I found your video while researching for an upcoming trip in the same area. Your narration and photography are unparalleled. It one of the best videos of the area I have seen. ‘Merica!!
Live in Nebraska and this is one of favorite places. I wish you could have seen Deadwood 30 years ago, before the casinos took over. It was an awesome little town. Next time Harney peak and Sylvan lake are something else to visit. The Badlands are amazing. Thanks!
Born and raised in South Dakota here. Beautiful video. I actually found it because I get homesick (Alaska) sometimes and just seeing my Black Hills makes me feel better. This was awesome and so nice to hear appreciation of my home state. The best time to go back is in early to mid June, before tourist season surges. You shouldn't have the heavy crowds then. It's the worst through most of August and after Sturgis until most schools are back in session and summer vacations are over. My family used to have a motel in the southern Hills and our lives weren't our own during tourist season. Also, in case anyone else is put off by the traffic in Deadwood, I just want to say it's that way because the way it is laid out in the hills there is only one corridor through most of the town and that single road is main street. So it doesn't take much to make it seem like heavy traffic. But once you get parked everything is withing walking distance. Everything!
Thanks very much for sharing your insight. We look forward to our next visit, hopefully again in 2020. I will definitely keep your time table in mind as we plan it all. Cheers!
This is a really well done video, and many of your still shots were outstanding. When you come next, try to come either a bit before the bike rally or a little later, Any time from mid-May to mid-July, or the latter part of August through mid-September, and you'll miss the big crowds. You didn't mention it in your video, but other highlights are Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road. You mentioned the Wildlife Loop Road in Custer State Park, which is worth doing twice, once in the morning and then once in the evening. You can also visit Wind Cave NP, hike up Black Elk Peak (highest point between the Rocky Mountains and the Alps), bike beautiful Spearfish Canyon, and take the short trip over to Devil's Tower NM in Wyoming.
Great video, thank you for this. I'm headed there next month and you've given me a lot to be excited about for my upcoming trip. Love the music playing during your Badlands images, too. Nice job!
Thanks CM! Yeah, I was limited on drone usage because of the laws in the National and state parks. I wanted to fly around Rushmore especially, but it's a minimum 1,000-dollar fine.
Wow!! Very nicely done video on South Dakota. I also enjoyed your realism you put into it with your own frustrations on vacation, I think we’ve all been there! I’ve visited South Dakota the last week of May 2020 as the scamdemic drug on. It was actually a great time to go because there were much fewer people out and about and many of the things that were open were free because they were not totally open. (Mount Rushmore). I trailered my motorcycle up to the Badlands and rode in to the Black Hills from there. I cannot wait to go back this May, and I’m riding the whole way, no more of that trailer nonsense! I can’t wait to check out more of your videos. Thank you!
Thanks a binch. We are looking forward to getting back up there, too. I'm hoping to make up for 2020 with a vengeance with regard to motorcycle trips in particular. Cheers.
Probably one of the best videos on RUclips about this trip. Am a week away from experiencing this myself. I can hear myself saying the same things...people🙄
South Dakota is on my bucket list. Hoping for spring 2021, depending on the dang virus. We'll be driving there from Michigan. Loved your video. Really well done. 💜
I’ve been planning a summer road trip from North Texas to SD. I am lucky to have found your video!!! Thank you so much!! Incredibly helpful and informational.
I always learn a lot from a Tim Kreitz Adventures video. I and love your enthusiasm and respect for the subject you're sharing with us even more so perhaps this time. Brilliant video mate !!
Just took a trip from pa to Seattle. Friend moved out there so we drove from Philly pretty much to Washington. Saw a bunch of stuff along the way, mount Rushmore was awesome to see. Got to see the badlands alittle
Amazing video and frankly the fact that you point out your own normal human emotion of being annoyed with "people" says a lot. Creating content for media/youtube lends itself to the creator portraying whatever they want. You reflect just a genuine perspective with a well narrated background. Didn't know anything about the Lakota crazy horse monument and although watched the series "deadwood" didn't really know the history. While I was in CA for SCMM I rode out to the Salton sea and surprisingly on my return almost everyone I talked to back home (Indiana) had never heard of it. Surprising how easily information is obtained but there is so much in the world we overlook.
Very much agreed. America is so massive, and there are so many places of consequence to see, that we are always discovering something that seems new and undiscovered to us as we travel. That's one of the many beauties of the USA. Cheers and thanks, sir!
WARNING: If you're here to post anti-American bullshit about Mt. Rushmore, bellyache about how Native Americans got the shaft or just generally act like an asshole, feel free to fuck right off. Comments are set to approval, so rest assured that your propaganda will never see the light of day. As a bonus, the account you're using will be blocked. Here's something better to do with your time: online.hillsdale.edu/landing/constitution-101
Looked like an awesome trip Tim. Excellent job of putting together the footage as always mate. I'd love to tour through that part of the USA. I never made it that far north. The Deadwood cemetery would be amazing to look through. I watched the Deadwood TV series and researched the real history of the town whilst watching. Fascinating stuff! Oh man, those images are amazing! Wow!
