After watching some wordpress videos on YT, I accepted an offer to open a company's website. Boom, run into the same error! I was almost depressed! Thank you for this video, it saved my day and my job!!🎉
I may be good at tech, but not at building and managing websites. You just saved my entire business! Thank you SO much!
Great to hear!
You...are...AMAZING!!! I was literally freaking out because my site wouldn't load - no idea how long it's been down - this worked like a charm! Thank you!
I didn't even finish the video. I saw the plugin error, updated the plugin, and everything went well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
My plugins were fine, my theme was causing error. luckily you mentioned checking error code, (other tutorials didn't really show how to check there the problem is starting from) so error showed theme.. I exact changes to the theme folder and reinstalled theme. Thank you :) 🙏
Glad to hear that
Hope you found this tutorial helpful. Don't forget to check important links in description to learn how to create backup of website.

Hello good day... I have triedthis out but I think I have a different problem my site is still allowing me to login how ever whenever a user try to sign up it shows the critical error screen and that has now extended to the dokan pro plugin I recently installed please what do I do I tried the error log but it's not showing any plugin...
I tried it and it didnt work on plugins. I did change the "Theme" folder to a different name since the last thing I tried before I locked it down was the theme. Thanks!!!
Mine problem was same as yours! Thanks for the tip! But after I got back into the Dashboard, I could not reinstall the Theme. How did you overcome that??
@@AlvinIMPossible Not sure if this helps after waiting for an answer. In Wordpress dashboard site, I clicked the theme that caused the error, deleted it, then reinstalled it. My site wasn’t broken anymore afterwards.
Front end website is working, backend login page comes up but we cannot browse dashboard
This is super awesome! So easy and straight forward. You are life saver. Thanks so much.
my problem only 1page.. other page can open...can you help me?? plss
Hi, what if the error is theme related, and not plugin related
Follow Same process, you can deactivate suspected plugins and try to see if that fixes the problem and then reactivate them later. Also always have backups before making any major changes.
Very helpful you're real master of wordpress unlimited love
Thank you very much, I searched a lot and only you could help me
What if you do not have CPanel?????
Hallo SHG, my website got broken (500 Internal Server Error) after installing the "Really Simple SSL" plugin. I have already desactivated and activated all my plugins straight from my SSH terminal since I do not have c-Pannel neither Wordpress admin access and still have no results.
I also went to my "wp-config.php" file and activated the "define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );" and
"define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );" command and still the URL does not show the specific error refreshing the URL neither generated the error.log file (or at least I can't find it at the wp-content folder or any other html).
Do you think you could give me some advise. I would really apreciate very very much.
That's really strange. Please make sure you have a valid SSL and your site is accessible over https before activating that plugin. I will check if i can find more info about such issue.
That's right@@smarthelpguides, what would you think about deleting the .htaccess file and creating a new one? Aparently this could be the problem source (an .htaccess misconfiguration) nevertheless this file doesn´t seems to show any wird text inside. Any way, what would you think and I really apreciate very very much in advances due your atention and kindness (no other youtube expert has had towards my concern so really apreciate you)
In your first comment you metioned file name wrong. It's wp-content/debug.log not error.log so I hope u were not looking for wrong file.
Before making any changes to htaccess please take a backup of its content or entire file like.htaccess.old.bk.
Another thing I would suggest is increasing memory and try. define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
If still log is not showing in wp-content folder. You can enable it on front end temporarily define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true);
After fixing error disable debug options.
Also check if u see a valid SSL here smartlinktools.com/tools/ssl-lookup
@@smarthelpguides Man you are wonderfull, really really helpfull and thankfull, you are great, thank you, let me tray 🙏

I tried for both plugins and themes but the error is repeating 😭.
Please give a solution.🙏
Check if you have backups. Try to find cause of error, else you will have to disable things which you suspect could be causing issues.

Problem solved. Great Video.
my website is not repair
You saved me! Thank you so much.
I accidentally interrupted WordPress updates and my website had stuck in the maintenance mod. I took a bad advice and deleted the .maintenance file and now I am having the critical error. Non of the tutorials help!
You should try restoring from backup
@@smarthelpguides The thing is I downloaded a backup from past from host provider but there is no .maintenance file there since the website was not in mainteinance mode at the time backup was made. But, when I replace all files it should work right? Restoring as simple as that right? My hosting provider does not support restoring all I can do is download a backup and replace the files in file manager. I am just afraid to do that because I feel like restoring requires more steps I am unaware of..
No don't restore files in manager you need database backup too. Maintenance files should be a temporary lock file, may be u can create it. I will update you tomorrow. Which host you are using? Send me an email with your site details
@@smarthelpguides Yes I want to prepare a .mainteinence file but I fall short on experinece and knowledge. I copied an example from internet and put it in files and it gave me html 500 error. So it was a fail. I will send you a mail with site details but what exactly do you need?
Site url, error screenshots, host details basic details to understand the problem. I will try to help you.
OMG you saved my project

I applied the same strategies you advised, but still same critical error.
Not opening my website.
Trying to find what is causing the issue is what I have tried to show. Also see if your hosting provider can help.
Dope! Thanks brother

Glad to know it was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
How do I get to the Cpanel from the error page? is it a web address?
Usually you can access it like this cpanel.yoursite.com or site.com:2083
But it could be different depending on your hosting company
This video really really helped me alot. JazakALLAH for sharing this.
