A great talk - I met Michael years ago. So much has happened since this talk was given. I visited Michael’s grave in Chislehurst recently. Thank you for posting.
We most certainly are in grave need of Mr.Davies during this time of confounding confusion, turmoil and upheaval in our Church. His common sense and clear headedness are sorely missed.
I had heard his voice. I heard his name mentioned, I saw he thrashed Dr Jones in a debate. This is like sweet nectar. I didn't know of his passing so I shall grieve and give thanks. Amen
The talk of Michael is highly enlightening to understand the present state of the Roman Catholic Church. We must fight without reservation for the preservation of the Roman Catholic Doctrine which is its essence.
When I found Father Martin on RUclips I found the reasons of what has happened to our Catholic Church and the Mass. Michael Davies explained even better.
@@Kitiwake exactly. @@Kitiwake sorry you are wrong, decrees that are declared infallible and binding cannot be reversed. Quo Primum was declared infallible and binding, therefore it cannot be reversed.
We all need to listen to this eloquent speaker if we want to see a decent world instead of making oneself higher than God. If we continue to criticize religion we will have distorted men who find it a game to dehumanize humanity.
Modernism - Michael Trehane Davies, thank you for enlightening how Christianity turned into atheism and destruction of human reason .....now people can commit unimaginable homicides and display on the Facebook or on the www web for destruction of human race. Life has no meaning and people can boast of their abuse of sanctity of life.
Please correct the following: the image displayed in the video, from minute 37 and onwards purporting it to be an image of Afred Loisy, modernist, is NOT of Loisy but of the famous catholic and very orthodox biblical scholar Marie-Joseph Lagrange, o.p., of the Ecole biblique de Jérusalem. this can simply and objectively be corroborated from the foto itself as a dominican friar can put on the cap of his vestment of the order of the preachers and it will be the white cap you see in the photo on display. Now Loisy was never a dominican and never wore such a cap. It can also be verified by searching the internet for Marie-Joseph Lagrange, o.p., while the photo will then be correctly seen as to whom it belongs.
That’s somewhere along the lines of Napoleon that was roughly, “history is a lie agreed upon.” Nietzsche went a step further and replaced “history” with “truth.”
Davies's scholarship has fed my desire for learning "how did this happen". The father of lies has been working on men's souls through pride and arrogance. " I will not serve" is spoken over and over.....
Our archbishop seem to believe that the women (bread crumbs eaten by little dog thing) *"made Christ (the man) realize"* that his mission of salvation would also include the gentiles. HIGHLY heretical, based on what the Church have always taught, regarding the divinity of Christ. It was of NO SURPRISE that I later found out that this belief is shared by James Martin, the pro-gay Jesuit priest who -- let's be honest -- would've already been excommunicated for something like this, a few pontificates back. God help the Church! Help us get RID of modernism.

All lies the lies of a Pope office and cardinals, no such office's in new testament. If peter was the rock then why 2 epistles of Peter, and jesus remark to Mary regards john as her son, not Peter!!!. Jesus said call no man our father or rabbi. Vicar of Christ is not biblical, the holy Spirit was the teacher and comforter , not a vicar of Christ
The authority of the Magisterium does not reside with V2 which refused it or with Pope Francis who refused the title of Vicar of Christ? While not quite declared here, it is implied. If we deny one truth, we deny them all. There's lots of implications from that one.

@Lavrov Yaboy How could Monsignor Montini later Paul VI be Pius XII, assistant secretary and work for the CIA. In the years after the council, Paul had to balance between progressive and conservative wings of the Church. He did an admirable job even in the midst of the turbulent 1960s. You had mentioned Leo XIII and Pius XI but what of John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI two good and holy men. I have read Benedict XVI's books on the Life of Christ which I think are better than Romano Guardini's book on the Lord. Why have 6 senses and we don't trust them then. Jesus Christ said ," the kingdom of God is within you" that debunked original sin that we inherit.the keys. Of jesus can open or shut our hearts.if we stay obedient
As Catholics we do not know that God created everything in six days and that the earth is only a few thousand years old. The official position of the church actually accepts evolution and the big bang as possible theories. The "six day" position is largely protestant and is particularly associated with protestant fundamentalism (which I diametrically oppose). There is also great and legitimate debate regard the use and meaning of "day," which could represent considerably longer periods than 24 hours. I am not picking a fight; however, we cannot make simple assumptions in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence. I am certain, however, that we have souls, we are saved through the crucifixion and resurrection ( and the supper of the lamb), and receive grace through the sacraments.
I hear what your saying ,but that's for debate ,and unless you have a crystal ball REALLY there is no answer ,its not important ,however its nice to know how others think ,as long as your solid in truth (james kirk)
This preacher seems highly in favor of the type of religious intolerance that is leading many to reject religion as a whole. Pius X was not worried about people leaving the faith. he was worried about the Church losing authority. It is religious authority itself that many see as a type of tyranny to be banished to the ash heap. Sadly this type of tyranny still exists in places like Saudi Arabia. Which ironically is a chief ally of the US. It will be a welcome day when all forms of intolerance, both religious and civil are a thing of the past.
Do you seek a world without authority, without order, without faith? The speaker is talking precisely and exclusively about the Roman Catholic Church, the Church. The protestant and other churches/religions offer any choice of belief that you could want and, if you don't like any of them, you can always start your own church. When you can believe in anything, you believe in nothing.
Correction there are other religious practices just as intolerant as the old Church was. Islam is chief among them. Many of the draconian Muslim laws(some refer it as Sharia) enforced in places like Saudi Arabia, Iran , and others are very similar to old Church dogmas. Hopefully there will come a day when Islam undergoes the same overhaul as the Church has been trying to do recently.
Catholicism has never forbidden other religions the way Saudi Arabia has done and salafis argue for. Even in the darkest hours of Catholicism there were legal believers of other religions in Catholic jurisdictions.
There has been ALMOST perfect religious liberty in Catholic Poland since Middle Ages. Jews were settling down in large numbers and in 18th century 3/4 of the world's Jewry lived in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