Fantastic video man ..... How have I never seen this one before ? I tried to get here last year on my bike but only made it 3/4 of the way there before I turned around (got sick) it wasn't a fun time lol . Great job Tim. I'm heading this way again in 2020 but taking the convertible this time .
Ridewithgnr,.... From my wife's IPad,... Just beautiful, Tim. Glad you got that awesome getaway in your summer. Made it to Custer's last stand, but never into the bad lands. You have wet our appetite for more scenery. Interesting area full of Native American History and many sad losses due to GREED during the expansion of the U.S. Fantastic panoramic pictures!
You guys would love seeing the badlands, George. It's astounding in every ay and someone like you would appreciate it more than most. Cheers, my friend!
This is great work Tim! Your frustration with the amount of humanity is something we share. That’s one reason I don’t like vacations in cities. I guess I need to go to the badlands some day. Be good my friend.
Great video! I agree badlands NP is the highlight of that area. A suggestion to other viewers: enter the park from the West through Scenic and drive Sheep Mountain Road, then head NE on Sage Creek Rd which merges onto Rim road (what is shown in this video). My brother and I personally liked the south part of the park more than the north and only saw a handful of people. If the sun is still up when you hit the NE enterence, go south to Interior and drive West on hwy 44, then go north at Conata and take the road all the way to Wall. We saw Pronghorn and hundreds of Bison on hwy 44. A very magical day trip! If you're coming from Wall, do sage Creek, sheep mountain, hwy 44 east, and then rim rd back to the pinnicles enterence. Equally good.
Omg! My friend I thought it would be fun to drive to glacier national park at the end of august 2020. This video is amazing! So helpful and beautiful. We’re coming from Arkansas and going straight through there
Passed through this area a couple of times in an 18-wheeler (years ago). Didn't get to see much due to access or time restraints. I really enjoyed this awesome video. Yeah, crowds SUCK ! Thanks Tim !
Great places to see, good time to go! Went there a few years ago (flew to Chicago, wife and I drove from there to Yellowstone), saw a mountain goat on the walkway to the monument! Devil's Tower is a great sight as well, and if you haven't done it, you simply must go over the Beartooth Highway at some point!
Sad to not see you at Scmm. But you made the right choice to spend it with your wife traveling!! WOW at those views!! Really great vid! Those views are awesome!!
My brother lives up that a way. He loves it in that frozen wasteland but passing through once in the fall was enough for me. I like to imagine the representation of Seth Bullock played by Timothy Olyphant on the HBO show was pretty accurate. This was probably one of your best videos, Tim. The narration was perfect.
Loved the Badlands shots! Gorgeous! I have visited the Black Hills a couple of times, have not made it to the Badlands. Your photos have given me the desire to see the Badlands. My husband and I are retired and hope to move to the Black Hills within the next 6 months or so. Plan to live in the foothills outside of RC. The neighborhoods there are gorgeous, rolling hills with lots of evergreen trees. Read that RC and the southern edge of the Black Hills sit in the 'banana belt' of the Black Hills, which means the temps are moderated (not as cold in winter and not as hot in summer as the rest of the region, although it does get cold, and little wind. We are escaping the madhouse of the CO front range, too many people have invaded CO.
With the great video productions you do I can't understand why you don't have 100k subs. Awesome production Tim and what a beautiful country. I can understand your frustration at the people but they wanted to see the beauty as well I guess. That crazy horse monument is awesome. I can understand your patriotism it's something we lack here in oz at times. RSM8
Thank you, Kev. I can't believe I took so long to go visit this part of the country. I'm definitely gonna make a return trip. Cheers and much appreciated!
There's a lot more to see, Needles Highway, Spearfish Canyon Road, Elsworth Air Force Base where you can tour an ICBM silo with a cold war era missile inside. Hill City is better than Deadwood in my opinion. There's also thousands of miles of atv trails.
I grew up in Rapid. These days I appreciate it more than ever.
Outside of rapid city are there farms where I could lease land for a tiny house on wheels and commute to a job at Rapid City?
There was so much to do in Rapid city. I was pleasantly surprised.
I found your video while researching for an upcoming trip in the same area. Your narration and photography are unparalleled. It one of the best videos of the area I have seen. ‘Merica!!
WOW! Someone get the SD tourism board to write you a check... that was amazing
Appreciated, my friend. It's truly an incredible place!
shadetree surgeon you ain't kiddin!
Live in Nebraska and this is one of favorite places. I wish you could have seen Deadwood 30 years ago, before the casinos took over. It was an awesome little town. Next time Harney peak and Sylvan lake are something else to visit. The Badlands are amazing. Thanks!
Thanks very much. We will definitely be back for sure. There was so much we didn't have time to see, but a perfect excuse to make a return trip!
Nice video. Thank you. I first visited The Black Hills in 2016.By 2019 I owned a small home in Sturgis. Love the area. So beautiful!
Great video! This is the exact trip that my husband and I are taking this year...Driving up from Oklahoma. Thanks!
Fantastic, Tim... Absolutely fantastic short film- Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.

