger Stadium back in the Day. He was wearing a blue Dodger Uniform and he looked out at the Crowd and yelled Guess what "it's Saturday night"!!!!!! Best Concert ever!

There aren't many Elton John songs like this because this is Elton satirising heavy rock music. This is Elton saying look, I can do this, I just choose not to. The lyrics are actually quite scathing of Bernie's opinions of yob culture, and Elton wrote music to match.

Basically, he's saying, we go to school 5 days a week, and Church one day a week, after the Football game we like to PARTY & FIGHT. LOL. P.S., the USA made Elton famous, he never made it in the UK, when he came to LA he took off like a Rocket, no pun intended.
