    I drive a 2018, 6 soul red turbo 2.2D wagon. I have to say it's the nicest car I've driven. We'll see how it stacks up over time, but for now I'm having a blast... I just returned from a road trip averaging 4.9L to 100k's. Elegant and timeless styling both inside and out.

    Just purchased an Atenza wagon in soul crystal red. Running it on 98 Ron which increases power to approx 190kw. Previously owned a VF Calais V8 and haven't noticed a huge amount of difference in power around town given the 6 is also approx 160kg lighter. Optioned with a full size spare and love this car great driving position and feels super luxurious. Great review guys spot on.

      Whoever told you running your car on higher RON fuel gives it more power was lying to you.
      RON is determined by the number of electrons in the outer shell of the atomic structure of the fuel. Higher RON ratings simply have more electrons in those outer shells to spare which means they bond to more *stuff* in your fuel system and drag it out when combusted. This means it burns cleaner, but not any harder.

      @raytonisson881 10 месяцев назад

      According to the American Mazda reviews they advise that non turbo engines have no difference in performance by running higher Octane fuels but for turbo and supercharged engines the higher octane fuels boost engine performance by advancing the timing (or something like that I'm a pen pusher and by no means an expert on the matter and only guided by the myriad of reviews with one from Mazda USA advising approx 10% increase in power by running the 2.5 turbo on 93 octane instead of 87). Non the less its a brilliant car except for the front wheel spin on wet days if you aren't concentrating@@bartandaelus359

      @@bartandaelus359i have developed spark maps for car companies with an engine dyne which is constantly measuring torque and you are wrong. Modern engines are mapped so that they are constantly trying to advance the spark to a "top table" (mapped to 98-101 ron) and if the engine detects knock it retards the spark using long and short term multipliers for each cylinder which interpolates between this top table and a bottom table map (89-95 Ron depending on market car is sold). The torque change is noticeable as per Mazda 6 numbers eg. 5-10%

    It's real wood on the dash and doors on this 20th and the standard Atenza models. The turbo is also only available on two trims, the GT SP and Atenza. The normally aspirated engine is on the two bottom trims, Sport and Touring. Both the Sport and Touring are really well equipped for the money as well. Great review and you got and described the character of this car well.

    I have a 2021 Mazda6 Signature sedan. I traded my Nissan truck for it. Best deal I ever made. Mazda was always the "fun" car back in my childhood (1980s), and they are still that plus much more. But still with the old school vibe where it counts: real torque converting transmissions, turbo, simple yet elegant interior (LOVE IT!!!!!!), and they still come with an actual spare tire! Bravo for that alone. But anyway, I live north of Atlanta, GA USA. Up around the GA, NC, TN border there is a road called "Tail Of The Dragon". It ... is ... dangerous ... !!!!! Google or youtube it. Crazy crazy winding road on a mountain side. My '21 turbo 6 will hang with the big boys (Audi, VW, BMW, etc...) on that road. I've screamed in terror a few times but I stayed in the pack. Well done Mazda!

    I pick mine up tommorrow, i got a dealer used 2022 altenza wagon with same motor, has 6000km on it. for 44k. I was close to getting a used i30 N sedan with 10'000km for $2k more but opted for the Mazda as its a far more sensible and quality vehicle. The interior sold it for me, the i30 N felt cheap; sure its a more fun car but at my age of 40 Years old, i prefer comfort and crusing. plus 170/420nm is plenty of power for me :)

    • @davidliang7855
      @davidliang7855 6 месяцев назад

      It is, but not slow as the video, normally around 7.1s.
      because in Au it only comes with FWD, the wheel spin wastes too much of torque, ... and the bridgestone tires are quite slip either.
      the disel version in japan comes with AWD, that is much faster than the fwd, around 6.5 I remember?
      I would say this 6 is not real good for urban red light racing, but it is a quite powerful daily car.