No way. My Aunt and cousins used to live in Rapid City! This brings back so many memories! Thanks for sharing Tim!
My pleasure. Rapid City is a great town. I could live there!
Very nice video, Tim. Beautiful sights and Indian bikes. The Old West is magical. Definitely on my list to visit.
You've gotta go, brother. You and Laura would love it.

I have been to sd and the black hills many many many many times in my life. I LOVE the black hills. ❤❤❤My favorite place is the wildlife loop.
Very well done, and enjoyable! Can't wait for your next one!
Very much appreciated. Thank you kindly!

Wow this was amazing ...wow i would take my drone to the badlands..awesome little documentarie
Thanks CM! Yeah, I was limited on drone usage because of the laws in the National and state parks. I wanted to fly around Rushmore especially, but it's a minimum 1,000-dollar fine.
Thanks for bringing us along and sharing Tim.
My pleasure, as always. And thanks for tuning in, sir. :)
Along with Singapore, Rushmore the most fantastic experiences of my life.

Mt. Rushmore

Dang, I need to get over to South Dakota sometime. Those panoramas of the Badlands were amazing! Really shows the beauty of the park. Awesome video!
The trip is worth it for the badlands alone. You'd enjoy it immensely. Cheers and thanks!
A fantastic tour, my friend! Tons and tons of history up there. Beautiful filming and photos, in spite of the people. Very well done B-)
Much appreciated, good sir. I could've easily made the vid a half-hour, but I didn't wanna press my luck with viewer retention. LOL!
Wow Bro. Tim what a great adventure sir thank you for sharing
My pleasure! I'm happy you liked it. :)
Great job!! Loved it and thank you!!!
Thank you, Bert!
Thanks Tim for sharing your Adventure with us. This video was next level production value. Fingers crossed you hit 10k subs real soon.

This was very well put together. A few times I thought I was watching the travel channel.

Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers.
You created a very beautiful peace of work with this one tim I don't think it could have been done any better
I appreciate that compliment a great deal. Videography is much easier when the scenery cooperates. Hahaha. Cheers and thanks!
Great video Tim! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure and much appreciated.
Wow Vato, you’re killing it! Great , glorious video!
Thank you, sir! :0)

Absolutely an incredible video. Cudos Tim. I agree some vacations get messed up because of people. You did a GREAT JOB.
Thank you, Jim. I'm really happy you enjoyed it. :)
Great video Tim, the Badlands looked unreal!
Yes, quite literally like being on another planet. Thank you, sir!
This is great work Tim! Your frustration with the amount of humanity is something we share. That’s one reason I don’t like vacations in cities. I guess I need to go to the badlands some day. Be good my friend.
You'd love it, Lonnie. It's exactly the kind of surroundings you'd appreciate. Cheers and thanks, sir!

Awesome video thanks for sharing it with us 👌🏻🇺🇸
My pleasure, sir. :Thanks! -)
My wife and i went to rapid city from August 31 till September 4, a nice place.
If it weren't for those winters, I could easily live there.
@@TimKreitzAdventures . Same thing i said.
Damn people disrupting your vacation. I know how you feel. Great video Tim, really enjoyed the history of all your stops.
Thank ya, sir. You know It's my nature that I always search out the historical aspects of the places I visit, and I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :-)
Great video. The wife and I are planning a trip there in October. I was thinking we would have the place to our selves also. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure. Hopefully it'll be less crowded for you by then. I heard that most of the tourism ramps down in late September. Have fun!
It does, I've been there in January and the only tourists are snowmobilers so it's pretty dead.
Grate job ..Thank you.
Tim this is 1 of your best works. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Daniel! :-)
Omg! My friend I thought it would be fun to drive to glacier national park at the end of august 2020. This video is amazing! So helpful and beautiful. We’re coming from Arkansas and going straight through there
Nicely done of where I live. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Passed through this area a couple of times in an 18-wheeler (years ago). Didn't get to see much due to access or time restraints. I really enjoyed this awesome video. Yeah, crowds SUCK ! Thanks Tim !
Thanks very much! I bet trucking through that area was quite an experience, especially if you had to do it in wintertime. Cheers!
Great video. Thanks.
My pleasure. :-)
We did all we could in the time we had, but we'll definitely be going back soon! :-)
i really enjoyed your video. I use to live there and I now visit every so often. you did a wonderful job on the Video. thank you so much.

Thanks my friend, and right you are. I'll be back to Cali for a visit soon!
Re-watching some of your videos, beautiful pictures and editing Tim 👌
Thank ya, Alex. This trip was one of the highlights of '18 for us.

Dude beside all the people, looked like a good trip :-) Nicely done :-)
Oh definitely. We'll probably go back in the next year or two. Great trip indeed. Thanks!
Just watched a movie 😍😍😍 absolutely amazing and educational
Thanks, Keith! :-)
There's a lot more to see, Needles Highway, Spearfish Canyon Road, Elsworth Air Force Base where you can tour an ICBM silo with a cold war era missile inside. Hill City is better than Deadwood in my opinion. There's also thousands of miles of atv trails.
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff I didn't include in the video, as well as as some things we didn't have time to see. We'll definitely be back.
That was a great video Tim. Your professionalism really shines through.
Thank you very much. :-)
I'm from Nebraska, this was a great video you made here!
Glad you enjoyed it.
